Great idea for a build. I'm in the same boat, building a scene of the heroes departing their home for a refuge. Glad to see others are carrying out their stories as well!

Angeli....best advice on that 'beast' is that they have a mind of their own and will sleep where they please Best advice....be careful with minifigs holding swords. My 'beast' for some reason likes to chew on those swords if I am not careful and they do not stand up well to the vicious fangs of a feline! -
Looks good Mark! Glad to see you over on EB...I didn't know you were over here too!

Awesome! Great build overall, I've been waiting to see this one! I really like the faierie flying out of the wall. Also, it appears that Zakon destroyed Loki and took his helm....maybe some sort of disturbance in there is making him crazy enough to Friendsify things

I agree with Eryn....the cheese slopes on the corners really look great. Overall a very Nocturnus feel to it, and finally a good use for all those Lime Green Bricks!

It's been almost two weeks and I haven't put a single brick on my free build or started the design a 5th guild challenge yet....things need to calm down! At this rate I'll never enter the University build. -

They are a rubbery plastic...my daughter has this key chain. But she won't let me have it Maybe I should have you send some drow to steal it for me....nah, not from my own daughter! -
I love this entry! The color scheme works great, and the mini vig adds a great touch to the feel of the guild

Great entry Mikey! I love the vignette, but I am really jealous that they had Dark Red 1x2's when you were there....every time I hit the wall it seems there are no rare colors of any bricks -

Looking really good NM! For Starbowl I'd like to have it placed on the Eastern shore of the Inland Sea South of Eastgate, but North of Barqa....probably in the middle of the coast there. Also, I was wondering if you could put into the center of the Withered Woods, The Citadel of the Moon(the Freebuild I'm working on right now), and maybe somehow mark the Withered Woods as the home of the Aridesti Elves. Thanks! -

Good luck Ska! I like the idea of the University, however I will not be able to participate for a while. Between the Design a 5th Guild challenge and the 80x64 Free build that I'm working on, my time and bricks are a bit tied up! I'm hoping I can wrap the Free build up in the next couple of weeks, but it is definitely the largest thing I have ever tried to do and I want it to look right! -
I had seen this posted on someone's photostream from the convention and I was hoping you post it! This really tops all of your other LOTR builds....and that is saying alot based on the prestige of those builds!

I don't live close to a Lego store, the nearest one is almost 3 hours away in Detroit area, but I end up there about once a month for work, so I always stop in. In January they actually did have 1x2 Dark Bley bricks in the wall, so I bought a whole cup! In June, they had the 1x2 L-shaped brick in Dark Bley as well and I bought a bunch of those as well. As far as Light Bley, the best I ever found on the wall was the 2x2x2 slope pieces -
SoT, great job with these. The builds have been very inspiring to me and have helped me to grow as a builder. The stories however are incredible. As Thoy said on MOCpages, in this 3 part series finale, I almost passed over the builds because I was glued to the story! P.S. Thanks for naming the new emporer after me...I'm sure that's where the name came from

Yeah, good luck with the sorting! I have a 10, 7, 5 and 2 year old who all think my legos are their legos...even though I have given them a very large lego collection of their own. It actually gets easier, now that my 2 year old is nearing the 3 year mark she understands the color spectrum much better and will actually sort with me some times! -
Great minds Mikel! I started building my vig for a new guild that is floating islands over Historica.

Happy Birthday DC! Thanks for all the work around here....Hasta La Vista Cadarnold

I really like this build. It seems that larger castles have become a rarity lately, so I am really glad to see this one with the detail you put into it.

Thanks for the bump Robuko! I actually voted for your C4 entry as well, I thought it might have been the most creative of all of them. I too have a great idea already in mind for the mini challenge and will work on it soon. In the meantime I have a free build going that is probably my best build to date. Still a ways off from finishing though, so I'll keep you posted as I go! -
I would guess based on the title(which is nothing to go on really) that this will replace Hero Factory, the way Hero Factory replaced Bionicle

As long as it is posted during the challenge and meets the challenge requirements, then yes that will work. -
Great build again Ecc! I love the style of the walls you have maintained throughout your Ondylion builds. They are very unique and stylized to that climate. Instantly recognizable

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Kayne replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
I will attempt to answer your questions as best I can. 1.) Yes that is about right for the guilds. However, all of them abut each other and while they have a stereotypical landscape, each of them has variation. For instance, Nocturnus is thought of us dark tunnels, volcanic areas and swamps, but has an area near the other borders that is lush and flat. Kaliphlin is a desert, but has areas of vegetation and areas that border the sea. Avalonia is the wooded wonderland of the world, but buts up against dry Kaliphlin areas and mountainous Mitgardian areas as well. And Mitgardia is the colder mountainous area similar to Norse mythology, but it does experience spring and have rolling hilly areas similar to Scotland(I would assume). 2.)See above...really all of them have that type of area at some point. 3.)Typically you will see the Lion in Kaliphlin, but could be made to fit anywhere. 4.)Yes you can...in any of the guilds 5.)Yes you can. Typically there is one main hero, but for instance in my intro, there are several named characters who make up the 'group' that travels with my hero....and I have since added more. 6.)Yes you can...GoH is for us to have fun and improve our skills. Adding a story to each, or having each progress through a story is a wonderful addition to any creation. 7.)There are challenges posed every 2-3 months, but beyond that build whatever you like! Hope that helps! -
Another great build dG! I am really enjoying following the story of Elon, dG and his new bride this summer. That tower looks great...I'd love to see a giant monstrosity of a tower built in that style. The battlements you put at the top of it look very interesting in shape and design. It really helps make this stand out as a unique settlement.
