I love tie fighters... I feel myself really wanting to like it because of that... but the cockpit... I don't know... I mean, its a nice attempt at making a ball.... but... just doesn't quite seem spherical enough, considering there are other ways of making spheres that I think could be better.... I don't know... I'll probably end up getting it because overall it does look impressive as a whole. I've just seen the video... Strangest Lego video I've seen! Felt more like they were doing a 'panel show' rather than unveiling their next big UCS. I know UCS are more about details and not features, but it seemed they were struggling for things to talk about in it so just talked about anything they could. And that wonky sticker below the cockpit screen

Mine is literally about 55-60cm tall (Ive just decided I need to reduce the height of the central section of the body by either 2 plates or 1 brick height) and was designed to be minifig scale as close as possible. That height will work well providing the proportions of its entirety are matched ^_^ -

Then he should hide it with that 'hide spoiler'function, not blab it immediately after. Not to mention it actually has no bearing on the lego rebel set. That was simply a tiny piece of the story which would not affect if we would or would not get either of them. If you want to talk about the series because of surprising/shocking/amazing story plots, do it elsewhere. -

In all honesty, it is completely fair. TLG can put a specialised section of people/person and has the ability to mass produce perfectly the same everytime . A single person will make use of what they can to make a cape look good. TLG should be at the front of designs for everything, capes included, especially when they have been the same for such a long period. But then, it's a kids toy. How many kids really care about the accuracy of a cape when they have a minifigure to play with that simply 'looks cool' and 'even has a cape!'... -

It is pretty much the same as me asking you: Why do you collect technic models for, they always look sooo incomplete, what with all the holes all over the place. Who would want to pay for an incomplete looking model? It is what people enjoy collecting. They ARE different in a variety of ways, but they all follow the same theme. Whether it is the cockpit position/shape, the design of the wings, the shape of it all together... they are similar, but still very different. People buy them because they are aesthetically pleasing to them and enjoy the actually pretty decent look of them. Then there is the collectability. While they are all very good designs and look very similar to their source material, there are those people that want to collect all the possible different varients... because it is simply what they like. It's a personal thing. -

While im biased towards saying the atat because I think the barge is just too lacklustre in quite a few things... Id say it does have nice minifigs. But thats about it. The ATAT has nice average and yet still new minifigs and it is a nice solid build this time round. Personally id go with the ATAT too :p -
I really like this for a realistically affordable set! The size is just right, and it also appears to be pretty well scaled all round, the vertical fin, the wings, and the cockpit (nicely done by the way!) all in comparison to the body which is nice and smooth. The only thing I don't like... is the landing gear... Such nice design for all of it, and then the landing gear looks like you sorta 'gave up' after getting everything else so... perfect :(

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh, don't get me wrong Renegade, I actually really like the set. To me the entire thing seems just right in what it is trying to achieve. I just think the inclusion of the guards which were so infrequently seen, and in low numbers at that are being made too available. When they released them in the BP, they were exceptionally easily and readily available. Now we are having them thrown in a semi expensive (or simply expensive) set when the value they add is low compared to what they could have done with not including them (and thus the door they are guarding) and using the value in more play features in the build, when people can get the guards so readily available. There hasn't really been any heavy call for them in many sets like the Stormtroopers. They aren't a big/average part at all in the film, which is fine... but to include them in a set like this where .... I'm just repeating myself now I hope you understand where I am coming from though? -

In all fairness to them, you are asking too much. To be more screen accurate, they'd have to have not only the steps leading up to his chair, but at the *bottom* of the steps they would then have to have the hole which would create yet *another* level. So making a playset 2 levels high, just so it can have a hole to throw Palp down. That means a fair bit of extra structural pieces to create the height of which pretty much the entire lower level will be wasted as there was nothing else there-just the massive hole. The doorway and 'walkway' they have done would also have to be suspended, unless they got rid of the doorway, which would then make sense to get rid of the 2 guards as we can already get them in a Battlepack, of which the inclusion in this scene I don't find necessary as all the key characters are there already. But still, they'd need 3 levels just to have 2 playable ones with a screen accurate hole on the correct level. While their attempt still seems slightly too 'open' for me, perhaps more floor area could be better... I think they have done a fine enough job of it. Personally, I'd rather they had not bothered with the walkway/door way/2 guards (available with much ease in a BP) and had focused more effort into adding more to the build of the immediate area... but then... it is a playset after all -

Just before September, I got mine for £85. Its box was sorta beaten up but whole, came with both instruction booklets in a used but not bad condition. For a full set box or without, can go for typically between £80 to £150. Depends on randomness. -

While reading the description, all I saw was an advertisement for selling it, not about what it took to make it. SUPER this, CUSTOM that... high end? All mocs are custom built, that is the whole point... -

Considering 10wide is only 2 studs smaller than the UCS 12 stud wide one, it wouldn't make the size difference small enough to be a £100 set or less. 8 stud wide could more potentially be correct for the size/price... -
This is really good! While you have it spot on 'off' the minifig, when you have put it on (maybe it is just the lighting of the picture and it actually looks better/exactly like the cartoon in real life?) the purple appears to go lighter due to the white background of the head on the actual minifig... maybe try an initially slightly darker purple to reach the desired purple that is on her face in the cartoons? Don't get me wrong though, this is really good! Have you printed it on a water slide decal or a sticky clear paper stuff?

The Tie Bomber being one of my favourite star wars ships, I really like this! I wouldn't worry too much about it being 'fragile' as it is pretty much just the rear 3 rows of round bricks that is the fragile part isnt it? Unless you intend on flying it high with potential of it getting blasted out of the sky, Id be fine leaving it as it is as it looks really good to me :) I also like the use of the long bars (with the 1x2 plate attached) on the inside of the wings, nice little detail there :)

I absolutely love this!! Im slightly gutted there arent more pics (that i can find) that show in more detail the AT ATs and how they are built internally, or if they have any form of an interior, but the fact there are 4 of them! They fill the scene nicely. Especially the downed one, that is pretty cool! The working bacta tank is a nice detailed touch, how did you seal it? It literally has everything in the scene, even Darth Vaders corridor! Great job!

It is the specific shuttle that was seen on ROTJ that was used by Han Solo, and Luke to gain entrance onto Endor. I also spelt it incorrectly, it is Tydirium
