  1. That's really cool! I especially like the micro-builds as MOCs. If I can offer a suggestion, perhaps some statuettes like this one http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=90398pb004c01#T=S&O={} as figures. They're not to minifigure scale, but scale is often ignored when it comes to minifigure accessories even by LEGO itself.
  2. Very cool monogram, Tomsche! I'm also a big JRRT fan. I have quite a few LotR minifigures, monsters and scenery in my LEGO display collection. When I was a student, I used to go to the pub where Tolkien and CS Lewis used to meet just because it was Professor T's favourite.
  3. Thanks That would definitely work too. The main reason I went with dark green is that among my desert-themed minifigs, white is the exclusive colour of my Arabian princess: http://www.brickshel...hts_on_foot.jpg . Yes, those are Peter Pan's legs. And the black hat with red ears is indeed from Jestro's Volcano Lair. Specifically, it, the red torsos and short black legs are from the bookkeeper in that set (though I actually got them on BrickLink, not by buying the set). Well spotted! You can also see Peter Pan's legs on banana guy in this picture, though I'm not sure they're any easier to make out: The furious bigfig gorilla explains why my banana guy is terrified.
  4. Very cool looking - or should I say "very cruel looking"? Here are my MOCed imps (with a few other minifigs):
  5. Some mostly non-purist MOCs based on the Series 16 Collectable Minifigures (CMFs) with a few thematically appropriate guest figs. Below: a couple of S3 and S16 enhanced superheroes. Questions, comments, confusion?
  6. Do you ever use parts from the Collectable Minifigures (CMFs) to mod your DC and Marvel superheroes? I used the CMF Series 3 elf's head and Series 16 dog show winner's hair for Aquaman. Spider-Man benefited from the Series 16 wildlife photographer's arms. Are there any dual-moulded blue legs with red boots that match Spidey's colours?
  7. In Dutch/Flemish it says: @Exetrius at MisterBricks [a toy store] in Stiens [a town in the Netherlands], you get a discount on a box of 60.
  8. No, it's Kre-o. Specifically, it's Zape the Ape from Kre-o's Cityville Skyscraper Mayhem set. The set was hugely discounted at a store near me. I wanted a scary bigfig gorilla to terrify my banana guy. LEGO does Gorilla Grodd ( http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=131682#T=I ) but he doesn't look threatening enough for my liking, so I went with a non-LEGO alternative. Two of the devilkins and the two animals in my pictures above are purist. The rest have some impurity.
  9. Some people display the collectable minifigures as sold, and I genuinely think that's cool. But I prefer to MOC (or should that be mod?) my minifigures. Here are MOC Series 16 minifigures with a few thematically appropriate friends: Questions and (positive) comments welcome. Have you MOCed your collectable Series 16 minifigures? If so, let's see 'em!
  10. For wearing a shirt on a narturist beach?
  11. I already have four of them only one of which will have a shield. The rest will have swords and bows. If you're ambushing well armed knights, it's not a bad idea to have a means of defending yourself especially if you're lightly armoured.
  12. Very cool! I agree with kurigan that the use of the Chima face for the harpy is brilliant. I don't know why but I imagine she has a lovely face most of the time that turns feral when she attacks.
  13. Thanks for the tip! Went to a WHS in Surrey yesterday and got a few more (I already had some from Billund 10 days ago). WHS staff were perfectly happy for me to stand on my own at a side counter feeling packets.
  14. Hang on a second! Exactly how did TLG determine what was safe? Sounds like some extremely unethical experiments were conducted.
  15. I agree. As I've said before, TLG will have to change its business model from a maker to a designer of toys. Of course, TLG already designs toys. But in future, I expect consumers will have the choice of buying the physical product as they do now or buying a licence to produce the set at home or through 3D printing services. It will be similar in some ways to buying books today: you can get the hard copy, an e-copy (e.g. Kindle) or a soft copy that you have printed.
  16. Nice collection! I don't go in for fleshies or modern-themed minifigures, but that's just me. It's still impressive. I do think you should sort your minifigures, perhaps by theme as you have already done with the military ones. I reckon it wouldn't take that long. I'm not a moderator, but I'm pretty sure that your post should be in the Minifig Customisation Workshop: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=90 Despite its name, the MCW is for any topic entirely about minifigures (though there are some themed 'army' threads elsewhere on the EB boards). It isn't just about customising, but even if it were, your minifigures would count as you have custom printings, third party pieces (e.g. Brick Arms and BrickForge) and some non-LEGO, Chinese minifigures.
  17. Cool! Instantly recognisable and good use of third party pieces. If I may offer a suggestion, perhaps this piece http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=60750#T=C in dark orange for Bruenor's beard.
  18. I'm not a big fan of fleshies and even less of mixing them with yellowies, but I do like how you captured the dynamism of the fight. The way you've done the splits for the jump kick of the minifig on the right is very clever.
  19. I came back from Legoland Billund a few days ago and didn't see any parts in previously unreleased colours. That said, I don't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all LEGO parts and didn't have access to the net, so could easily have missed some.
  20. If you were using the feeling method of identifying the minifigures, I hope you don't mind me saying that your mistake was easily avoided. The Banana Guy is one of the most straightforward of the series to identify by touch. It may be a happy accident however. I don't particularly advocate buying early in a series' release for the purpose of reselling, but you should be able to get your money back if you decide to sell the minifigure and could make some profit if you either sell very soon or wait a long time (the price of popular minifigures being somewhat U-shaped over time).
  21. I don't know if this qualifies as a "find" given that they were at the RRP, but I found Series 16 of the collectable minifigures at Legoland Billund on Wednesday, fully two weeks before their official European release. I was aware that they had been out in the US for a while but wasn't expecting to see them in the Old World when I entered one of the many shops at Legoland and there they were in plentiful supply! I got ten: one army builder in triplicate and seven other favourites singly.
