  1. I'm not a big fan of fleshies, but your minifigures look cool with their accessories. The Brickwarriors scroll used to be available in tan which is a closer colour match to its appearance in the film. Unfortunately, it's not easy to find in that colour any more.
  2. Or just a 1 x 1 plate for a small boost in height as in some of the minifigures in the following pictures: For a minifigure-shaped bigfig, you can mod a keyring-torch if you're willing to go non-purist as in this oni:
  3. There's non-purist with and without modification. The OP's picture shows a non-purist minifigure without modification and the OP goes on to say in post 7 that he prefers not to modify, so I provided solutions that fit those criteria. I have to say that I'm with the OP on this one. I'm happy to use non-purist parts but not keen on modding which I only do when I can't avoid it (e.g. yellowing fleshy LotR/Hobbit elf ears).
  4. It's intended as a generic elf archer but I suppose it does look like Link. I've never played Legend of Zelda and know almost nothing about it, so I could be wrong, but isn't Link usually portrayed with a sword and only occasionally with a bow? It wouldn't surprise me if someone used the Peter Pan CMF to create a Link minifigure. I wonder if there are any other recognisable non-Disney characters that could be created from the Disney CMFs.
  5. I realise that this thread is in the LEGO Licensed forum, but I'm surprised that so many of the posts state overtly or hint that these minifigures will be used/displayed as intended by Disney. Is it wrong to MOC/mod these minifigures so they're no longer recognisably Disney characters like the below for example?
  6. This piece by SI-DAN: http://www.minifigcat.com/shop/home.php?cat=499 The image at that site makes it look bulkier than it is. In reality, it's pretty sleek. Kre-o do a version that's not quite as good but still better than LEGO's. It consists of a back bracket (like LEGO's) but with a 1 x 1 plate with two clips. Hope that helps.
  7. Don't know if this really qualifies as an "army" as it's just a few minifigures and they're not uniform or thematically linked. What they do have in common is that they're all fantasy/historical and all make use of new parts from the Disney CMF line.
  8. My MOCs/mods that make use of parts from the recently released Disney CMF line. Apologies for the rubbish photography. The vampiress-witch's staff is topped with a purple gem. It looks blue in the picture but isn't in real life. What MOCs or mods have you made using Disney parts?
  9. Both pictures in this thread thus far are cool! The NK villains make great devils/cambions. Already exist. Neither of my winged devils have bulky backpacks/armour or holes in their backs:
  10. Probably because Maleficent and Ursula are in the series and they're both witches.
  11. As Darkdragon has pointed out, "scalping" doesn't mean what you think it means. Scalping requires an element of profit or the intention of making a profit. I didn't profit. I was just helping friends. No, I didn't because I reserved the boxes in advance. But even if I hadn't ordered my own boxes, I still wouldn't have a case to answer. The other people who went to that store were no more deserving of getting the minifigures they wanted than my friends and, taken on aggregate, probably less so. I knew with certainty that all of the recipients of the minifigures I bought would appreciate them because they're AFOLs who had requested specific minifigures. However, it's likely that at least some of the other people who would have bought those minifigures would have done so blind and given them to recipients who didn't want them.
  12. I don't. It may prevent some scalping but if you didn't allow purchases of entire boxes, non-scalpers would be penalised too. And the innocent shouldn't be punished for the sins of the guilty. I felt for the ones I wanted from this series but have bought entire boxes of previous series keeping the ones I wanted and selling my extras to friends at cost. I shouldn't be prevented from doing that - it's not scalping.
  13. Hasbro might have considered it for a licence fee if they weren't competing directly with TLG which they are with their Kre-o brand.
  14. There are actually two others with short legs: Cheshire Cat and Alien. But you're quite right that the combination of short legs and big ears makes him easy to identify.
  15. I often modify TLG's designs because I don't care for all of the look or functionality (I'm looking at you, flick fire missiles!) of the original. Some of TLG's design decisions are driven by price, by what kids prefer or what they can construct. As I'm not under the same constraints, I can go beyond what they have done. Here's an example of a mod I made to Dragon Mountain's castle: It's not a compulsion though. Sometimes I use TLG's designs as sold. I suspect that for some AFOLs who do mod compulsively, it's either the result of an over-active imagination or compensation for a sense of inferiority ("I can do better than that because I'm brilliant. Look at my improvements.") or a combination of the two. That last bit wasn't aimed at anyone in particular and isn't intended to offend.
  16. I picked up all the ones I wanted yesterday (Sunday, 1 May) at a WHS: Stitch, Ursula, Ariel, Maleficent, Syndrome, Alice, Genie and Peter Pan. When I got there early-to-mid afternoon, they only had one box with the packets split between two sets of tills. I don't know if they had had more earlier in the day but I have a feeling that they hadn't. Before I got there, I was concerned that any boxes would be picked apart, but that didn't seem to be the case. They didn't appear to be selling all that well. I'm pretty adept at identifying blind-packaged minifigures by feel but even if I were not, this series seems particularly easy to feel.Through touch alone or a combination of touch and deduction, you can work out what each one is. For example, only three have short legs: Stitch, Alien and Cheshire Cat. Of those, only Stitch has big ears. Another example, only two have square tiles, Mr Incredible and Syndrome, of which only Syndrome has a bumpy hairpiece. I have watched a few Youtube reviews of the series and would like to point out that "Cheshire" as in Cheshire Cat rhymes with "pressure", not "transpire".
  17. Apology accepted. In future, you may want to go back a few pages before posting in a long thread, searching the thread or googling for an answer before posting.
  18. How many of each minifigure are there per box? I'm asking because it hasn't been asked and answered multiple times, including once graphically ( http://www.eurobrick...75#entry2539501 ), in this thread already.
  19. Thanks. Farnham's a bit far for me to go for minifigures. I'll just have to wait until they're available nearby, hopefully later this week.
  20. It's not considered 'legal' in the sense that TLG doesn't approve of it. As far as they are concerned, torso and leg assemblies are meant to be used as sold. AFOLs, of course, have their own ideas. I have found that the best way of removing arms is to rotate them back and then use the forearm, but never the hand, to slowly lever the arm out of its socket. Putting arms into sockets is similar to the removal procedure in reverse except that pressure needs to be applied to the top of the arm, by the shoulder. The elf on the right in this picture has a torso that's back-to-front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AmperZand/Fantasy/mirkwood_elves_small.jpg
  21. Has anyone found the Disney collectible minifigures in the UK? If so, where and, if relevant, what chain (WHS, Argos, Tesco etc)?
  22. Where in the UK are you? Was the store an independent or part of a chain (WH Smith, Argos, Sainsbury's etc)? If a chain, which one? Thanks.
  23. Agreed! Unfortunately, I just received an order of BW parts and really shouldn't be placing another order so soon. I was thinking that too. I think the new Thrall pieces were inspired by the Unsullied in Game of Thrones: http://vignette3.wik...=20130317182152 Edit: Wardancer beat me to it!
  24. Even if he doesn't sell it. In practice though, if he were copying a small quantity of a piece he owned and they were for personal use, it might be considered "fair use" (as would, for example, photocopying a few pages from a book you owned so you didn't have to carry the whole tome around). Also, TLG may or may not pursue the case. On the one hand, IP generally needs to be defended to be maintained. On the other, it wouldn't be good PR to drag someone through the courts for making three copies of a part in a colour TLG doesn't make anyway.
