  1. A statement of fact, or a reference to the Starks? I just started reading that series and really wanted to start building some GoT scenes....
  2. Great build again DG! This really captures the essence of the challenge in my opinion. You have an ancient location, that is now being 'lived in', and it really feels lived in
  3. I really need some Gold helms!
  4. Very nice SC! I can totally see the Ecc influence here
  5. I love this! I just ordered some Fall Leaves from altbricks as well....I can't wait to get them!
  6. I like the build a lot. Very nice, detailed build, with some very cool features to it. I just don't get much of a feel of a lived in camp to go along with it. If you have some time before the deadline this Sunday, I would just try to make it feel like more of a camp at the mystic location
  7. While I am a giant fan of the massive builds, I agree that the compact builds often offer more detail. I am also trying to be more detailed in a smaller space. Both for attention span reasons as well as practicality of life! The massive projects get derailed too easily with the distractions I currently have, so I figure I can hone my skills with the smaller more precise builds. As to your sample board, I think that both of those mountain fortresses look very intriguing. I like the idea of the skull cave underneath the middle one
  8. I agree with those above, this is incredible! Great job fitting into the challenge parameters with a build that is very unique
  9. I agree with the comments on the tree especially. Very nice! What's with the ninja...I heard someone mention ninjabomb. I take it that is like a Romo-bomb(from SF Giants)
  10. Yuck! Never had my tonsils taken out, but all of my siblings have and I remember them hating it. Best of luck to her!
  11. Good point! I didn't even notice that
  12. Looks great LD! I really like the rockwork on the ceiling of the cave in this build. The pillars make a good man-made(or dwarf-made) contrast. And yes, I like to use Fleshies at times as well!
  13. Every year Target has polybags in their christmas area, so my hope is to find the Uruk-hai polybag there. It usually sets the day after Halloween, so I will be looking on Thursday for sure!
  14. Wow, I really like both of these! Great, clean builds that are large enough to be minifig size!
  15. Well, I should be back in full swing of building soon. After a rough month, we finally have some progress with my wife. She has a bulging disc in her neck that is pushing on her spinal cord. That is what was causing the temporary paralysis and muscle spasms. While it is not corrected yet, we are setting up a date for surgery and she should be back on her feet and walking within 2-3 days after the surgery. Thank you all for the support and kind words you offered while I was out, we are very relieved that is the cause of all of this, rather than a neurological disorder as was the fear of the doctors. That being said, I will not have enough free time yet to get a build done for Challenge 5, but over the next couple of weeks I am hoping to do more than work, sleep, take care of her and run 4 kids around every minute I have.
  16. Cool build, great crane!
  17. This is awesome! I love this build, it is exactly what I pictured from a Kaliphlin sacred land with a camp around it!
  18. Looks good LD! Glad to see I am not the only one who uses Light Bley in my Kaliphlin builds
  19. Very cool! The joust is one of the better Kingdoms sets, but this adds a lot to it and makes a great layout
  20. This is great! The massive scale lends to the realism,a nd of course the damage to the walls as well!
  21. Very cool! I've been wanting to do a throne room and you may have inspired me to it. Hopefully it can compare to this one! I really like the thrones, but to me the curved wall behind them and the windows on it make this build.
  22. While the PAB new is disappointing....I would say that it was a trade off that was well worth it. Congratulations!
  23. Wow, I was going through some serious withdrawals
  24. Very regal looking figs.....especially from Ximus. He has the archetypal look for a king
  25. I'm glad you captured the feel from that pic that you had posted a while back. The mediterannean feel is so evident here! And like the others, I love the brickbuilt vegetation on the wall
