I'm not sure of the status but as a rule of thumb, it's never a bad idea to purchase sets when they're still available. You'll regret it if the sets are discontinued and you're forced to purchase them on the secondary market. The motorized AT-AT was readily available last year but once LEGO discontinued and put that set on clearance, people were scrambling to find it. The prices skyrocketed instantly.

The Hoth Battle Packs are also on clearance at Walmart. I think most retailers are going to be clearing the shelves of these particular Battle Packs since they've been on the shelves for 2 years now. Need to make way for the new BPs and 2012 sets. I'm sure Toys R Us will continue to have some of these. They tend to have older sets that are discontinued elsewhere. I still find the Clone Walker and Assassin Droid Battle Packs on their shelves and those were released 3 years ago.

Love your review. I particularly love the different pics you took of the X-Wing in hand/action. Even though I have 2 of the older X-Wing sets, I'll definitely be picking this newer one up also.

Thanks for the review on this new BP. I will pick this BP up but I won't be in a rush to. I'm still disappointed in the fact that the Biker Scout minifig hasn't received the update treatment from LEGO. I'd really like to see backprinting on that torso since it's pretty standard on most of the SW minifigs.

Thank you for your review. I can't believe it's taken this long for LEGO to finally make Commander Gree. I'm glad he's finally here. I will pick this set up when I find it at the right price.

Took advantage of the current 50% clearance going on at Walmart. Picked up the following: Rebel Trooper BP x4 Snowtrooper BP x4 Hoth Wampa Cave x2 Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle x2 Slave I x2 PLO Koon's Starfighter x2 SW Advent Calendar x2 Pretty happy with what I was able to find. The only thing I wanted and couldn't find was the Mace Windu's Starfighter set.
