Lady needs some sunscreen or she is going to fry! And yes, I have that cute little CMS dog! Very nicely done!

Nice scene with honeypot for flowers and cute little Friends puppy! Door for water is brilliant!
  3. Really cute! The overhang is perfect making the upper floors larger while keeping taxes smaller. Colors really stand out, too!
  4. WOW! It looks very real, and the flowing water is amazing!
  5. Love the roof top pool and deck and so many other fine details! Good Luck!
  6. A lovely set up! It makes total sense to me to build a model of a truck that you really like, and then a place to park it....the garage. And what a fine garage it is! Trucks are so special...we grew up with my father's large water tanker truck parked beside our house, and it just seemed like the normal thing to have. Until I was about 10, I did not notice that no one on our street had one besides us.
  7. We are so glad that your family is in Raleigh now. Enjoyed meeting all three of you last night! Wish you well in the building competition at Graham on Sept. 21st. Fingers crossed that your yellow lemon wins! Your idea of keeping a collection small enough to be manageable makes a lot of sense. Most of us have too much LEGO to manage it well. Hmmm!
  8. Y'all are just too funny. LMAO!
  9. Wow! Gorgeous design, especially the arches. Looks like the visitors enjoyed it, too. Any idea how many one by threes you used?
  10. Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now as found on the soundtrack to Love Actually.
  11. Darn right you are, Brick Rally!!! Looks like my kind of party...much more interesting than most for sure!
  12. You YOU! Glad you are back, Pepp. Ready to send out a search party....but then you piped up again. Must have been tough without internet for a week...did you have to build some LEGO stuff?
  13. Chocolate, Hubby loves cake...THANKS! Looking forward to meeting you all!
  14. You guys are imaginative to say the least! Small pretzels are a great idea because they are bite sized and not greasy or sugary. Celery sticks also are a good choice for that reason. A serious survival tip for while you snack: Please do stand up every 30 minutes and get the legs moving again or you could end up cripple. You can set the timer on your laptop to beep at an interval....to remind you to take a short break. This makes it easier for you to build longer hours at a time.
  15. Hahaha! You two guys are very funny for sure! The rest of us will definitely be keeping an eye on both of you at BIllund! Please count me and hubby in; we can run a cabin, and it looks like we can fill the other three beds between chocolate cake, aredhel, Kristel, or any other ladies needing a space. Hope we can fill up another cabin with gals to make the party even bigger!!!
  16. Alan, This is an astounding mosaic of an astounding painting! Congratulations! It is so moving just to look at it. Having seen the film and read the book, it becomes very emotional viewing her face and eyes, and knowing how badly she was treated as a person in Holland at that time. You have a real masterpiece here. Please keep up the fantastic work and thank your wife for letting you spend so much time on your mosaics. Where have you displayed your work for the public? Maybe you should approach the Museum of Art in HK? I think that it would look outstanding on their walls with the other fine works by Chinese artists in their collection. And the Dutch were such well known sailors that the location on the water would do this Girl justice. Good luck!
  17. parks: Wowzer! Hope you don't spill that "good Scotch" on the bricks! spock: Is "air" the new fad diet? It may work if you wire your mouth totally shut and just inhale through your nose. Good luck! All: Ice cream does not work around LEGO because you get so into the build that your forget to eat the ice cream before it melts. Then you get a real mess slurping melted ice cream with a spoon...all over your bricks, computer, and whatever else is on your desk. Uh oh!~))
  18. Just..., Remind me to buy used bricks from you; it sounds as if they would be clean enough to eat off of! OJ is a great drink if you can keep it far enough away from your bricks, but I would hate to knock that glass over in my LEGO room! ( I only drink unsweetened iced tea or water in that room. )
  19. Yup, we all all know you are not supposed to eat while building with your LEGO. But if many of us followed that rule, we would collapse now and then from long building sessions without fuel. So this is the place to describe the less messy (forget pizza and popcorn...okay!) foods you snack on while building. My favorite is to munch on carrot sticks (or little carrots) because they are not sugary or greasy. Second place is a ginger snap from Sweden made by Nyakers. Unfortunately they are not as healthy as carrots and are hard to find in US stores. But they surely are tasty!
  20. Please do hold on to everything you can so that it will still be there if you decide to LEGO again. Also you might consider moving to mini-builds beginning with the mini-modular, which is great for travel. Smaller builds use smaller parts which fit with....you guessed it....smaller space and smaller time to build. Much of life goes round in circles with us returning to mindframes, places and spaces we have inhabited before. We learn in every phase and often go back to something we enjoyed before. Happy travels!
  21. Amte, I just bought this garbage truck yesterday with the same idea in mind...Friendifying it! What a nice MOC! Thanks for showing how it can be done because we women deserve our own pretty garbage trucks, too! I assume this is LDD, and not done with real parts. What is the purple color called and do you know if any of these parts exist and where? Thanks! Guys, Are you implying that our Friends will all look like raccoons after the BIg Spill? Hahaha! Women spend billions of dollars/moola every year to NOT look like raccoons, so somehow I don't think that that set will be a big hit with females! (Don't get me wrong, hubby is the one who exterminates the oversupply of raccoons that contemplate living in our garbage cans. Personally I think that the buggers are cute unless they happen to be drooling and/or are in packs chasing my car into the garage at night.)
  22. We are huge fans of Mr. Popper's Penguins, a seriously FUNNY film! So penguins are right up there for us! And who can forget March of the Penguins, another huge favorite in this house especially during heat waves. And a news van and a cleanup mission at the beach sound wonderful...with the stuff flowing out of Japan at what may become a furious rate, could they throw in some Geiger counters, anti-radioactive protection suits, water filtration plants and air purification gear as well? A survivalist pantry and underground hurricane/bomb shelter could also provide wonderful training for the young. Heartlake City will need an evacuation route with appropriately colored buses and escape vehicles. This could be a whole new Friends "Save the Earth" theme! Living just ten miles from an aging nuclear power plant that frequently experiences "emergencies," our entire family would love some sets to play with that help us deal with our fear of nuclear clouds floating over us. Can't get much more real life than this!
  23. CONGRATULATIONS! Wow! This is one cool set AND REVIEW! The photos are first rate and show the action quite well, especially the Indians shooting arrows while rolling down the chute! The minifigs are first rate also. My favorite part of the entire set (and there is so much to admire here) is the Longhorn skull mounted above the window! It is a very special animal for most Texans as Longhorns ran wild and were highly admired by early settlers....Texas only became a state in 1845 (we all had to take state history and geography....there are 256 counties! in middle school.)
  24. Wow! A great story! Thanks for sharing it!
  25. Finally found a case at WalMart in Morganton NC yesterday...have not seen them elsewhere yet. Love the gingerbread man, grandma, bavarian girl, elf, and scientist, but stilll need a saxman and waitress. These are pretty easy to feel correctly compared to earlier sets. Bavarian girl has two long braids and a pretzel!
