  1. Almost all of my parts are new. The only significant exception was when I recreated the Classic Space All Terrain Vehicle (6927) a couple of years ago. I had it when I was younger but its parts along with the rest of my LEGO was given to charity when I entered my DA. I used a combination of new parts I had since becoming an AFOL in the early 90s, new parts bought on the secondary market and used parts bought on the secondary market that I couldn't find new. Some of the used white parts had yellowed so I treated them with hydrogen peroxide, Oxy Crystal White and sunlight. They're now indistinguishable from new parts.
  2. LOL! EB auto-corrects to "megablocks" (sic) whereas the quote from Family Guy is an actual mention of the Mattel-owned brand Mega Bloks. They're not spelt the same way. Sorry for the digression.
  3. Very cool! I get the impression these guys are nihilistic zealots who will stop at nothing. I'm tempted to suggest that all three should have the same flame logo chest piece and dark red sleeves. But given that almost none of the minifigures in my display collection are duplicates, I really can't question variety.
  4. Using a combination of mostly LEGO and a few third party pieces, it's also possible to MOC/modify existing characters. The hobbits below were MOCed long before the LotR films (with a few small changes since). Gandalf the White was created using a SW torso (I've since replaced the silver lightsabre element in his staff with a white one). All have been yellowed including Galadriel's and Elrond's ears, and Galadriel's neckline.
  5. I'm guessing it is. No offence to any klingons who may be reading this, but I'm already planning to MOC an orc armed with one of those winged blades/bat'leths. No offence to any orcs either! I've been getting BW stuff from when they started selling online and I don't recall them ever having done a bat'leth before.
  6. Spears, helmet and wing blades ordered. And some other parts too. Woohoo!
  7. Ltfalcon, The gaming mat makes your shots look like part of a D&D, Pathfinder or similar game. Cool! I also used a gaming mat for this picture of Drizzt and a Champion of Grumsh: And for this picture that also includes Guenhwyvar and a mimic though you can barely see the mat's gridlines: Here are a few more D&D-inspired pictures. None of these are on a gaming mat though. Rogues Sorcerers Death knights Gargoyle
  8. Is it the hands or the wings that are too wide? If it's the hands, is it possible to shave or sand them to make them fit? My Smaug isn't accessible, so I can't check for myself.
  9. Not many then, Angeli. Just kidding! Seriously, very impressive.
  10. According to the manager of a LEGO store, they are not supposed to sell to anyone they suspect is buying for the purpose of reselling. So as long as it seems you're buying for yourself, you can get as many as you like. Of course, the staff are also encouraged to sell as much as possible, so they don't enforce the don't-sell-to-resellers rule unless it's a blatant infringement.
  11. It looks great! I'm impressed. I have to confess that I wouldn't have the courage to make holes in a Smaug body. I might try the same thing but if I do, I'll only be working on some spare dragon arms, not on Smaug's torso. I'll attach the arms using Blu Tack so that I can remove them or even pose them to a certain extent. I'm not sure how I feel about the wings' claws. If I give Smaug proper arms, I may remove them altogether or replace them with minifigure hands.
  12. The use of the wings to create a gothic arch is inspired! The scene has an Adams Family/Munsters feel, at once comic and creepy. Nicely done!
  13. New colour, yes. New mould, no, I don't think so. I reckon it's this piece http://alpha.brickli...age?P=20608#T=C from the S15 gargoyle but in red. If so, the neck/back brace and wings are a single part. I really hope the imp's costume doesn't look too much like an outfit so that if you replace the head with a more sinister one (such as from the Nexo Knights demonic villains), it actually looks like an imp, not like a kid dressed as one.
  14. What a fun MOC! Great use of parts from a variety of lines - CMF, Chima and LotR - to give it a Warhammer feel. Nice to see that the goblins have short legs. That's how gobbos should be.
  15. Yes, indeed Here's a devil I MOCed a couple of years ago using BrickWarriors dragon (and minotaur) parts:
  16. Nice job! I especially like the double wing arrangement. I hope you don't mind if I post my glider too. It was also inspired by the Mighty Micro set. It's meant to hark back to a time when Mr Osborn's glider was fairly compact.
  17. Slightly non-purist Green Goblin on and off his MOC glider: Apologies for the rubbish photography.
  18. It would probably help if you mentioned in the thread's title the minifigs you're trying to create, e.g. "Help needed to MOC Dexter and Debra Morgan, Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Olivia Dunham and Walter Bishop." I'm not sure if all that would fit in a title. If not, I would list the main ones and add "and others". You should also specify whether you want to create purist minifigures, i.e. only using LEGO parts as sold or non-purist ones. If non-purist, are you willing to alter parts, e.g. remove print, and/or use third party parts? You should also state whether you have a preference for fleshy, i.e. natural skin tones, or yellow, i.e. classic LEGO skin tone, or whether you don't mind which. Sorry I can't answer your question more directly. I have no idea who those characters are. Links to pictures might help.
  19. Do it all the time. It works fine as long as you don't force it. There seems to be two different diameters of the pin part of the hand that gets inserted into the forearm. It's a very small difference that isn't visible to the naked eye. But some hands definitely don't fit into some forearm holes. I think it depends on which factory made them. Here are some torsos that originally had fleshy hands that I swapped for yellow ones:
  20. I really like the overall design of the castle: its proportions and features. The detailing of the stonework is excellent, especially the texture of the walls and the curved cornices above the doors.
  21. A few LotR MOCs: Galadriel, Elrond, Gandalf the White, Gondorian knight, Sam, Frodo, Merry and Pip. The hobbits pre-date the official ones with a few later parts. Apologies for the rubbish photography. Questions, comments, rings of power?
  22. I mostly use Really Useful boxes with Really Useful trays/separators. Within each compartment, parts are sorted into little grip seal bags by function or style and sometimes by colour as well. So for example, all my standard spears are in one grip seal baggy, which in turn is in a compartment with other polearms which itself is in a tray of weapons in a box of arms and armour.
  23. I can't tell if Ursula's torso is just a print or if it's a shaped piece to make her fat and busty. If it's a shaped piece, I hope it's separate from the octopoid legs. What do you think?
  24. I wish it were a case of coincidental creativity, but it isn't. I was inspired by your gargoyle, so all credit to you for the idea. I couldn't find wings in light bley, so I had to make do with dark bley ones. At least they match the minifig's print colour. The wings, back brace/clips (which you can hardly see in the picture) and claws are all Kre-o.
