  1. They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, so I hope that this gargoyle will be taken as a compliment:
  2. How to cook their children? Wow, harsh! Seriously though, great MOC. I especially like the look of the house and the scene in which the kid is horrified at seeing the fish being filleted.
  3. Nexo Knights magazine is out as of yesterday. I picked up a copy at Sainsbury's. It comes with a Nexo knight minifig plus accessories. The cover price is £3.25 which isn't too bad if you consider that the Ultimate NK minifigs are £7 each and come with only slightly more accesories.
  4. MOCed Deadpool. Minifig and katana brace are LEGO. Hood, katana, belt/holsters and pistols are third party. Torso design is MOC. Not sure whether or not to keep the torso markings or to have it plain. What do you think? Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the plain version.
  5. Cool MOC and video. I got severe food poisoning at KFC twenty-something years ago and haven't been back since.
  6. Cool! Your selective removal of the neck-line and arm-hole print is very clever.
  7. Three new additions to and one old minifigure from my display collection. The rear two devils are modded Nexo Knight villains. The front right devil is one I have had for a while. The green devilkin is a recent joiner. I've had the green head and matching hair piece for some time but hadn't worked out how best to use them until a few weeks ago. Questions, comments, concerns?
  8. Completely agree I wouldn't resent NK so much if it didn't make me suspect that TLG views it as meeting most of the demand for any kind of Castle or Fantasy Era line. I have a bad feeling that we won't see a new Castle or classic fantasy range until NK has run its course. That said, I have to admit to having a couple of NK minifigures. The villains work quite well as fantasy devils. See the back two in this picture:
  9. Cool visual analysis. Very clever. If babyfig hands can indeed be held by minifigs, I wonder if you'll be able to place them so they're both standing or whether the babyfig will have to be carried by the minifig.
  10. Minifigures are whatever age you want them to be and get older (or younger!) however you want them to. You could even have some of them getting older, others getting younger and yet others staying the same age - all within the same collection. And they may not age (or rejuvenate) at the same rate. It's analogous to fictional characters. The Fantastic 4, for example, were created in 1961. If they were in their 30s at the time, they would now be in their 80s or 90s. But in the 2015 film, they were young people. In the case of the Fantastic 4, it's down to Marvel or whoever has the film rights to decide how old they are. In the case of your minifigures, it's down to you. Even if your minifigures represent established characters, it's up to you how old they are. If you want your Galadriel minifigure to be a stroppy teen, that's what she is. It doesn't really matter that she's thousands of years old by the time of the Lord of the Rings story unless you're trying to be canonical.
  11. Neat little MOC. I especially like the way you give the impression that the marauders' escape is hampered by the terrain. With regards to the story, I reckon that after the bread roll, they both had plenty of meat to go with it.
  12. Nice! I especially like how it opens up. Wasn't expecting that. If TLG produced it as a set, I'd yellow the fleshies. But that's just me.
  13. Back to Series 16, perhaps the Arabian Knight will look something like one of these from my display collection (sans the horse and camel of course):
  14. Not so much an army as a small band of Arabian knights... ...and villains: Edit: I also have the two CMF genies, male and female, but as the only way I modded them was to replace the male's golden hands with medium azure ones, I didn't bother to include them.
  15. Have you tried adding Oxy Action Crystal White? Even in low light, you should be able to cut that to a few hours, maybe a couple of days at worst.
  16. I wonder if LuxorV, Poe Dameron or another mod could pin this thread. As long as it's maintained, the 'hair index' will remain extremely useful for pretty much every minifig MOCer.
  17. Very interesting, but rotating a rectangular torso over rectangular hips doesn't look very good. Kre-o minifigs rotate that way and it leaves an overhanging torso and an exposed hip which is ugly. It appears that the arm can rotate at the elbow which would be useful, but not as much as lateral rotation at the shoulder allowing minifigs to raise their arms sideways. The "Altered [L]EGO" (my addition) name is cute! Kudos to BF for coming up with that.
  18. I'm sorry that your parts were damaged but glad others can learn from your experience. I have heard people recommend Magic Eraser for use on LEGO, but I would never countenance that. Magic Eraser contains an abrasive, albeit a mild one, that can very easily dull LEGO. I tried Magic Eraser on a test piece of LEGO and it ruined the sheen.
  19. Oh, cool! Is that a recoloured S15 CMF flying warrior's armour?
  20. Adding Oxy Action Crystal White to the hydrogen peroxide and sunlight will catalyse the reaction from days to hours (or hours to minutes depending on concentration of hydrogen peroxide, degree of discoloration, intensity of sunlight and temperature). Using hydrogen peroxide doesn't make the pieces rough, but does make them ever so slightly more grippy when you slide your fingers across their surface. It's as if they weren't really clean before and now they are. Back to the OP's question: I believe that TLG continues to use the same additives to its white ABS, so yes, new white parts will eventually turn off-white. The good news is that there's no limit to the number of times you can 'reset' the whiteness using the H2O2 + Oxy + UV method.
  21. http://www.rakuten.co.uk/ is doing 15% off toys including LEGO. Use code TOYS15 . Word is that the Daily Mail will be running a polybag promo during the third week of May. An unconfirmed list of polies includes SW, City, Super Heroes, Nexo Knights, Friends and Ninjago.
  22. LOL! I wonder if the Inklings ever thought about a battle between Narnians and Middle Earthers. By the way, if you're a non-purist, BrickForge does a cool centaur or, more precisely, the equine part.
  23. It's one of Alexandre Boudon's designs. A number of his designs have gone on to be Collectible Minifigures. However, I don't think it would fit in a CMF packet so seems unlikely to ever make it as part of that line. It would be great if TLG used Boudon's design for a bigfig cyclops, minotaur or ogre but I don't see it fitting any of the existing lines. It could conceivably be part of a future Ninjago or Nexo Knights set, but the latter already has a method of creating oversized minifigs: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?M=nex007#T=S&O={} . I can most easily imagine it as a new design for super hero bigfigs.
  24. Thanks, Silverwolf28 & BrickFit26. In addition to the minifigs pictured above, I also used various parts from S15 with existing minifigs in my collection. For example, I replaced my S6 genie's hands with the mech's medium azure ones, used a spare winged warrior's head on an elf, put the astronaut's flag on a white antenna ( http://alpha.brickli...age?P=3957b#T=C ) next to a yellow-suited Classic Space astronaut, and used the jewel thief's head under this Catwoman's mask: http://alpha.brickli...lor=11#T=C&C=11 - it really looks like it was as TLG intended. I don't have a picture of them, I'm afraid.
