Ah, now I see what you mean. The cones are supposed to represent dripping blood. There are three cones in this MOC. One represents blood dripping from the skinned marketer, one represents blood spewing out of another villager's mouth, and the last is blood splatter. As for the rest, I used what I had. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for future MOCs, though!

Thanks, but I'm not sure what you mean by the blood being "uneven". Thanks, Guss. Yes, that's a ton of blood on the ground by the fruit seller.
-
Thanks, Christian and legofreak. I really like all of the minifigs in this set- a must-buy.

I really haven't bought an album in a long time. My last one would have to be the two Three Days Grace albums last November for my birthday. I usually just listen to songs on the radio or youtube.

Very good, SirNadroj. What I like: The white sand was a great idea, good job on that. I also like the tree very much. The barrel buried in the sand is cool, too. What could be improved: A pirate just killing someone isn't really original and "cruel", IMO. Some blood bleaching the sand would make it much better, I think. Also, the pirate is holding the sword a bit strangely, perhaps change that. I wish you good luck, and I'll look forward to your large entry!

Very scary entry, Willabee! I also like ISC's and Sandy's, very appropriate.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
JimBee replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice, thanks Hinckley! I may get the 5th and 6th, and maybe the first if I have some extra money, but I'll have to see how good these really are. -
Man, they really got that MOC to look like her! I especially like the glasses.
-
Guss, the final product is fantastic! So much detail! I especially like the brown cottage and the stubby ship. Great work, I really can't think of anything you can improve on. I wish you lots of luck on the contest!

Thanks, guys! Yes, I think improved this a great deal, thanks for all of the help! Cameron Talley, yes you are right about both: Red slopes would look better, but the Technic wings were the best I had. I'll also update the first post to resemble my revised post.

Okay, everyone, I've done my updated version! This is basically the same concept, but I added a lot of new items and rearranged some. So to start off, here's an overview: Pillaging and plundering ahoy! Check out the market stands, bench and sign that I think make it look more like a real Market Square. Also, plenty of gore to go around. So, enjoy! The shop owner of the stand with the canopy has been stabbed and ruthlessly shoved into his stand. He's puking out blood, now... a poor villager has been set on fire by a previous bomb thrown by the pirate with the blue shirt. Captain Furious himself stabs an innocent child, spraying blood everywhere. Also note the crushed bench and the stabbed villager. Here you see a few surviving villagers fleeing the pirates. The maiden notices a glint of red as she sprints by, and glance behind her. She wished she hadn't, because what she saw wasn't pretty: a pirate had skinned and gutted the villager selling fruit, and replaced the fruit with blood, guts, and the corpse. The two villagers running, but more importantly, the bomb thrown by the pirate in blue bashing through the sign. If I had made this MOC a second later than the time frame that I did, we would see the sign and the area around it exploding. By the way, the villager on fire has been caught in a previous explosion. Front view of the sign. More pictures here and here. Thanks for looking, feel free to leave any suggestions!

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
JimBee replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Ah, thank you, Oky Wan. However, on the CW website, they don't have Episode 3 yet. Hopefully they'll have it after episode 4 airs (which I won't see due to no cable). -
The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
What I meant is that I don't quite understand what you're trying to accomplish here. It would be okay if you stayed on the ship and kind of did you're own thing, but it would be preferred if you don't time travel or take an escape pod for the time being. -
Right you are! Good eyes. Metallic silver is better than bley, but I'd still rather have chrome. Thanks for the pics, Hinckley. The sets mostly look the same. The Assassin Droid BP looks really good, and the clone walker is neat. The AAT is really good, very sleek. The Vader's TIE is awesome, too. The Hyena Droid, however, looks really lame. The Republic Transport is alright. Hopefully we will see some high-res pics soon!

Did I post it in the wrong topic? I was sure I posted it here... sorry! Matteo Kenobi, where do you live? In America, they are available now.

The Republic Fighter Tank is now exclusively in Target stores in America. You can find out more here.

Happy Birthday, everyone!

Oh... umm... hey, what's that over there? But who's fault is it really that it's so inconspicuous in the corner, with all that make-up on? Haha, thanks Sinner. EDIT: Oh, uh, back on topic, I agree that SlyOwl has a pretty good chance for bragging rights... but who knows... I'm looking forward to more staff entries.

Great entry for the contest, Rook! What I like: The ship is excellent, very innovative! I also like the ramp and the ground area (the tiles). This clearly shows the cruelty of pirates, by both the looting and chaining up the lady naked. What could be improved: There could definitely be more cruelty though, such as a pirate throwing a sailor into the water. Also, the boat seems unfinished on the sides. I know it's just a fragment of the whole ship, but I would suggest smoothing those out with tiles. Great work, Rook, despite the small things that may need improving. I wish you luck on the contest!

Very good entry, Adam. What I like: The wall is excellent, you portrayed the inn facade very well. The dock is pretty good as well, and the concept is unique (in this contest) and pretty funny. The person jumping in the water is good, too. What could be improved: Some things that could be better, however, include the water. While it was a good idea, I don't think it really turned out to look like water. Perhaps remove most of the dark blue bricks to draw more attention to the clear ones, and rearrange the blue pieces so that they look more smooth. Also, the hat that you used for blood... like other sections of this MOC, it was a good idea, but it just doesn't look right used in this way. It looks too... solid. Perhaps change it with some trans-red pieces. Finally, the guy with the shot arm should be positioned differently, in my opinion, to look more injured. Maybe have him stumbling or caressing his arm in some way...? Overall, a good start. You had some good ideas in there, but they would look better if you used them in a different scenario. Good luck!

Hello everyone. Seeing Aayla Secura's barbed wire fence thread reminded me of the fence pieces that I need: about 4 of these in white, please. These are worth about 25 cents on BL, so I'm willing to trade some pieces for them. Sorry, but trade only, and within the States only, please. If you're interested, please send me a PM!

Excellent, Oky Wan, can't wait for the rest! I really appreciate you doing this, it should really help new members. As for when we reach Felucia, I'm going to let you guys handle the landing/ ambush, because I'm not really sure about SimonJedi... -
How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
JimBee replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Ah. But anyways, the episode that I saw on T.V last night was not Episode 2. Episode 1 was "Ambush", when Yoda and three clones take down a regiment of droids to gain the Tydorian alliance. Episode 2 was "Rising Malevolence", when Anakin and Ashoka save Plo Koon and a few of his troops from the hunter ships. But the episode I saw was when Anakin flies a Y-Wing and Ashoka is the gunner, and they destroy the ion cannon. Is that episode 3 "Shadow of Malevolence"? Thanks to anyone who can clarify! -

Ah, thanks, Oky Wan, I'll watch a few tonight. Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't been reading this topic, so thank you for the link. Also, why the sad smiley if I am going to watch the episodes? -
Yeah, that would be cool. After seeing it on the T.V show, I thought that this would make for a great Lego set. Maybe in 2011, Star Wars Lego's closing year, they will give us a Venator and/or the Invisible Hand (or Malevolence).
