  1. The 8063 will always be special to me because that is the set that got me back into Lego and Technic. I do agree it's definitely not one of the better sets but it will look nice displayed in close proximity to the similarly colored 42008 later this year.
  2. A slightly larger, fully RC'd flagship-style version with 9398-sized rolling stock might be in order. A little extra space might help in resolving some of the current dislikes. I would love to see one from TLG next year.
  3. Excellent review even while abroad - now that is dedication! Next, we will need you to travel a few months into the future and review the 42009 Crane set. I really like the finished product, especially without the decals. The inexplicable colored interior pieces can be remedied easily enough.
  4. I like the concept and agree about the motors. Where are your tan gears - do you like the LBG ones better? I do! :)
  5. You could always rig something up with yellow panels once they are plentiful again. Here is what I did on my 8275:
  6. Thanks for the comments on the orange. It's a shame there isn't more available but maybe one of these days there will be. I have been collecting orange pieces for a while, not knowing if there would ever be enough to make a model of any size. It just happened to work out with this one and the 8043 but now I'm just about out of the more rare parts.
  7. Here is mine I built in orange last week: I had to change a few pieces to make it happen.
  8. It wouldn't be hard at all I wouldn't think. The boom looks long enough to acommodate a LA and you already have an axle running up through there. It could be what the 8294 should have been!
  9. I wouldn't be surprised to see some studded bricks used on the new crane. The 8053 had 8 1x16 yellow Technic Bricks so I would expect to see some here too. I like the character of studded bricks mixed in with mostly studless construction.
  10. I'm partial to his Hauler myself.
  11. Happy Pneu Year, davidmull! Happy New Year All!
  12. Once you get tired or run out of official sets you can build one of these! Here is the link: http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/ Just click on the 'Articulated Hauler' tab on the left. Better yet, take a look at all of his great stuff!
  13. You could always build the 6x6 Hauler by Designer Han. Here is my studless adaptation of his Hauler.
  14. I'm thrilled about the sets for 2013. I think it will end up being one of the better years for Technic in the end. Those who would rather have something else can build their own or someone's MOC. We have it pretty good I think.
  15. I just ordered one for $79 also, since I struck out in the stores. Can't wait to get this one!
  16. Most of the instructions are available except the grabber. Take apart your 8294 and possibly something else red, and make a red one. I have an orange one under way and... j/k!
  17. That looks like fun! I recently built the 8297 but went a different route. I haven't RC'd it yet though.
  18. I guess having a boom that doesn't free-fall would be a good start!
  19. It looks really nice displayed next to the 8043. A yellow 8294 would complete the ensemble.
  20. Just look at all of those beautiful LA's, David.
  21. That's what I'm thinking! They will get it sorted out soon I'm sure, although it does seem to happen a lot.
