LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Please no. Anything but this character. Still possible but I'm leaning towards a different figure for the giveaway. Last year, White Boba was shown and given away at Toy Fair and the May the 4th promo was the Shadow ARF Trooper. White Boba was again a promotional figure during LEGOLand CA Star Wars Day and Celebration V. My memory has failed me. Just when I thought I was sure of something I realize that I was a year off. Now what happened between Toy Fair 2010 and May the 4th 2011? -

I've always been curious about this and I have yet to hear any rumors on production facts. I'm anxiously waiting to find out what the May the Fourth promo will be. Looking back at older posts from last year, images from LEGO showed the Shadow ARF Trooper around 12-Apr and on 21-Apr, people started receiving postcards from LEGO about the details of the May the 4th Promo. -

Hopefully the dialogue's just being used for the trailer. I'm sure many characters will make the game that we'll never see in sets. -

The person that started the topic eventually says that the person that guessed Chrome Ewok was correct. I really hope this is just a joke. Either way, I'm getting pretty excited that it's almost May the 4th. -
I've always thought the modulars were cool and I finally bought the FB and GE during the last TRU BOGO 1/2 off sale. I have them but I'm too scared to open them. I bought them now because I didn't want to regret not buying them in the future.

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice display. I can't wait to have some sort of setup where I can display some LEGO sets. Unfortunately that's many years away. Great pics. Your clone army never ceases to amaze me. I had dreams of collecting a large amount of Wolfpack clones but the costs are out of the budget. Like your Gunship mods. I'm locating pieces to mod the Gunship myself. I can't wait to see photos of your updated army. -

Goodness. Wonder if TRU will only mark this up $5.00 like the Hoth Set. -
Review: 21101 Hayabusa CUUSOO #002
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for sharing. Your review has piqued my interest in this CUUSOO offering. I really like that in addition to being a model, there is information about the real spacecraft. I'm not sure if I'll get this for myself when it's released but I am seriously considering getting it for my brother-in-law as a gift. He's a big fan of space and does work on some level for NASA. I already have plans on getting his daughter (my niece) into LEGO but things may go smoother if I can get her Dad into it also. My other sister complains because I've bought her kids LEGO and sent her oldest daughter a Master Builder Academy membership for Christmas. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

Here's their interpretation on what has happened. They both believe that Darth Maul survived the fall in a manner similar as to how Luke fell in Cloud City and he pulled himself to a place where there was a lot of scrap metal/trash. This scrap metal/trash was taken from Naboo to Lotho Minor where Darth Maul fell into the hole where Savage Oppress finds him. Mother Talzin sees in her crystal ball that Darth Maul survived. My son believes that Talzin went to the planet to give him his legs and my daughter disagrees because she didn't send Savage Oppress directly to the planet. My son thinks she will make an appearance in the finale and Darth Maul will kill her. My daughter doesn't think she'll be seen. -
If you see it, buy it. It's days are numbered. It's gone from LEGO Stores and will become available in the USA at S@H on 1-April. Take advantage of the double VIP points while you can. Before you know it, it'll be "Sold Out", and gone forever.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I really don't know what to think of the UCS R2-D2. I was never excited for it and after watching the video, I don't dislike it either. None of the opinions I've read tip me either way. It's not on my want list but I may pick it up at the right price. -
That price-per-piece ratio isn't bad at all. Of course I'm sure a lot of the pieces are small. I'm curious to see how much the set weighs.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well it's rather silly the way a 7-yo(son) and 9-yo(daughter) think. My son is convinced that Maul survived because as he fell down the shaft, his eyes were still open and his arms were still moving. He can't explain or account for how he was able to survive the fall. Of course my daughter argues that his arms were moving because he was falling and the wind was making them fall. She thinks he should be dead because he was cut in half. The arguing really comes in when they speculate what will happen in the next episode. According to my son, Darth Maul will betray Savage Oppress or Savage Oppress will betray Darth Maul. My daughter reasons that Savage didn't go to all the trouble of finding Maul just to betray him. They then argue about the Maul's legs and that they're robot legs like Anakin or spider legs. So as Maul was falling, he wasn't worried about surviving the fall? Instead he focused his hatred towards Obi-Wan and this led to his survival? We know that he survived because of hatred but don't know how he escaped? -

Speaking of Darth Maul's spider legs, I wish there would have been a flashback as to what happened after his duel with Obi-Wan. Specifically what happened after the fall, how he was able to get away, with the aid of who (I know he didn't walk away ) and how he ended up on that planet. It was funny listening to my kids argue how they think he survived. -

I just inspected that piece out of the family collection and the ones we have don't seem to have small dots or bubbles. Are the bubbles/dots throughout the whole piece or just over where it's printed? -
Thanks. Why didn't I ever think of a LEGO shed? Another idea to pitch to my wife.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
@commanderneyo - thanks for posting that interview. There is indeed a ton of stories left to be told and hopefully we the seasons keep continuing. I agree that something will change with Ahsoka and her character may go in a different direction. I'm not really sure that when her story ends, it'll be with her death. I really hope that isn't what happens. A lot of work went into creating her and she's an enormous fan favorite. She's the character that brings my daughter to watch the show. However, I can see her dying and her death leading Anakin further towards the dark-side. Aside from Obi-Wan and Padme, Anakin has an emotional attachment to Ahsoka as well. Surprisingly I have become very fond of Asajj Ventress and I hope that there's more in store for her character. She's a powerful wildcard and since she's no longer in league with Count Dooku, I hope her character evolves more than just hanging out with Bounty Hunters. I can see Maul being around in future seasons. I can't see his character being brought back just to appear in a couple of story arcs. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
My thoughts are a little all over the place concerning the finale and the future of the show but I'll try to gather my thoughts into a coherent post. Since the finale is titled Revenge, it makes me think that a character is going to be killed off. The first thing that comes to mind is the possible death of either Ahsoka or Captain Rex. However after a little more thought, that wouldn't really make too much sense. The person truly seeking revenge is Darth Maul for the loss of the lower part of his body/legs. The person that took that away from him is Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan can't die or lose limbs of his own so the only way I can see this truly being "revenge" is for Maul to take something from Obi-Wan. I have limited knowledge of the EU so I would have to speculate maybe the death of Duchess Satine. That's the only thing that can be taken from Obi-Wan. I rule out Ahsoka because that would effect Anakin more and Darth Maul's anger is focused at Obi-Wan. I'm pretty sure the finale won't involve any of the clones so Captain Rex should be safe for now. There have been a lot of dark scenes in Season 4. The killing of a bunch of the Togruta colonists in the Slavers arc being one of them. I almost feel like we're being desensitized slowly. Maybe this is being done so if death is indeed in store for Ahsoka and Rex, it doesn't hit kids as hard. In my household, my 7-yr-old son believes they're both already dead in Episode III. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Being a huge X-Men fan, I'm looking forward to getting Wolverine's Chopper Showdown. Love the Marvel Universe but never really got into the Avengers for some reason. I've enjoyed the movies in recent years but strictly on the viewing level. -
Interesting conversation. When retailers offer LEGO at a cheaper price than the LEGO Company itself, they are cutting into their own profits. They may do this for many of the reasons posted in previous replies to this thread. We have to remember, as members of Eurobricks and fans of LEGO, we are full aware of how expensive this hobby can be. The average consumer or parent buying LEGOs for their kids are not aware of how often sales come around or what's a good price in LEGO. It makes me cringe whenever I see young kids with their parents/grandparents shopping at TRU for LEGO. From time to time I'll tell them where they can get sets for cheaper but I've been told things like "mind your own business". I rarely say things during the year but I speak up a lot more during the holidays because people tend to appreciate being told where to find things that time of the year.
-
You don't have too many options. With TRU's markup, 15% off a set isn't that great. I wouldn't even bother trying to pick a set up. But if I had to absolutely choose, I would get the Millenium Falcon. It's just too awesome to pass up. I have 4504 also but I have 7965 also.
-
I'd say that person has more than just a loose brick in their head.
-
It was selling for $44.99 at the time that TRU was running their BOGO 1/2 off sale a couple of weeks ago. The week after the sale ended, the price went up to $49.99. I knew a $5 mark-up wouldn't last too long at TRU.
