  1. Congratulations on completing this project. The Falcon really turned out great. The stand does the Falcon justice.
  2. Although I really like the look of the latest TIE Fighter, I have yet to get one since I already have 3 older Tie Fighters in the family collection. I will probably get one when I find it on sale for the right price. If I was in the position you're in now, I would go with Anakin's Jedi Interceptor and the Endor BP. I absolutely love the Episode III set and will probably get it during the May the 4th promo.
  3. With the latest Shadow ARF Trooper promo, I didn't purchase any LEGO SW sets and I still received the minifig.
  4. This is a really hard call. The Death Star has been out since June 2008 which is a really long time for a LEGO set. At this point it's anyone's guess as to when it will finally be discontinued. The fact that it's still in production tells you how well it's selling for LEGO. Unlike the Death Star, I don't have the UCS Shuttle. It's really a beautiful ship, it just hasn't made it into my collection for some reason. If you're trying to invest in one or the other, I'd be very cautious. From what I've read on various sites, many people are stockpiling the Death Star in hopes that it'll rise in value similar to the UCS Falcon once it retires.
  5. I believe it varies store to store. The LEGO stores near me, continued the promo after May the 5th until they ran out of ARF Troopers. I checked because others were reporting being able to buy as many of these minifigs as they wanted.
  6. If you place an order through S@H, you'll only get one with your order. If you go to a LEGO store, it'll depend on which employee rings you up. You make a lot of great points and I appreciate you taking the time to thoroughly explain your views. It's obvious that we all have a different view on what's fair. I for one can see your points but I have a different philosophy. For me, I've learned that on May the 4th there is a LEGO Star Wars promo and I choose to wait until then to make SW purchases. To be sure I don't miss out, I make a purchase as soon as the sale goes live. I don't consider myself a "true" or "super fan" but I do love LEGO Star Wars as much as the next fan. I have to admit, compared to what I see here on Eurobricks I'd call myself a "casual" fan. There's no perfect way to make this promo work for everyone and no matter what policies LEGO put in place, you're still going to have LEGO store employees interpreting the policies differently. It's an imperfect system. You stated "True fairness would see this open for purchase by anyone". I agree this could work but only if LEGO limited this to one per order or one per address. I know LEGO has placed the "per address" limit before with Collectable Minifigures. But then that wouldn't work for families with multiple children that love LEGO Star Wars. Again, this wouldn't work for everybody. I think LEGO does a good job. Do some people miss out? Of course. There's just no system that will satisfy every fan.
  7. Awesome job. I look forward to seeing more of your "license free Star Wars universe".
  8. I find this odd also since it's going to be readily available through LEGO in less than a month. People did the same thing a couple years ago when the white Boba Fett appeared at NY Toy Fair. At least they didn't know it would later appear in a polybag. It's funny what impatient people are willing to do.
  9. I have been searching the two closest WMs (WM and Super WM) to my house, waiting for the latest LEGO polybag sets to show up. I checked again today with no luck so I finally drove to a Super WM that's about 20 minutes away and my search has finally come to an end. I'll have to admit, I was pretty worried I'd never come across the Star Destroyer or STAP. I found them in the LEGO aisle. Some reported finding them in the Easter section up front. The other sets in the bin were the 8028 Tie Fighter (w/Maul gracing the front) and 30053 Republic Attack Cruiser (also w/Maul). I normally collect 6-8 of each of the polybags as they're released. Since I picked up 30053 earlier this year I passed, even though the packaging was different. I did pick up 8028 x3 since I only have 3 of those from before. There were only 2 Venators left so I brought the little LEGO Star Wars bin with me to the register and asked the lady at the register if I could have it. She said yes so I scored that also. Pretty cool. I'm going to dump as many of my polybags as I can into it.
  10. Just stopped by my local TRU and I scanned CMF Series 6 at $3.49.
  11. Completely agree with your point. It's not too often a year that LEGO offers free shipping and May the 4th is one of those times. A lot of people take advantage of "free shipping" so it wouldn't be fair to just give everyone a free LEGO SW minifig when the promo is intended for LEGO SW fans.
  12. Just to add to what's already been said. This is a "May the 4th" promo targeted at LEGO Star Wars fans. For the past few years, this is the one time a year that LEGO shows a lot of love to the fans of their greatest license. Those of us that live in a place where we can take advantage of this promo are very lucky. I really feel for the other fans that will have to acquire the promo minifig through eBay or Bricklink.
  13. I won't be complaining when I get TC-14. My family welcomes all minifigs into our collection. I'll admit the dark bley hands look off but I can live with it. Beats the rumored chrome Ewok anyday.
  14. My son has both of these sets and here are my thoughts. King's Castle (7946) is the nicer looking castle of the two. King's Castle Siege (7094) is noticeably bigger/taller than the other but it's design is not as appealing to the eyes. The other thing 7094 has going for it is the dragon. If I had to have pick from the two, I would have to go with 7094.
  15. I would go with Anakin's Jedi Interceptor. I already have a couple of Tie Fighters from previous releases and although I really like the look of this newest release, I would still go with the Jedi Interceptor. The Anakin and Obi-Wan minifigs are just too awesome.
  16. I'm almost certain that the shirtless Darth Maul minifig will be given away at other venues such as SDCC or Celebration VI or both. I would wait until then to get this minifig at a more reasonable price.
  17. I think it's best to go into this expecting just one TC-14 minifig for a purchase over $75.00. It's only fair that way. I have been lucky with promos and last year was able to pick up a Shadow ARF Trooper for myself and my son. However as mutley 777 has stated, I hope LEGO stores are strict and follow the guidelines of the promo. I have a feeling TC-14 is going to be highly sought after by most LEGO Star Wars fans and I'd really hate to see anybody miss out. Last year, the Shadow ARF Trooper promo was extended a week past the promo and I remember reading reports that some LEGO stores were selling the minifigs to get rid of them.
  18. Could this be the first time we hear Anakin yell "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"?
  19. Very nice work. My son and I have been brainstorming ideas for creating a MOC w/Republic Gunships and the hangar idea has come up. I really like the way your Gunship turned out. The snot work is beautiful throughout and it really gives it a sleek look.
  20. The thing about this particular topic is that it never gets old. As Ashoka gets older during TCW, she is put through different situations and her character is maturing and developing to the point that we can speculate more on what will happen to her.
  21. Hopefully LEGO will send a post card again this year as they did a year ago with the details of the sale (ie: free shipping, % off, free poster). I absolutely love it when free shipping is a part of the deal. It makes pulling the trigger on a purchase that much easier.
  22. Well put. Two sets per year will keep me very happy.
  23. Since we're on the topic, I was wondering. Is there some kind of identification guide for normal LEGO or chinese plastic here on Eurobricks or maybe on another site? I haven't been on here too long but I know there has been discussion here and there about differenet plastic or ABS being used. I apologize in advance to those of you that have already discussed this.
  24. If Darth Maul follows a similar release to the White Boba Fett promo minifig, it may get released during Celebration VI.
  25. @ ACPin - Thanks for posting your finds and sharing it with the community here. This gives me a month to plan my purchases. Not too happy that the May the 4th promotional minfigure is TC-14 but it sure beats the rumored chrome Ewok. I won't be army building this minifig but I will be looking to pick up a couple. This news is actually going to save me money.
