Thanks for a great review. The polybag sets are small, but still very nice. As you said, there's not much bricks, but the ones included are all very interesting and mostly, useful.

This is definitely one of my favourite entries! It's too colourful, just the way Friends's sets are. All in all, the colours go well together. The shape of the boat is fantastic, and the equipment on the boat as well. Enjoying the pool with icecream, having a small room to relax and read a book, and sunbathing at the top deck! Just amazing! Good luck in the contest!

Being a heavy reader myself, I really like this vignette. The colour scheme is very nice, but my favourite is the table lamp design - the use of the leprechaun's pot is fantastic. Well done!

A very sweet scene! And the idea is original. The colour scheme is very 'friendly'. Good luck in the contest.

REVIEW: 8833 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 8
Redhead1982 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for a great review! It is helping when planning CMS purchase to see some extra details and it's much easier to decide what to get feel for. About the 8th series, although some feel it's repetitive, I like that it's so. This way you can collect (and later used) 'theme' specific figure in one's creations. For one thing, I'm mostly into town, so I like seeing civilians, such as the business man, and lots of female (the skier and cheerleader). All in all, figures from the 8th series are a nice addition to any collection. -
Oh, not again! That's another fantastic creation from you. The way you used 'brick' bricks is amazing. Using a large quantity can be tricky, but this looks amazing. And a combination with slightly rounded windows adds a new dimension, so the whole building doesn't feell 'blocky'. I really like your style of building, so I hope to see more from you soon!

This looks great! Actually, having a 'Landscape building contest' is a great idea. Minifig battle would not fit in well into this peaceful landscape. You did a great job with the rocks, however, my favourite are the trees. The different tree designs really add to the versatility of flora. All in all, it's a great and inspiring combination of trees, rocks, bushes and flowers. Well done and good luck in the contest!

To join in with Holodoc and Purpleparadox, this contest was a great one, and the raffle was a nice surprise. Once again, thank you for holding the contest!

Survey: New parts and new colors
Redhead1982 replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
To add my share, I'd love to see a new window glass mold in trans clear. - Part name: Window 1 x 2 x 2 2/3 Glass with Rounded Top - Part description: --> a trans clear glass (overall shaped like this, but with trans clear glass and not lattice - ) to fill the round window frame - - Part usage: Ever since introduction of windows with rounded top I missed a counterpart of Pane Lattice Diamond. A new trans clear mold would add an overall a better look to a number of city/town buildings including rounded windows. It could be greatly used in City/Creator/Modular buildings/Architecture series as well as other themes with buikdings. Hope I'm not the only one with this 'strange' wish for a new part/colour. -
The colours give a realistic touch to this fortune teller's headquarters. Despite a simple build, I'm pretty sure it was not that easy to capture the dark atmosphere. So what did Emma's ancestor tell the visitor? Any news on 2013 Friends sets?

Honestly, I'd suggest building a large house out of 4 sets, and give/sell the 5th to me. I feel slightly jelous, as I missed that set (went out before I came out of the closet as LEGO (fan)). Seriously though, the Cobra's suggestion to start from the roof sounds great. Most definitely, you should avoid 'rectangular' shape and try something different. If I had your 4954's, I'd play with different orientation of individual sets, to come up with something different...maybe try a central part of a house with two wings on a side. If you take two of the hosues and position them perpendicular to each other, and then add the other two in the same position, but mirrored to form something similar to the letter 'U' up-side down. In that case, you're left with an extra set, to fill the gaps with or... Hope this gave you an idea of what to do, if not, just start some random building and enjoy it!

This train station looks fantastic! You did really great with the MOC. And surprise was even greater when I saw the photo of the ''real'' station. You captured the style and the details perfectly.

This is a really nice model of the haunted house. And not as scary. My favourite are the ghosts outside. Congratulations for capturing a set that hasn't been released yet so nicely. Well done!

This is a sweet MOC. And very Friendly! It's a great idea to include a garden room in the house. It's well built with all a friend could wish for - a nice sofa, and lots of flowers for a cosy feel. Good luck in the SoF contest!

I liked this set instantly. However, the price feels a bit odd in comparison to other LOTR sets. There's a nice number of parts included, most of them are of great use for building, but the price per brick is higher. Nevertheless, the set is still nice, so I'm considering buying it with a discount (if I'll be lucky). Thanks for a nice review!

It's amazing how a release of a LOTR theme inspired so many people to come up with amazing scenes from the trilogy and the Hobbit. Your MOC is fantastic. I like how you showed interesting elements of the dwarf's architecture. The pillars are my favourite. Really well done!

This is a fantastic creation! The different tree designs look amazing and work well together - they show great diversity. The waterfalls (all of them) are amazing as well. It's like almost you can hear the water going down. You really caught the spirit of water falling from high rocks. The stone steps next to the largest waterfall are an incredible detail. There are some details you can only see from up close, so I'm probably missing some. Despite that, the creation is simply stunning! Congratulations for this work!

Thanks for the great review. This set is one of the two that are shifting my interest to the Castle theme. No need to say the other is MMV.

Legolijntje, thanks for that answer. I haven't heard of the mono-brand stores before. It sounds interesting, and it's definitely better than not having a LEGO store near.

Is there any more news on PAB wall in Budapest besides the Facebook page anouncement? There's no info on the store opening at LEGO website. September 14 is set as an opening date, but is this the offical opening? At least I'd expect it to be on the LEGO official page. However, my closest store is in Munich (5 hrs drive), so Budapest is somewhere close to that.

I'd like that to be my own room. My LEGO is currently stucked in a corner between the TV and bookshelves, already occupying part of the bookshelves. And the current diorama I'm building is too big to be placed anywhere but the floor. A room like yours with a huge table in the middle would be perfect for larger displays.

Congratulation to the all three winners! This was a contest with many amazing MOCs and it was really hard to choose just a few. I enjoyed it very much, so a big thanks to all the participants as well.

Thanks for a great and extensive review. I never was much of a fan of licensed sets, however, LOTR series has me re-thinking on licensed sets. What I like best in this set, is a huge amount of various special bricks (such as the 'brick' brick, cheese, headlights etc.) in grays. The minifigs look extremely detailed and with great torso printing, however, the face of Legolas has left me a bit disappointed (he's not as handsome with those high cheeks marks). Also, I'd prefer printed bricks to stickers, but one can't have all. Some of the sticker have a really neat design that could be used on other bricks to enhance the texture of the build. I'm slowly gaining interest in Castle theme, so I see the set mainly as parts pack (and hoping to sell or trade the minifigs will at least partly cover for the higher price).

This is amazing, Castor! You have so much space on that table filled with goodies! Your modulars really deserved a city like that, they're great. Keep it up!

Great little MOC! What really stands out, is the tree design. I haven't seen it before, but it works amazingly well. How stable is it, by the way? Other than that, the scene as a whole has great looks with attention to details, such as the lamp, the cars, garage doors and large windows. Well done!
