  1. Thanks for the comments guys! Z-just for feedback purposes, and so I can get better...what don't you like of the explosion? Is it the build of the explosion or the use of it in the build? Just curious, thanks!
  2. Well, supply and demand, capitalism, it's the basis of Kaliphlin....but we also care about saving people....as long as it's still profitable
  3. I think I'll go with the plague prevention and DeGothia. Not my normal style of building, so hopefully I can deliver something good.
  4. When word reached Gabriel in the mountains, that the Jarl was requesting assistance and declaring war upon Galainir, he was ready. After having had suffered the humiliation of losing his home to the usurper, he had been getting ready and building his forces for months, all in secret of course. Now, the time he had been hoping for was finally here. After having gathered his troops and begun the march to the capital, Gabriel and the Darkstar Warriors encountered battalions of Lenfels and Loreesi looking for the same opportunity. After squashing some ridiculous clan machismo and rivalries, Gabriel and the leaders of the other battalions knew that joining forces was the best way to mount this attack. As they approached the castle and formulated the plans, Gabriel shocked the others with what he termed his ‘secret weapon’. “The dwarves of Garheim are tinkers….they will be able to breach the castle walls better and quicker than a sapper.” “I don’t believe it, they’re dwarves. All they know is stone and mining.” Jerik, the Lenfel captain said. Ahmed, the Loreesi captain snorted, but otherwise said nothing. “Just wait, they have created something they call flash powder. It’s dangerous, but in these circumstances I think it’s warranted.” As the siege began, the dwarves loaded a barrel into the catapult and lit the end. As the troops charged the gates, there was a moment of pause as the flaming barrel flew overhead. Then, chaos erupted. At once there was a blast of heat as that of a furnace that permeated the entire battlefield, and the sound of the explosion seemed to felt as strongly as it was heard. The walls erupted in a shower of stone and fire. Gabriel took a brief moment to turn and give just a hint of a smile to Ahmed and Jerik. Then, the fighting erupted. As Gabriel charged the usurpers, it seemed that bodies fell left and right. It was hard to tell what colors they were wearing with the mass of blood and gore. As he looked up his eyes connected with that of the ugliest man Gabriel had ever seen. Clad in black, he whirled chains that ended in blades from each hand. In a blur, the chains whipped through the air and tore apart the soldier just in front of Gabriel. As their eyes met, Gabriel knew he had but moments to react….. I tried to use LED lights in it to light it up a bit, but they just don't show up enough with the lighting for photography. Read more: http://merlins-beard...r#ixzz2ydl0tFPl
  5. I didn't think you were saying I left, but since I know that I am not as vocal as I should be, I just wanted to clarify for anyone who had any questions on my continued existence...I actually only joined LCC when we were in between Book 1 and Book 2 and I wasn't sure how long we would be on hiatus. It turned out that we were not on hiatus for very long!
  6. I haven't left GoH for LCC...just do both! And I still read the forums here every day, I think I just don't chat as much as I probably should.
  7. Sorry for the inactivity lately. I was hit once again by the Kaliphlin curse. Last Monday I thought my appendix was going to burst, so I went to the Doc and I had 2 kidney stones passing at once. Never had those before, recovered over the week, but now I have another going today. Very painful, so I have not been sitting at the computer or the bricks :(
  8. +1 on both claims here as well
  9. Yet another in which I either missed the credits the first time or they were requested later, but I also give +1 to all 4 of these
  10. So, I'm either really slow and missed the UoP the first time or you added in those credits later.....either way I give +1 to all 4
  11. Nice build. I will also give you +1 to both credits. I do think that SK gave some good advice that may help in the future, so I will just +1 that as well!
  12. Very nice build for this category Mike! The beards on the ground are great, but the boats take the show here.
  13. Very cool Hammer! I really like the elves that you made here, but the boat is fantastic as well.
  14. These are great, and like Gideon, I'm a sucker for elves
  15. I think that this is my favorite of the sections thus far....the tower and the tree just look great with the build. +1 for all credits
  16. I agree with Gideon, that it needs more sideways rocks for credit, but +1 on the other credit and I'd also support the brick built animal. Looks great though!
  17. Very cool again, I really wish I had seen this in person! +1 for both claims
  18. Thanks Robuko! I didn't even notice the cropping on that shot, but now that you point it out, it bugs me too. And yes, the capes are custom. I just happened to be looking around for some cloth at a store to use for capes, and that cloth was an almost perfect match for the Dark Tan Lego color, so I grabbed some to use.
  19. Looks good, I'll +1 those
  20. that definitely helps here in Kaliphlin Thanks, kai and wedge
  21. Thanks SK, after buying 6 Mirkwood Elf Army sets, I had to find a way to use those tan octagons!
  22. Continuing the story of Kha as he moves into Ras El-Ahken Link here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=92221 And an action shot of the A'shan Daes who now travel with Kha
  23. I am looking for some credits here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92221 The Gates of Ras El-Ahken Minifig posing for the A'shan Daes, and Fortifications http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91839 Through the Desert for Desert, Life in Kaliphlin and Sideways Rocks Thanks,
  24. After traveling through the Nyika Tupu wastes, and presenting his gift of passage to the A'shan Daes, or The Black Lions as they are known throughout Kaliphlin, Kha shared his story with the nomads. Intrigued by the troubles caused by Revolword, and the current political situation in Nocturnus, the A'shan Daes sent a delegation with Kha to Ras El-Ahken. With his new bodyguards, Kha traveled on and reached the Gates of Ras El-Ahken. At the gates, Kha was not welcomed as the new Lord of the CIty as he expected, but instead with cold diffidence. The captain of the guard carried the writ of Lordship from the rulers of Kaliphlin proclaiming Kha as the new Lord of Ras El-Ahken, however there was a clear lack of respect for the position, or excitement for the arrival of the new Lord. (By the way, we finally get to see Kha's hair....he doesn't like to take of his helmet) Rather than react with outrage, Kha took this all in stride and quietly began to make plans to retake this city in the name of Kaliphlin. He knew that a long road awaits ahead of him, but with strong policy, concern for the citizens, and swift justice, this city could once again regain the fame and proserity it once held as the foremost trading port in Southern Kaliphlin. Now the real work begins.... As things currently stand, it appears that gambling and cards are more important than guard duty I plan to have the next chapter of the story/builds bring Kha to the docks to intercept some illegal smuggling and avoidance of tariffs..... Also, I would like consideration for the UoP credits of: Fortifications, and Minifig posing for the A'shan Daes build
  25. This is great Gideon! That thing looks absolutely solid, as it should for a castle/keep, but the details are what make it. Out of curiosity, are there any other sections that go to it, or are planned to go with it? +1 to both UoP claims by the way
