  1. True Trans-Yellow for Furno's head? It's a dream come true! Wish there was less hand in the video review. I'm happy with how the set looks otherwise. Wish I could see the back, though.
  2. Never would have made the connection. Surge would be like Hahli but with yellow and Surge.. is a dude. :P
  3. That is a cute little Christmas train :D It's simple but it looks just like a little toy train, loaded up with more toys! I'm surprised there isn't a LEGO set hidden in the pile of toys there :P Great work on this.
  4. A great step up from the little yellow truck. The blue looks different, but it's a good kind of different. I really like the warning stripes :)
  5. Stormer couldn't just sit this one out, couldn't he? Stormer himself is pretty cool. I see he has a trans-ice-blue version of the blade that Furno and Rocka have. It would seem he has new ice-cladding on his shoulders, they look neat, and he has flick-fire missiles back there behind his head. The helmet looks pretty darn good, I hope the head behind it is actually in blue instead of green. To me, green on Stormer wouldn't look right. I think, like with Breakout, LEGO is very excited to show off the new summer sets ahead of schedule. That Ice-Slug victim looks pretty bad-A. So much trans-ice-blue, a White Super-Hero 'Peck' add-on part, a white Savage Planet paw.. and the head looks fierce. I still can't believe how cute Pyrox looks before he gets his nose ring.. oh yeah, and the brain and all that. Shame they didn't show Bruizer or Scarox getting taken over, Scarox's would have been cool. I wonder why the Orgum had cladding.. I would have thought the 'Brains' would have made them cladding during their transformation. Oh well. Moving back to the Heroes- Evo's got blue, which is the closest we'll ever get to seeing him in purple again, what a shame. Still he looks decent, I rather like the blades, his helmet looks the same mostly, and he has a backpack. Cool. Not much can be said for Surge, other than hecks to the yes! He's got trans-yellow cladding, and awesome wings. Also, in video, Breez looks sleeker, Bulk looks redder and less silver-y(seriously guys, come on), Furno looks twice the bad-A, and Rocka.. Rocka's kind of meh. Lightsaber-looking sword is cool, though. Stringer and Nex are still MIA, right? Lineup looks impressive so far, can't wait to see the episode, and what Stringer and Nex look like.. and what their opponents look like, too :D
  6. My all time favorites include most of the Toa Mata(it took a while for Pohatu to grow on me), Axonn, Keetongu, Mata-Nui (the Glatorian), Ackar(he's such a mofo, and according to Greg, his looks inspired the Great Beings, which is why Tahu looks the way he does apparently), Gali as a character, Roodaka, ... It's hard for me to narrow down the list. I have so many favorites. I loved the sets, I loved the story and the characters in it, and I always will.
  7. I'm glad to hear it. I wonder what the Batman would chase down in his Batmotive.. maybe The Joker on his Crazy Train? :P
  8. While it does appear a little messy at first, I think the bot-form works out rather well. There's bulk, and the wheels are placed just right so as not to get in the way of the usual 13 points of movement. I almost thought the vehicle mode was a completely different MOC all together. It looks that good as a vehicle. Truly a great 'Robot in Disguise'! I don't suppose you'd have any plans to try other vehicles like this? I'd be interested to see what you come up with..
  9. I see the Kongu in Bulk's helmet there.. if only a little. It's hard to say if I like it or not. Only got to see a little bit of it, rest was obscured by the hands. I'll wait for the picture reviews before I decide if I like it or not, or at least until LEGOJANG of Youtube eventually posts the review..
  10. I don't know why you'd want to take the pads off the combiner. I think, personally, they add bulk to an area of the body that otherwise doesn't have much bulk to start with. I'm thinking if I were to build the combiner, I would move the pads to the upper legs, and turn the cladding they're attached to so they are 'sideways' on the bone. More bulk near the torso, leaving lean looking, Breezy legs.
  11. Well there's a pleasant surprise. A nice jump back to Bara Magna, with a new character, who looks pretty cool. His build looks pretty solid. I like the 'stolen' Skrall armor on the shoulders and chest, and the Knights Kingdom armor works pretty well here with the whole 'bad guy' motif. The way it's built is excellent. I can't find any real flaws here. It feels almost like this is a prototype set, with the way it's built, almost ready for mass production. That's how much I like it Great job.
  12. Breez looks a lot better in her new incarnation here than in any of the promotional pictures. I love the new helmet, the visor is elegant and really nice to look at, but it is a shame about the lack of detail on the head. The head itself looks great, lots of function. It's a shame the new helmet doesn't work with the old heads, but I'm glad it works the other way round(new heads work with old masks). The clip-rod on the back was a pleasant surprise, thought it would look different somehow. Breez's appearance, again, looks better than the promo pictures. I like the dark and lime green on the torso, and the trans parts on the legs don't bother me so much. Even the gunmetal shoulder pad, which I thought clashed before with the silver, works now thanks to the dark green. The brown part on the back is different. While the back is still open, there is now a place for Breez to keep her shield. I rather like that, and I can even forgive the lack of back armor for that function. I'm glad Breez has a narrow torso now too, it's a part I need and it looks more, ahem, 'feminine'. However, I find a tiny part of myself missing the muscular shoulders from her previous incarnations.. Just something about that look makes Breez Breez to me. The only thing that still bugs me is the brown on the bow, but it's not as big a problem now as it was before. Also, that combiner looks awesome! Hero or foe, it can work either way! Maybe it's an upgrade for her upgrade, like a power suit? Let the imagination go crazy with that one. I have to say, she's a fair bit better than what I was expecting. This makes me even more excited for the others, if and when reviews of them come, of course. That sums up my thought's rather nicely.
  13. Well that was certainly unexpected. I wonder why there hasn't been a Bat-train before, much less a Batmotive! It's sleek, and long, and it's got wings- all the stuff a Bat-vehicle normally has. I like the addition of the rockets on the back. Pretty cool :)
  14. I really like this station! Outside and in it's detailed great- I see they have their own little tree for the holidays. The platforms are cool, love the signals, and the flex-track used as bumpy track, which the workmen are clearly repairing. I like the signals on the platform ends as well. The station could benefit from more track at the other platforms though, unless the trains can fly in You know, just for a moment, when I saw the image of the man of the bowler hat and the man with the top hat standing together, I thought 'Oh my gosh, it's Sir Topham Hatt!' I know it isn't, but I've been so used to seeing that figure there, at another tan and green station, Knapford. I like the statue out front, too, with the police all around. I wonder who the important visitor is there? Overall I find it to be a great railway station. You've done well with it. :)
  15. Forget the solid orange- Bulk's hand should be translucent. Trans-hands probably won't appear in the near future, I think. The system makes sense, but I agree that some of the colors on some of the figures are just too out-of-place. Shame really. Thinking about it more, I wonder what the combiner sets will look like? Should be interesting this time around, considering the villains at play...
  16. From what I could find in terms of images on this guy, I think you've done pretty well. The style mimics him as seen in 'Ocarina of Time' , I'm assuming. The head looks very well 'sculpted', I like how you used the toothish-plate for the ear, very clever. Hair is pretty cool too, and I like the gold and blue on the head and chest. The rest of the body is pretty solid. Looking at the picture in front of me I see that the shoulders aren't as round as the image of the villain I'm looking at, but the shoulder armor is all one piece, so I'm happy. Boots are pretty cool, I like the use of the Knights Kingdom(I could be wrong) Armor there. The only thing I really have any issue with is the sword. Probably unavoidable to have it any thinner, I know, but at least it keeps its shape. Hands holding it look good, they do indeed look like they have fingers and hand-brace-thingies, though I could get why they do look fragile- then again, any thicker and the hands would look a little odd, wouldn't you say? Overall this guy looks pretty darn good. You should be proud of your work here :)
  17. I can see lots of great parts, but I agree with everyone else who's said it- there is far too much orange on Bulky here. Not a bad thing for MOCers, especially since there's so much trans reddish-orange(I was really hoping it would be the orangey orange like in the package pics) included in the mix, but for the character I don't think it works too well. AND he's got an orange hand. I swear, if Nex somehow gets silver hands, I will laugh my butt off. I wonder why his torso isn't silver too? Maybe it's a nod toward his Breakout form, maybe.. I dunno. Helmet still looks pretty cool. Can't wait to see exactly how the visor clips on. Oh, I can't wait to see that review, ZORK!
  18. OOH! This ought to be good. I wonder what the new head looks like...
  19. I swear, that image of Furno makes him look more like a villain than a Hero than the first set image did. The cape, the jagged blades on the sword and the HF shield, that helmet.. mostly the cape though. I really like what Technicy stuff is going on on Furno. I have hope that the translucent orange cladding on his sides isn't just hanging there on bone parts off his torso. Rocka's translucent blade looks awesome, and from the angle we see him standing, the set looks relatively awesome. Bulk's neck is a little too exposed for my liking, but that helmet still looks good. Also, that brain crawling in the shadows doesn't remind me of any spiders from any previous years at all
  20. It's not only the issue of the color scheme, which I've just realized a way it could indeed work on a beast-like combo, barely, but also that the build I was trying to go for was a bit too tricky for me at the time. I wanted to build a spine using the long torso beam like on Fire Lord, and the double ball, double hole parts Red Fist uses on his legs to make the spine, but it proved to be too troublesome in the end.
  21. Sadly it is too late. I did try a combiner of the two, and got halfway working out a beast-merge of the two, but gave up on it. If you like, I can post up the pics of what I had on the first combo. Won't be anything amazing though.
  22. You're probably right. Shame really. I was looking forward to more orangey awesomeness. But how is it the gold shield looks gold in color, but not the cladding on the limbs? That truly must be some weird lighting..
  23. That was quick! There are a few pretty cool parts here. I really like the orange used on Laval, more large orange cladding pieces make me happy. I can see a paw under the shield, but I can't figure out how the shield connects to the hand. The fur parts are pretty cool, but I don't get why it the cladding under isn't orange to match the rest of the 'flesh'. Having said that, I love the trans blue cladding, and I fully expect to see it return in Stringer or Stormer in the summer. Those blades too are also very cool. EDIT: I see Laval has extra leg joints. Maybe they're meant to be bent back to mimic real-life lion legs? Just a thought This Cragger guy looks pretty powerful. I know some people are going to have fun with the large quantity of dark green cladding(I know I would), and the lime parts are pretty great too. Lower legs need a little armor in my opinion. I think that the grey on the tail looks out of place, but the method of attaching it works. Normally you see crocodile tails go side-to-side, not up-and-down, so it works for me. Oh, and those blades are super awesome. I am definitely going to have fun MOC-Making with those :D The heads on both look great, both are well detailed, but it looks like as if they will be just solid pieces instead of helmets with glowy head parts underneath, which is a shame. I can see a fair bunch of MOCers making Crocodile-beast-related creations shortly after receiving Cragger. The Super-Hero-Torso-Add-On-Parts with the chi printed on to them look great, but would be very limited for other uses outside of Chima-related MOCS. Overall, the two sets make a good impression on me. I look forward to seeing the other 4, if and when they hit shelves. That Gorilla is one I look forward to seeing especially.
  24. Ah well. We can always modify the 9 euro sets. Almost forgot about the cape. Yeah that would do it. Yay I'm right about something No excuse for those two at all. I'd think Pyrox would at least have a black foot on his back, if not dark red to match the front of the torso.
  25. A 'Chima Constraction' topic sounds good. I wish they'd used a gorilla in 'Savage Planet'. Oh well. Bet it'll look good. Talking about Hero Factory for a moment, does anyone think that Breez, Rocka, and Bulk have back armor? It doesn't appear that way from any of the images. Shame. I imagine Furno will, because he's an XL set, and if that doesn't have back armor, that'll stink. I wonder if any of the villains have back armor.. I imagine Bruizer won't, judging by the new image, and the construction of his right arm, but I hope at least one of the others do.
