  1. Wow!! That looks incredible! I love all of the details - very nicely done. The colors look great too.
  2. Nice job yet again! I would love to see the underside. Maybe your brickshelf folder will have some images showing it in closer detail. Amazing work - can we expect the 42008 next?
  3. I also noticed that about the mounting cams pointing in different directions in different photos.
  4. The more I see of it, the more I like it! A worthy successor to the 8421 as far as I can tell so far. And to Markus Kossman, I give this!
  5. Actually it doesn't have the free-fall boom feature of the 8421 so I have to give it a !
  6. I don't have a problem with the battery box at all - looks cool with its design, much moreso than that ugly, antiquated, system block looking 8421 battery box. The red piece looks like a placeholder for a switch that controls the motorization of the yet to be implemented PF turntable rotation. Would that make all of the haters happy then? You just flip up that lid on the chassis for access to the second battery box.
  7. It's a beauty, that's for sure! I have some minor color tweaks in mind already although it looks pretty good straight up.
  8. I'm not sure what is going on with that image but mine will not look like that!
  9. Absolutely! The lineup is pretty solid all things considered, IMO of course.
  10. I don't care that the crane is big - I'm more interested in the mechanisms that make it work. Technic models get too cumbersome and heavy when they are too large. I think this is about as large as is practical to build.
  11. The orange car is some kind of off-road buggy if I remember right. I'll take anything orange!
  12. What about the small orange set for 2013 - any news on that one? I am hoping for some new orange bits. To the folks who are not excited about the new sets - what in the world were you expecting? I guess save your money and buy the 'real good' studded construction vintage sets.
  13. This! I'm speechless - looks like another Technic Icon in the making. On a side note, the 42008 is all green now? I thought it had some red mixed in before?
  14. /Tosses stones @ shadowhearth! I like it! Can't wait to see all of the hidden goodness.
  15. I'm excited to see how they have done this. I'm guessing the motor is in the upper section for the reasons you mentioned and the battery box being the counterweight there also.
  16. I love the comparison images. I'm excited about building this one at some point. It would be nice if there was a way to make the claw controls work from the truck also. I guess you would need to add a switch along with the necessary mods to make it happen. The Designer Han rear wheel mod or similar is a must.
  17. You can still get the majority if not all of the parts to make your own 8421 and most of them are common and inexpensive. All of the people saying they 'missed out' aren't paying attention. I know the motors are getting expensive but I made a modernized version with PF parts that I'm pretty happy with.
  18. What do you have going on in orange there? Looks like an Excavator possibly.
  19. What did you not like about the appearance of the Crane set? Were you able to see if the boom used some yellow Technic bricks mixed in with the studless liftarms? Is the Crane mostly yellow or is the chassis black?
  20. The good news is that the big Crane has more LA's than we originally though if it has small ones on the stabilizers. I'm really pulling for the pneumatics, David!
