Hopefully LEGO can make something for LotR at 2000+ pcs for $149.99. Something similar to what they did with Diagon Alley for Harry Potter. Or maybe 3000+ pcs in the $199.99 to $249.99 range. And yes, the sooner the release date, the better.

As much as I like the idea, the thought of how much a set like that would cost frightens me.

I'm wondering, if I sign up for this now, will LEGO send my son the packs at the end of his level 2 subscription? We're still waiting for Kit 5 to arrive.

What was the last movie you watched?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Saw The Last Legion. I think the story had great potential but I was disappointed at the lack of massive battles. At one point they mentioned that there was 1000s of enemy soldiers attacking but it looked more like about 100-150. -
Buying and Selling UCS sets
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to interestedpen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Both are really good sets and I don't believe you'll go wrong with either. Both have been around for a good amount of time so you'll have to go into it thinking that it may take a few years to make the amount you're seeking. -
Buying and Selling UCS sets
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to interestedpen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree that losing money is highly unlikely. The great thing about LEGO is there's always someone coming out of the Dark Ages or someone that missed out on a particular set. The only thing you have to do is exercise a little patience and sell when the price is right. -

Now that more and more minifigures are being made with leg printing, I'm sure a lot of the older minifigs will receive updates over the next 10 years. -
Thanks for mentioning this storage option. I was wondering if I could trouble you with posting some pictures of how your setup looks.

Just a little out of the way. With a little patience, I'm sure you'll be able to find one at a decent price. -

There's a local hobby shop that still has a couple of these for sale at MSRP. -

Different lots have different dot patterns. I've already seen two completely dot codes for the Flamenco Dancer and Roman Soldier. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Thank you both for the trailers. I really can't believe Season 4 is coming to an end. These last 4 episodes look amazing and have a ton of potential. Hopefully Season 4 ends with these being the best episodes of the season. I wish I had the will-power to do this but unfortunately I lack the patience to do this. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

If it's released for May the 4th, you'll be able to get it at LEGO stores and through Shop @ Home. -
The question you asked would have been fine to ask in the thread you were directed to. I for one follow that thread very closely because I like the 10179 Millennium Falcon and I like hearing how other members of this board have taken on projects to build their own Falcon. I personally don't mind you creating your own thread and will follow your thread also but I believe that the mods/admin like to keep the number of topics that are similar to a minimum.

Watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes with the family this evening. It wasn't bad but I was expecting a lot more out of it. Not happy with the ending as it seemed to just end. -

Picked up the new Droid Escape @ Target using the current $5 off coupon to make this set 25% more affordable. -
Thanks for the review and the great pictures that show off the high quality of these minifigs.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Here's a link to what I've been using for the dot codes. This has only worked for me at Toys R Us so far. Target seems to have a different system. I have yet to see Series 6 at Walmart so I can't confirm or deny the results. If you're looking for Roman Soldiers, the spear (length and bendable tip give it away), helmet and shield are pretty easy to identify with the feel method. Series 6 Codes CLICK HERE The 3 TRUs that I've been to have Lot 145B1. Happy Hunting! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion

Thanks for the info. That makes perfect sense and goes a long way to explain what I've encountered. The 2 Target stores probably had a different batch than the one's I've been finding at TRU. I can also test this out when Series 6 starts showing up at the local Walmarts in my area. -
I got the Geonosian Cannon a few days ago and it was a no brainer for me. You have a Jedi and Clone to fight the Geonosians and their cannon. Droid Escape on the other hand is just two droids being chased by a couple of Sandtroopers. I will eventually pick up the Droid Escape but the cannon has been immediately loved by my son.

Couldn't help but laugh when I read your post. A TRU sale like this would bring the set price down to MSRP.

Took the kids to see The Phantom Menace 3D. I thought it was nicely done. No 3D extras, just 3D enhancement. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Have a question. I retired from collecting Collectable Minifigures during Series 3 because I had a hard time with the dot codes and the feel method. Well I came out of retirement with Series 6 because I had to get me some Romans. I thought that finding Romans using the dot code would be pretty easy since the dot pattern was pretty distinct. Here's something I encountered and results in me asking this question. I have already gotten about 16 Romans (all from a few different TRUs). I came across something that I realized. A couple of weeks ago, I found Series 6 at a Target and had a hard time identifying the packs since I had just started using the dot code. At that time the code that I thought was the Roman, had the slope block for either Lady Liberty or the Flamenco Dancer in the pack. So I didn't buy any packs because I was unsure of myself. Fast forward to today. Like I've said, I know the dot code for the Roman. I went into a different Target and they had Series 6 in. I quickly picked out three Romans based on the dots. Something didn't feel right so I felt the packages and again I felt the slope block for either Lady Liberty or the Flamenco Dancer. Has anyone else that uses the dot codes found that the code didn't work? The dot codes for both Lady Liberty and the Flamenco Dance are very different than the code for the Roman. Do the packs at Target use a different dot code? -
Thanks for the feedback. I figured that with Bricklink you're responsible to send everything that's part of the inventory for a particular item/assembly. I've always traded/sold figures in the past with their complete accessories. It feels weird to send a figure out without its accessories.
