That's a great MOC. The Octopus is really nice, and so are the miniplanes. The use of different colours from yellow, lime, red and purple looks great on the model. Well done and good luck in the contest!

You really made a nice scene, and the photo with Gollum and the ring looks great. This could easily be one of the smaller sets from the theme.

This is a nice landscape with a story in the back. I like it and you should definitely try building the castle. I speak from experience, sometimes months are needed to finish a model, specifically of greater size. Trying first smaller MOCs and then moving upwards to a greater scale would be helpful.

Review: 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep
Redhead1982 replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for the great review! I like the set a lot, it's one of my favourite ones from the theme. I loved LOTR books, and liked the films. The recreation of the scene is really nicely done. The parts are absolutely fantastic, while figures with their fine detailing are amazingly done. At the moment, I'm seriously considering getting the set for parts only and selling the figures. However, looking through the photos made me reconsider selling the figs. Anyway, the set is a fantastic creation and it's worth the price with so many incredibly detailed prints and a fantastic selection of bricks. -
MOC: Mini Modular Galaxy Diner and Empire Theater
Redhead1982 replied to sonicstarlight's topic in LEGO Town
The translation from Cafe Corner to minimodular scale looks perfect. This minimodel looks just as great as its big brother. Well done! -
That's a great entry for the contest! The museum building has a very classic style, and selection of some of the pieces (hinges) for detailing is amazing. The building looks the way like every museum should - it's interesting enough to be tempted to step inside. The interiors is equally interesting, with lots of display and different themes. You really managed to use a great selection of bricks in one set up. It's hard to believe this is your first modular, as it simply looks fantastic. Good luck at the contest!

[Pictorial Review] 30201 Ghost
Redhead1982 replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I got it too! I liked this mini set from the moment I saw it online, and I was disappointed as I was expecting it to be a promo set and I won't be able to get it so easily. Except for the Haunted house, I don't like the sets in the theme. After finding this little guy at my favorite toy store (now even more favorite ), I had to buy it. They said at the store, that they had a chance to get a bunch of them and they're selling them now for 3 EUR. The surprise it that they never had any poly-bags sets until now. As for the set, I love the clock design, as it fits perfectly in every house/apartment. And the ghost is actually my first to own. I like its detailed gown and his 'bowling' ball on a chain is a nice addition. All in all, it's a sweet little set. -
You might be disappointed, but Mr. VIP is my favorite part of the MOC. Nevertheless, it's an interesting build, somehow unique in color and architectural style to show off just how special the Black Cat Cabaret is! The rotating wind mill is an excellent touch to add to the eccentrics of the Cabaret. Well done and could luck in the contest!

Fantastic building! As it was said before, there's too many interesting details. Just to point out, my favorite is the diagonal floor. Really well done!

In general, my favourite and most often used minifig face is (the classic smiley) for both females and males. I distinguish between them by torsos or hairstyles. For females, I prefer to use faces with as few lipstick as possible, as I'm not fond of it in real life either. Some of my prefered faces: , and some of the worst ones (in my opinion): , . As for the torso prints with hourglass shape, I don't mind them so much, as the shape is not as visible as some of the 'painted' faces are.

I never knew the change of seasons can be so fast! Fantastic work!

This looks great! I like how the town is evolving, there's lots of activity going on around and some fantastic architectural elements can be found.

Modular Madness: London Joint City and Midland Bank
Redhead1982 replied to LeeMcG's topic in LEGO Town
That's an amazing facade! I like the detailing so far, and despite one colour scheme, it's very interesting! And it looks a lot like its real-life model. -
It's an amazing creation and very inspiring, as all of your work! Thanks for sharing.

The fins are great, and the fish is amazing. Congratulations on winning the contest! You did a great job with Nemo, using only standard bricks and plates.

I'm speachless! Almost, that is... This is an amazing work! There are so many nice little details that give life to the Colosseum. The transtion from roman to modern ages is fantastic and depicts the building really nicely. The fountain design is great, looks very clear and fits in nicely. I've been to Colosseum few years ago, and your build is equally impressive as the original Colosseum! I noticed some of the minifigure torsos - they look 'antique' and I haven't seen them before. Do you mind asking where are these from?

That's nicely done. My favourite is the front and its colour scheme - the darks (tan, red and green) go well together with sand green and the statues give an extra touch. The swinging back wall is interesting to see in modulars. The interiors is a bit crammed for my taste, but I guess that's how it is inside big theatres. Good luck in the competition.

Eiker86, thanks for your answer! That's really good to know. -
LEGO VIP Program Point Problems
Redhead1982 replied to Capt. Thomas Foolery's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have a similar question about the VIP points. I hold a VIP car from the Copenhagen store. I used it for two online purchases (sent to CPH adress) and twice at the store. Same as Multiverse, I noticed I can change between countries (I was checking the German site). Does this mean I can use the VIP card also for shopping at German LEGO stores? So, is anyone using the same VIP card in LEGO stores in different countries? -
Thanks for these tips. I guess that's it, as I'm at work already, and the avatar is friendly-looking. I was starting to think it's a computer related problem, as my phone had a nice friendly picture on as well. And to you, Brickstarruner, the train is fanstastically friendly! Well done!

LDD MOC: Friends FRIENDship Express Train Set
Redhead1982 replied to Brickstarrunner's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's an amazing train. I'd get it straight away despite the pinkish colours. And it makes an awesome avatar! Well done! -
CopMike, thanks for your help! The picture looks much better now. I should really start working on learning how to make better pictures. Coming home from work, I checked the forum, and my old avatar and profile picture were back! I have no idea what I did. At work I set up the new picture, and it was there, but at home it's not... My simple guess is, things are getting too complicated for me.

I've tried cropping the photo, but somehow I can't set the cropped one as an avatar. I'm not sure what I do wrong, so I just left it like this. I'm no expert on computers...

Well done! I really like the effect of building with plates - it looks very much 'brick-built'.
-
Well, I'm not familiar with the building, yet I find it interesting. There are some nice details that give extra quality to the creation (just to mention a few: the sun shades, the green bushes, a combination of studs and tiles on the surface and building with plates that gives a nice brick-built effect). Most of all, the rounded roof is fascinating, also as I can't figure out how it was done.
