  1. Great house design usign hinges to make more room to 'show off' your excellent furniture and interior design. The sunken bathtub and the radiator looks so realistic. You clearly have lots of Friends sets available and you're using them even beyond their potential. Excellent work here!
  2. Another great house! San Franciscan houses are great inspiration models for buildings, as you clearly demonstrated. What I like the most, is how you managed to put everything in, from kitchen, bathroom, stairs from the garage and a bedroom. Excellent job!
  3. Another great modular. The exteriors is very simple, but is also very realistic of a 'normal' Amsterdam building. The scaffoldings add some life to it. The exterior is (again) fantastic with so many details in a small space. My favourite is definetly the TV with the connectors. Keep it up!
  4. That's really nicely done, simple yet realistic presentation of the memorial.
  5. So, I've been offline for a week, and this is what I saw first. It's great to be offline for a while to come back and find an amazing MOC. Cimddwc, you created another astonishing MOC with great details, outside and inside. I'm looking forward to see your police station (it looks very promising already).
  6. Well done. Looks great!
  7. Thanks for this excellent and thorough review. I'm one of those who missed the set when it came out, and I'm almost sure that I wouldn't buy it then. But now, it's a bit different as I appreciate sets for other reasons, too. My favourite are the surf board with sail and then a bunch of small pieces, including the pink cups, taps, chairs, and big transclear windows/glass. One of the downpoint for me are definitely the female faces. My preferable are classic smiles, but these faces definitely have too much make up for me. On the other hand, male faces are fine, so I guess it was all just a try at making a more obvius females. Nevertheless, it's a great set!
  8. Glad to help! Looks perfect now (I may have to 'steal' the design ). Most definitely having an ice-cream truck in your town, makes the town very popular.
  9. I'm not a car expert, but this pick-up looks great! I mostly like it being in all-white (almost, that is). Well done.
  10. The trucks look great, especially the hot dog one. The only thing that looks a bit out of place (to me at least) is the icecream cone. I think it's too large to be sticking out like that (imagine driving under a low bridge with one), maybe you should put it on the roof in an angled position? Despite this suggestion, it's definitely ''a great vehicle''.
  11. Your builds are always amazing and very inspirational! The Vintner street lights are great, and so it the chimney with the greenery. Blencathra is also full of amazing details, such as the trolley with plants, and roof endings with cheese slopes. I'm really looking forward to see more of your work, it's so inspiring!
  12. Looks great! I like how you did ''a modular roof'' with all the greens and flowers. Also, the roses look great with the dark green spiky parts as thorns. My favourite details of all are the golden dishes with pictures. They're briliant!
  13. It's amazing! The landscape is simply put beautiful and very realistic. The waterfall is done amazingly, with interesting techniques and bricks to show it's dynamics, the greenery arond the water completes the landscape perfectly. As far as the monastery goes, it stands upon a greatly built rock, and is just like icing on the cake! Amazingly done and welcome to EB!
  14. I've seen those in Legoland, Germany, Factory store, but didn't find them interesting enough to check the sets they're used in. But they had a huge box filled to the top with them. Also, getting windows and glass in 1x4x3 is an excellent haul. I plan to visit the store in Copenhagen, when I'm there in mid June, and would be great to find those there.
  15. I do the same. It makes no point getting a set for few interesting pieces, as you can get them on BL. Most often I check price per piece and then decide. But I always go for a set that I see fit in my creations, either piece- or colour-wise. The most important for me is to use those bricks latter, so I see no point getting something I can't use.
  16. Agreed! I'm definitely getting at least one - for the parts and the model itself. Although, the model will probably quickly turn into parts, it's a lovely design using some interesting parts.
  17. I am looking forward mostly to the new bluish bicycle, the camper itself is not so fascinating, but the bike, surf-board and red kitchen-ware are great enough. I'm highly likely to get Mia's bedroom, whereas I'm still thinking about the Horse riding camp. I wasn't planning on buying that one, but these last pictures are showing off some interesting details, so I'll definitely consider it.
  18. Definitely not! I'm probably worst. For one, I'm not sure yet which set I'll get, but whichever it is, it will be for parts only. I might trade the figs with my boyfriend or sell it online. I love the books, but I see these sets mainly as great parts packs.
  19. The book shop has great architectural style, and the interiors is amazing. Being a 'book-worm', bookshops are my weak point, and the same goes for this one. Book covers in different colours make it very vibrant and I'm sure I'd spent a lot of time inside. Well done!
  20. Thanks for the review, Cwetqo. Indeed, the most fascinating thing about the set is that you were able to get it so early! A hospital theme is very welcomed, and although that's what the set is about, it doesn't have any other special appeal. I see it mainly as a 'parts-pack' for MOD- or MOC-ing your own hospital. The set definitely has a potential for that, but one needs to put in some effort. The doctor figure is one of the highlights in the set (a pro&con at the same time). The printing design is great, and could be used as a lab coat, but the colours on the legs are really poor. I sure hope it will be corrected in the future batches (either to white, or perhaps the torso to light blue to match the legs).
  21. In Germany, they have an actual tent with merchandise on sale. I didn't really see anything else, as they had four huge buckets (approx. 1x1m2) filled with mixed bricks, it looked like some 'leftovers' (and I was too busy to take pictures ). You can fill a bag (a transparent one, similar to a large PaB cup volume) for 20 EUR which is way cheaper than the Factory store. On the other hand, their choice can be very limited, but it's worth taking an hour or so to go through the pile. My lucky finds were old gray plates, bricks, slopes and tiles which I had none, and I'm planning to use them on my current project. To Legoland in Germany, I have a 540 km drive (5-6 h), passing state borders 'twice'. Usually, at the end of April travel agencies organize trips there in the week of school holidays, and that can be much cheaper then driving there on your own. But it takes longer. Since I was planning the trip, I was able to hold back from BL orders, so I had a pilesome money left on the side.
  22. I finally made it through the pile of bricks from the Factory store. Overall statistics say: that I bought around 6990 bricks (might made some mistakes counting the lot); weighting around 3,7 kg (according to BL); according to the Factory store's price, I payed 332 EUR; and buying the same amount on BL for minimum price, the amount would be slightly higher - 485,5 EUR (only European stores included); the difference of 155 EUR covers my expenses for the trip and entrance fee (80 EUR); considering buying them all from BL stores, it would be impossible to get all of them for minimum price, so the average price was calculated to be around 800 EUR (based on the lowest price for the amount of each lot), not including the postage; the price difference is mainly attributed to some special bricks that I was able to get in large amounts for more than half less than on BL; my reccomendations for others aimed at this store is that you should think in advance what you want, check the prices and weight in advance to know what you're dealing with (example - approximately 125 1x2 bricks make 100 g, meaning the price/brick is 0,072 EUR, and go for your bricks of interest with price the same or higher). The aim is to identify bricks of interest with low weight and price higher than 9 EUR/100 g. To keep in mind, that the store is not included on Brickbuildr's PaB Wall, it depends on luck what you find there. I hope this will help some one identifying at least some of the parts at the Factory store. I still have to go throgh two bags from the Sales tent. Same as cimddwc, I got mainly very small bricks, some in old grays, and 1x2 dark red bricks. The best plan is to go through the tent first, to see what's there, pick something up, as the price is very friendly, and only then go to the Factory store (if some money is left).
  23. Yeah, they had 2x2 DBG tiles. And they were a good bargain (paid less for them then I would on BL). That last female is bald because she lost her hat! Actually, I was shopping with my boyfriend, and the offer was 6 minifigs with one accessory for 7 EUR. He took 2 minifigs, and wanted an extra brownish hat. The haul was great, I'm currently working through the price comparison with BL prices, and so far I'm on the plus side. But it's also very likely I wouldn't buy 5 kg bricks at once on BL.
  24. In respect to the fact, that Legoland, Germany is one of the few shops missing at Brickbuildr's PaB, I was expecting it to be small and not of much interest. That's part of the reason I started this topic. After seeing it, I understand that lack of info and pics about the store is due to its large size. Really, the Factory store is well stocked on some interesting pieces. On the other hand, some bricks are expensive at 9 EUR per 100 g. I'm actually doing a list of what I got, and for now I did get some rarer bricks for less than would pay for them with BL's minimum price (1x2 sand green, dark orange, tiles, plants...). My plan was to get the smaller (lighter in weight) bricks, and preferably in colours that I 'need' in larger quantities (such as dark bluish gray 2x2 plates for street infront of modular buildings). Sales tent is also interesting, but it's not open all day. It was exhousting, but I filled two smaller bags (comparable to large PaB cup) for 20 EUR each. However, they only had small bricks (1x2 bricks and plates, and smaller), so it was a challenge picking them out. My favourite parts there were various grayish plates, including old grays (which I had none). The minifigs in the Factory store were a nice selection as well. I got four of them, and all the torsos cost more on BL than I payed for a complete minifig with one accessory. They had some newer (and rarer torsos), that turned out to be a great deal.
  25. This is a neat design. In my opinion, it might be a bit too big for minifigs, but nevertheless, its trim is perfect and the gardener should get a !
