I know, I was just kidding around, hence the " ". Good organization is the key to quick building, so pump out those MOCs!

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
JimBee replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I saw the first episode (rebroadcast) on CN today, and I have to say that it's quite disappointing. The designs and animation are spectacular and have potential, but the storyline is terrible. The lines (especially by Ashoka) are really lame, too. Well, you expect more from a kids cartoon, but I was. Thanks, stash2stixx for the link, I'll have to watch the episodes, for knowledge's sake. -
I thought it was the most "suckingupingist" thread ever?

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
JimBee replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the news, Sinner! While I'm still not too excited for this line, I'll check them out and perhaps get a small set. -
In a recent episode of The Sarah Conner Chronicles, John's girlfriend built a robot out of Lego in John's little kid room, which he had to sleep in.

New forum idea: Lego Science class! Very funny, nice find CopMike, this guy is really dedicated! Either that or he has too much time on his hands...
-
Oh, come on! But really, very nice concept, Eilif. I like your little space that you've set aside- mine's just scattered in my room, so the challenge is finding the bricks! Seeing your presorted results is great! Very neat and organized, good luck on getting to your goal!

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Da Death Star: If he wants to rejoin, he can do so by posting in this thread. If he really cared that much about it the Comic Game, he would have posted or at least asked to rejoin. It is the player's responsibility to contribute to this game, not mine. DSR: Yes, Adam is right, he just wanted a cameo appearance from one of his comic characters because he couldn't participate fully in the game. A cameo is planned for his character, Clone 214. Pr0, I'm glad to have you in the game! Unfortunately, I'm using the Mutt hair for SimonJedi's character. Actually, to be honest, I have to use Agent Chase's black hair for SimonJedi, since I lost my Mutt hair (which will be replaced soon!). In any case, is there some sort of helmet I could use for your character, Pr0? (Not a clone helmet... well you can, but it's too unoriginal! ). Also, Pr0, let's just use dual pistols for you, since the amount of lightsaber users is becoming a majority... I'll wait to make the banner after the chapter starts, Oky Wan, rest assured. Also, I;d like to make a change to my character. Instead of a regular smiley head, I want to use Indy's... just better, I think. Hopefully there isn't a problem? -
Aye, that's what I've been saying all along! (I wish there were a wink pirate smiley...) Oh, I'm not being a kissass, either, so you can take that and... yeah...

Thanks guys! I am working on an improved version now, by adding some more items (bench, sign, perhaps a building facade). I will also consider moving the tiles in a different pattern spread over the whole thing, or removing them. Green Hair, the dark blue lady is from the Castle sets, but with different hair.

Nice idea (and review), Brickster! These Halloween reviews really get into the holiday spirit! I rated this set average, as it has both pros and cons. The pros would be the rare werewolf pieces, the customizable figs (I didn't know reversible heads were available that long ago!), and the cool tree. The truck isn't great, but this is still a great set for it's price. *Sigh*, I miss the studios line. I look forward to the remaining three Halloween reviews from you, are you going to do one each week? EDIT: Oh yes, I very much like your new backdrop way better than the stone one. Excellent work, Brickster!

Haha, hilarious entry, pe668! What I like: The abundance of foliage is excellent, especially the big tree parts in the back that offer a good backdrop. I also very much like the addition of the cage with the skeleton inside, very innovative. I also like the cannon on wooden wheels, not to mention the poor soldier stuck inside! I also like the fact that this entry is color coordinated very well, and the torch that you used is a good substitute for the real piece. What could be improved: The pirate with the torch, however, is not so color coordinated. The red legs and hands don't go with the whole MOC, and why are the hands red? Also, a little nitpick would be the hat that the imperial is holding on to. I think that he would have long since dropped it; I would be more worried about not getting my brains blown out! But nothing to change about that. Overall, very funny entry, and a great way to show the cruelty of pirates. Good luck!

Pretty good, entry, LegoKing. What I like: The whole hectic look is great, and pretty good job on representing that. The shark biting into the body is also good (more on that later). Your stone wall and grass area are well built, and the pirate vs. Imperial is an interesting duel. What could be improved: Like Strawberry said, the tree has too many different parts. If you take off the shrub and seaweed, then use one of the tree pieces, it would look a lot better. Also, the left gaurd looks like he's a statue, just standing there with his gun right in between the duel. So, perhaps you should consider moving him so he looks like he's actually doing something to aid the fight. The shark eating the person is good, but the head just looks too artificial. Some ways you could improve this are to use a different head, put the head on it's side, and/or put more body parts around. The red propeller doesn't seem to have any purpose, as it doesn't really look like blood. Overall, your entry is good, but it could be better. Good luck on the contest!

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks, JD for making the banner, but you have some wrong outfits in there. I'll try to have mine up soon! Bob, thank you for changing those things. I'll have to use a black visor instead of gold, though, if you don't mind. -
Thanks for your feedback, Zorro. 1) The "split" 1x2 trans-red tiles are supposed to be blood that he threw up. I think it works quite well, and differentiates it from the regular blood. 2) I agree that the Captain would look better holding the sword, but it always popped out, or took him out of the studs that he was standing on. The kid who was stabbed didn't have a real hairpiece because of the printed hair, but I see your point. 3) I like the tiles... just a stone pathway... but yes, the transparent piece is out of place, and I'm thinking about replacing it with the bomb blowing up an object such a a sign. 4) I was thinking about adding a rat, but decided not to, as the villagers had just been killed, and the rats would be to scared to come even close to the pirates. 5) What do you mean? She's running away from the pirates... As for the picture size, that's as large as it gets before it goes over the limit, so I'm going to keep it that way. 1) Too cluttered? Hm, I have to disagree, I wanted the scene to look hectic, as pirate pillaging is. I added the tiles for detail. 2)Yes, see my comment above. 3) I said town square because of the vendors and all of the people in it. It's just part of a town square, not the whole thing. I made basically what I could fit. Thank you for your feedback!

Huh? I wasn't complaining or anything, just saying that if it's a S@H Exclusive, why would they put it in [brand] stores? I suppose for people who don't have the internet (which isn't very many)... Ah well. Frown, OFF.
-
Oh, ok, thanks, Santos. So there is to be no chrome helmet, just what we see in the picture. And the fighter... rouge means dark red, right?
-
Great comic, Penguin, I really enjoyed it! Hopefully you will make more chapters, or different stories entirely.

Congratulations TheBrickster and WhiteFang!
JimBee replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
Many congrats to you both! WhiteFang, as soon as you started as a fellow (and even before that), I knew you would make a great staff member, not only your guidance (specifically in the Reviewers Academy), but overall knowledge and attitude has gotten you this position. Congratulations! Brickster, I knew you'd become a staff member all along. Just like WhiteFang, you are very helpful to all members, and are very wise. Congratulations! Congrats once again to you guys, I look forward to seeing you in action. (Now where's that Youtube link to the 'Congrats' song... ) -
The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hm, thank you Bob. Unfortunately, I only have the helmet to your character, and there are some pretty rare parts that you have. Do mind changing it a little bit? Also, your characters name... Constructionmanly is a little... un-star warsy... I don't have a problem if that's really what you want, but perhaps something a little more fitting would be better. Just a small suggestion, and I'm glad to have you in the game! -
Thanks for all of the feedback, so far, guys! Thanks, Erdbeereis! 1) Hm, it was meant to be just a path to the little fruit stand, and I don't have enough tiles to cover the whole thing. Good suggestion, though! 2) Hm, you're right, but I'm not sure how else to incorporate it... 3) Yes, I suppose so, but I also need room for the pirates. Perhaps I could add a little something... 1) See 1 above. 2) I'm not sure what you mean- that is the only clear piece I have in this MOC. 3) See 3 above. Thanks for your interest and support, though! Hm, yes, see 3 above. Thank you!

Use the flower setting on your camera, represented by a flower icon, that should help. Also, don't use the automatic zoom, just move closer to the fig. I only use white paper and an overhead light, with flash, so that should work. Hope I helped!

Vig. 26b Hello, fellow Pirates fans, and welcome to my Pillage the Village medium entry! In this scene, I wanted to really represent the contest theme, so I decided to make a crew of pirates attack the central square of a village. EDIT: Revised Edition, all comments before post with new pics on page 2 refer to original version. Okay, everyone, I've done my updated version! This is basically the same concept, but I added a lot of new items and rearranged some. So to start off, here's an overview: Pillaging and plundering ahoy! Check out the market stands, bench and sign that I think make it look more like a real Market Square. Also, plenty of gore to go around. So, enjoy! The shop owner of the stand with the canopy has been stabbed and ruthlessly shoved into his stand. He's puking out blood, now... a poor villager has been set on fire by a previous bomb thrown by the pirate with the blue shirt. Captain Furious himself stabs an innocent child, spraying blood everywhere. Also note the crushed bench and the stabbed villager. Here you see a few surviving villagers fleeing the pirates. The maiden notices a glint of red as she sprints by, and glance behind her. She wished she hadn't, because what she saw wasn't pretty: a pirate had skinned and gutted the villager selling fruit, and replaced the fruit with blood, guts, and the corpse. The two villagers running, but more importantly, the bomb thrown by the pirate in blue bashing through the sign. If I had made this MOC a second later than the time frame that I did, we would see the sign and the area around it exploding. By the way, the villager on fire has been caught in a previous explosion. Front view of the sign. More pictures here and here. Thanks for looking, feel free to leave any suggestions!

What I meant was the Caribbean... if that's where it takes place, but also England, back in the day. I guess I'm still not being clear... it just reminds me of POTC2, then.
-
It just means "yup" or "remember that", I guess. Sure, let's go with those. Yes... Have S@H exclusives been in Lego stores before? I wonder the significance of that, then?
