Got to love that Furno Bike! Got super excited when a friend of my brother's gave that (along with a brick-ton of other Bionicle/Hero-Factory items). Just love the orange and silver and at the time Furno was my second-favorite. Really wish that set had given him leg armor, but ah well. Von Nebula was a pretty sweet looking villain at the time too, and I really wanted to get my hands on Rotor. It's a tie between Meltdown and Xplode for the smaller villains.. If somehow they were combined into one, that would be my favorite villain set ever. Really enjoyed Raw-Jaw from the Savage Planet wave. Breez from the Breakout line was fantastic for video-game related reasons, and of course because she's Breez and is my favorite character. Evo's tank arm was great(just the arm name was enough to have me go get it), and Core Hunter.. Period. Core Hunter has to be one of my favorite Hero-Factory figures ever. I seem to like a lot of Red and Yellow figures. Pyrox was and is my favorite Brain-Attack beast, and Breez once again is my favorite in that line, right beside Surge. And Evo's mech is my favorite so far. Soooo yes. Cooleeoh :P

Man, look at that fire-power. Those are all flick-fire missiles? Sweet! Doesn't look like the missile missiles function, but that's alright- I like how they look here> And all this clips on to the back just like with the cool yellow guy (Shellshock) from a while back. Really like how this guy looks, and it's nice seeing that Corroder helmet being put to good use too!

Aww! Who's a cute little jungle cat? Who's a cute little jungle cat? I'm going to pet you- Hey, ouch that hurts, no, No-no, OH GOD, NOOO- That's a seriously cute tiger. I'm amazed LEGO hasn't made a physical tiger for the Minifig line (I think there's one for the Duplo range now, not too sure, but size-wize it wouldn't cut it for Minifigs or Friends dolls) but now that there is I'm glad, as I'm sure others are too. Looks a little cutsy but this is Friends we're talking about here. Probably isn't a good idea to be near one after going to or working at a LEGO butcher's shop no matter how small it is, but I digress. I like it's little house-thing, and I agree that it does have a certain Oriental feel to it. Very fitting. And she (i assume) has a little chicken leg. Yum! Cat in a box. The perfect cat trap. Looks neat! Thanks for the review. :)

Andrea's looking faaa-bulous!! Not just because of that nice orange and white outfit, oh no! She's got it all in her room! A bed that can fold into a bench, her make-up dresser and that stand with all those perfumes(girl's gotta have those accessories!), and even a laptop so she can share her make-up tutorials online with the world, Tweet to her girls to come over for a SLUMBER PARTY!! AAAH!!! ...or maybe finish that cool sci-fi novel she's writing. Who knows! Looks pretty good for a small set. Friends sets all seem to have that in common. Thanks for the review, really enjoyed it :)

Cook-kiees!! Om nom nom, nom nom.. :P That's an exciting little piece to have. Cookies! And the Friends line has a milk carton somewhere.. so they're all set for when Santa comes to town. Or me. They need an eggnog carton... Seems like a nice little business for Mia to run in the Summer, be it in Heartlake or around the LEGO Cities/Suburbs/Villages/Whatever land Chima takes place in/Caves where the cave-figures and that one new Yeti-figure from Star Wars lives (maybe)/etc. You get it. She's got transportation in a scooter that looks very, very cool. I do agree about that taillight. What if it's dark and she stops at a light on the way home? There's no way a LEGO car's going to see her without it! I also really like that Lemonade sign. Wonder if she painted it or if it was a custom print at their version of Staples? I mean, they've got a Jamba Juice-like juice shop as an actual set, what's to stop them from making a paper and computer supplies store? Again with the cookies, and those little cupcakes, and I like the juice-dispenser a lot. I also like how adjustable that stand is. She can serve lemonade on a straight street, with it closed all the way in the middle of a park, on a bend, she can work a corner.. that came out wrong. No but really, on an actual street corner in a LEGO city, this would work very, very well! With all these Friends releases, I really want to pick up at least one set, and this would do the trick for me! At least... to get me started. ;)

To me, it looks like the kind of heavy mech that Bulk or Evo would operate, almost as if Bulk was meant to get his own machine, but accidentally damages the HF tower while testing it, and so it's repainted and given to Breez. Having said that, I really like it. It's a solid looking build with a well-done color scheme. Really like the red lights on there. Not a huge fan of the flamethrower but if the Pyrox flame part was replaced with the green flame from Toxic Reapa, one (me) could pretend it's knockout gas, seeing as Breez is more the animal lover/tamer than the beast killer, you know? Again, very well done. I wonder- will you be creating any more mechs, or possibly designing a larger Beastie for Breez and her new ride to fight? The "Flyer Beast" looks a little on the small side compared to this thing.

I quite liked the original design of Bruizer, being a rock monster with a swinging club arm and all, but I do like your Brain-possessed Construction worker idea here. Really dig the beer belly :P and the orange shells on the upper legs bring that orange down a little and I like it. I'm not sure how I feel about the odd black extension for the brain, but other than that.. not a bad revamp!
-
Reminds me a bit of XT4 and I haven't the slightest why :P Really though, it looks cool. I've been trying to make a believable buzzsaw attachment with a Stormer XL foot, but this looks way better. I really like that he's got a Breakout-esk-looking gun, but I think to change the plasma sphere to red or yellow might be better. Knee pads too? I like it! :)

Xplode! Alright! I like how he's built around the 1.0 torso. He's still got that spine in the back and it harks back to the original set. (Just recently used a 1.0 torso myself in a MOC.. with all the axle connection points, I'm surprised more people aren't experimenting with it!) I like how the red shin-armor has moved down onto the foot. Makes it feel like one big armored boot and I like it. He's well armored and has lots of explody-spikes. I like it. I'm not a fan of the dark orange on the original creation, though. I much prefer the bright yellow, though something about the keetorange looks very appealing to me too. I'm also not a gigantic fan of the red hinge bone used on the upper-legs. If anything I think it should be black, to match the torso and the original set build. This has me really tempted to go and rebuild Meltdown and Xplode with my parts this way. It's very appealing. Great work!

I l-o-v-e _shaddow_'s alternative Beast combiner! Just dig all those spikes on the back, and the plain black beast heads being used as a pincer claw. That's smart, that's really smart. I really like the tail as well, for some reason. Must be all the azure. Leewan's alternative creations look great too! I'm a big fan of Rocka's little walker. Looks like it could be an official summer-wave set! I'm not sure about the trans-apple claws on the back. Are they just there to be there, or do they serve a specific function? Either way, I like the little walker a lot, and the Fish-Beast looks pretty cute as well. :) I'm interested to see the glow-in-the-dark parts.. and to see the Queen's wings up-close and personal. I'm curious about them.

I really like that color scheme, and what I assume is an electric stun-staff. Very cool!

I wonder.. were Nex and Stringer not as popular as other characters? Or did their sets not sell well? That might explain why they weren't included this wave. Still, I feel like we could have used our favorite Techie this time around, and Stringer too. On a different note, I like the look of the Surge walker machine thingy. Looks interesting. I wonder how the winged part will connect/disconnect?
-
I'd just assumed that Nex and Stringer branched away from Alpha Team and made their own little music group called "Foolish Ruffian". If you can't tell, that's an attempt at a "Daft Punk" joke. I fail. Anyway, the creation looks alright from afar, but it's too far away to tell anything. And the lack of orange or green leaves me wondering if that's even Julius at all! Just saying.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing some 5M length cladding in medium lilac, since we now have yellow. Or perhaps some more "Keetorange" colored parts? I'm super happy that we're getting the "Captain America (Ultrabuild)" add-on armor parts in lime. I wonder what other colors they'd look good in..

Just saw the new episode. I've got mixed feelings about it. I like the new opening introducing the Heroes. They all look shiny and the group shot reminded me of the old Bionicle promo shots from back in the day. The new Hero builds look great, as do their machines. So nice to finally see them in detail. I found it nice that Surge has a double-cockpit machine but it does include Rocka in what I assume is his third set for the wave; and we get to see a new combiner machine! There's a few funny bits here and there. I like Evo and Furno's dialogue after taking on Splitter-Beast. Breez finally gets to use her abilities again, and we see them monitored as well. And, I think this is the first time we see a Hero without a helmet, or removing a helmet after battle. Nice touch. I'm not a fan of how all the male character voices sound like they're the same person. Sure they have different tones but it isn't hard to tell that one guy voiced all those characters. Some of the dialogue just felt forced. Bulk's line at the end before the Heroes get on the drop ship is one I cringed at. And I just feel like the whole plot was wrapped up a bit too tidy. Two other things I've noticed: -Surge has gained an Aussie accent. -The mayor of whatever the city is called (I know it starts with an A) has a paint job that looks like a suit. It isn't a bad way to promote the products, and in fact it has gotten me rather excited for when Wave 1 hits the stores, but I do feel some things could have gone a bit better.

That Bulk image makes me wonder what color his minifigure's head is going to be- black, or bluish like his eyes?
-
Thank you! It looks so much better in person, trust me. Or looked, rather. It's taken apart now!

I'd forgotten about those groves on the engine cladding.. I rather like the shoulder additions you've added. I would prefer if they were gunmetal to match the rest of the build, especially since the head is no longer silver, but it isn't a big issue at all. The new helmet seems to fit in better. Fills out the large gaps that were present with the old helmet. May not be the most 'feminine' on first glace, but that's why we use imagination, after all. And I really like seeing Caitlin in some action poses. Compared to Evo, and probably to any other XL out there, she is certainly a big build!

So a while ago( what was it, last year?) I had an idea, before the "Breakout" episode came out and the idea of a 'Villain Factory' wasn't so talked about in Hero Factory, I decided to build a drone 'prototype' for some bad guy army. Basically just wanted to use the canister-thing in the Nitroblast set as a helmet. It worked.. sort of.. and I went from there. Used some older 'Bionicle' parts on there as you can tell. The Skrall blade for an antennae, the Whenua Metru masks for the shoulder-pads(wish I'd done that better), and the Barraki feet. Mantax I think? I added the Hero Cuffs on later, once I'd gotten a hold of a Breakout set that included them. I think they were from Rocka's set. Man that was cool. It's been nearly a year since these were taken, but I wanted to share my creations anyway. Now that the computer is deciding to behave itself.. here they are! (I've resized the pics and for some reason they still keep coming out too big. Apologies in advance) Front: Back: Alongside Hero "Citrus" Using Citrus' cuffs against her I had a photo of "Citrus" on the ground after, but sadly it has been lost. And "Citrus" was your average Hero build with a foot on the back. Nothing special, but one of my favorites for some reason. Later, like December later, after "Breakout" had been released, I decided to get a little creative with my pieces. I looked at the Super Hero add-on part and thought 'hmm, what can I do with this?' So I did this: I hope I haven't posted this already! It's just a face with a mustache. And bling. Hope you enjoy, hopefully I'll have some new things to share(or new photos of new MOCs to share) very soon :)

I try. I don't suppose you still have that head constructed? It sounds interesting and I wouldn't mind seeing what you had before this head. If anything, in a back-story this Hero could have been assigned as some part of the 'Savage Planet' Recon missions, and have taken a liking to the upgrades and improved upon them to make what we see before us here today? The body would work rather well as a villain or as a beastie, but the more I look at it, the more I think of the other potential it could have. DraikNova's suggestion of the 'villain core'/engine pin-part (like on Fire-Lord's chest or on Drilldozer) would work in filling in for the Hero Core if you decided to go that route. I could easily see other 'accessories' be placed there as well. Perhaps those Silver Barraki eyes would work. I'd hate for this to have to go the route of others with the paw hands, with the paw being placed in the middle of the bone instead of on the end, so you can get it to 'hold' something.. I'm happy to help any way I can. I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

That is impressive. Doesn't strike me as a HERO-character though. The silver of the head and the head's size itself seems out of place when compared to the rest of the build. They really do need to release more of those parts in silver, and more often methinks. I get that it's meant to be an XL, but personally the way it is now I see it working as more of a villain. Perhaps a tool/weapon might help with this, or perhaps adding another color into the mix to even things out? The fact that she has claws on both her hands and feet takes away that HERO feel a little more Having said all that, I love the build. It's very well armored, with very few gaps from most angles. I know the legs were mostly derived from Christoffer Raundahl's MOC as seen in the link but I can't get over how great they look! The fact that it can stand on tippy-toes makes it all the more impressive. I know the head looks a little out of place, but perhaps adding some more square armor to bulk up those shoulders (1 square armor piece to one 4 or 5 long cladding to one ball and a blue +/o axle thingy, and all that would be attached to the empty hole in the red bones used on the shoulders, if that makes any sense) would improve the look of the entire creation as it is now and make that head look more like it belongs there. EDIT: I forgot to add- the rest of the torso looks great. I like the use of the new Zamor launcher parts here, and the fact that you were able to give her that sort of hourglass figure, admittedly in a subtle way, but still! I'm not sure if that was intentional.. was it? It looks great, but I believe with a little tweaking it can be made to look even better. Why didn't I just say that? Sheesh, I talk a lot

One massive mech against two tiny beasties? What is this world coming to? Seriously though, I love how the set looks. Far better looking than that "Walker" type set, in my opinion. The gunmetal and yellow work great together, and the trans-apple-green parts work rather well on here methinks. I do wonder why Evo keeps jumping to different colors, though. Purple, then red, then blue, and now appley-trans-green. Anywho, I like the torso-spinning function here. The mech doesn't have to have a 'spine' in the build like some of the others do and I like that. The gear function brings me back.. ah. Not a huge fan of where that hand is. Seriously, they couldn't do what they did with Stormer XL and give it a wrist? I'm sure they had some kind of logic behind designing it like that, but I am perplexed nonetheless. The other arm is brilliant in build and looks. Wonderful use of the new system. I can say less for the legs.. but they still look bulky and robotic. Oh, and missiles. Gotta love those missiles! This is definitely one I have to pick up. May not be perfect, but, come on- it's Evo, he's in a huge machine squashing tiny bugs. And it gives people a reason to buy a larger 'kaiju' beasts for it to fight.. like in the trailer for that new episode. Man, I want to see that! Great review, thanks for sharing it with us :)

Kind of figured Stormer would get his own machine. He is(or was- the whole Furno taking charge thing in 'Brain Attack' confused me) the Team Leader, he needs a machine from which to do some heavy damage.. and he's got it. Simple in build, like Rocka and Furno's machines, with the one torso piece and everything built around them, but I like it. Glad this one has a wrist for the fist(I'm a poet haha), and I like the white turbine for the spinny ice weapon here. While the orange is okay on the missiles and the light.. I'm not a huge fan of the orange for the suit. Better than green, because the color isn't anywhere else on the mech, but still. Also I must say Stormer's helmet looks the best out of the lot. Doesn't look goofy or too round, and still retains the overall look he had before. I will say it's missing something. Not sure what, but it just needs something to give it that extra oomph, you know? Hopefully we'll get to see more of this in action in the episode, and when the reviews start popping up around March :)

Nice to see Breez getting the chance to shine. Hopefully, whenever the episode airs, she'll get more lines, and have a chance to use her special ability. Perfect chance, considering.. well.. the beasts attacking the city. Speaking of which.. azure and yellow. I like it. The wings are a little too skeletal for me, but in the trailer for the episode, it seems to work well for the beast. I like the scar on the eye.. wonder what happened there? That claw-arm would be better if it had an elbow or something, but I still like the multitude of those new spike parts. I'm still really digging those feet. Breez's helmet looks weird, minifig-style. Not as swoopy as the original. Shame. I do really like the thrusters, and the way you get to put her up there, to control the beast like a bull. Wish she had a mini-mech or something. Or a gun. Nothing says 'animal lover' like having a gun :p I'm sure a mech could be easily built for her. It's nice that she's getting included this wave. If I can get my hands on this, I'm sure that I'm probably going to make whooshy noises with the beast as it flies through the air :p

I got a smile out of thinking what logic Hero Factory were using when they thought a splash of gold on a 'stealth machine' would work. "Alright, it's all ready to go, Rocka." "No wayz, Zib. If youz think I'm gonna pilot that thing versus all those monstahs, think again." "We'll throw in a little gold." "Alright. Cool. I'm in." Joking aside, the gold on the arm is kind of distracting. We've got the big shoulder pads on the other gold parts that just make those parts look like detailing. We want to be sneaky, Rocka. We don't want everyone to know that you're coming. I do like the machine though. The colors all match the usual Rocka scheme, so I like it. The claw is an interesting tool here, and can be an interesting weapon as well. The Zamor cannon looks well at home here, though with all this bulk I was kind of expecting the more obvious choice for a machine like this. I like that Rocka can actually catch the kaiju and contain them. Wonder what he does with them after? Mmm, fried kaiju legs with a little bit of cajun pepper.. Looks neat, poses neat.. May have to pick this one up.
