Please explain your reasoning. I would understand how he looks when rolled up- a bit blocky with the legs. I could have done that better, or not given him legs at all. I could understand about the head too- Perhaps a standard cup-ball-ball bone piece would work, to keep the head inside the rounded body. Please, do give me your thoughts on the matter. Every little bit counts.

I'm glad to hear it! I wonder how useful the helmets in the next wave will be.. the preliminary pictures make it look like they won't be very much so.. but that's for another thread ;)

I don't think I want to see another Western train theme.. but if a Great Western Railway locomotive, like a 57xx, were released in a minifig-scale set I'd be happy to see that! The city trains are nice- I would like to see a station a little more complex in design for the trains to pull in to, but I don't mind the designs of the trains as they are at the moment.

I know! Paint it gold and Bulk's got bling. The 2012 waves have been very helpful in my MOC making. Those squarish shells, used on the shoulder for Bulk and on the upper legs for Core Hunter have proven quite effective, and the purple parts in Voltix are excellent. Sorry, I mean medium lilac, not purple. I'm finding all sorts of uses for Stormer's Scout-drones too.. crotch armor, chest decor, ears.. their shape is interesting, and I love working with them. Here's hoping the next wave proves just as great with useful parts and playability! Is that a word? Ah well.

I haven't the slightest what it's worth, but it does look great. :)

The Penguin's Movie and Cartoon Minifigures. )
Cirkit replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I've only just now found this thread, and I'm amazed at the quality of the figures. Jafar is my favorite of the Disney characters you've made. The beard trailing onto the torso was quite clever. I'd think his head would be reversable, so you could have one side with that scowl, and one side with a big grin. Aladdin looks pretty cheeky. Where's his monkey run off to? Ursula and Ariel look great as well. I don't know many of the others, but you nailed the butler from "The Haunted Mansion", and the girl from the Resident Evil series looks great too. :) That "Alice In Wonderland" asylum thing is pretty freaky. I'd much rather see more Disney-themed characters come from you, it would be interesting to see how a character like Hades would turn out... EDIT: I'm pretty sure it doesn't count as a cartoon, being live action and all, despite so many people dubbing it a 'cartoon'.. but would you ever consider making a live-action kid's show character (from existing molds) like Barney the Dinosaur, or Sir Topham Hatt from Thomas the Tank Engine? The latter would be easier to pull off I think. -
Someone has mentioned that Red Fist might look better in 'gunmetal' instead of white. The idea of it is growing on me. I think I'll try to rebuild him as a 'gunmetal' and red guy and see how that works out. Pics will be on the way soonish.

While I try to capture the Red Fist creation in proper light(can't get it on a white background, and I think I really need to build a 'light box' for taking proper photos of MOCS), here's another of Dark Matter's forces to keep you busy. The story goes something like this: This guy was once part of a team of Heroes sent to stop DM's forces from stealing early prototypes of the 'plasma guns' the Heroes now use(along with other valuable HF tech) from a floating security center, and got separated from the rest of the team when he stumbled upon a warehouse with strange bot construction plans laid out across some workbenches. He's caught by other villains looking at the plans, and makes a run for it. Unfortunately, he gets blindsided by Dark Matter himself, who then beats down the Hero to near submission, and forces him to a ledge. However, as the Hero is about to drop, DM lets his guard down, and the Hero throws sand in his face, and knocks down the big baddie. Just as he's about to strike again, DM's blaster fires into the Hero, and DM uses that momentum from the weapon to smash the Hero into a wall, just before he rips out the Hero's core with his bare hands. The rest of the team gets out, with most of the tech secured, and no idea what happened to their teammate. DM calls upon his 'right hand man', a skilled warrior and former HF designer, and asks him to use the remains to create a new villain. The alloys can't be stretched, so the Red Fist creates a villain with a round body, capable of rolling up and becoming a high-speed wrecking ball. Aptly, they name him: Tumbler Front: Back: In a ball: Attack/Running: Tumbler does not know his origin, but he is willing to serve under his new master to bring down the Factory that created his old body. If he did somehow obtain the knowledge that he lived in the body of his enemy(in a sense), he would become more dangerous than even DM could possibly imagine. EDIT: While I have time, here's another baddie. He's simpler in appearance, simpler in build, but he's still a devious one. He acts as an apprentice to the Red Fist, learning what he knows, assisting in various jobs, recalibrating the plasma cannons and the transport ship coils.. and he's got a shocking vocabulary. This is Electros Front Back Please let me know what you think of these two in the comments below. All and any criticism and advice is welcome. -Cirkit

Remember a while back, be it on deviantArt(can I say that site name?) or here, that I posed up a picture of a black, muscled HF-build torso, and promised a figure would be completed around it? The muscled black HF torso, that looked similar to this? Well wait no more, it's finally here! The one, the only... Dark Matter!? That's right. Evidently he has returned, Upgraded to a new body(and in a sense, a new mind), and ready to lead his forces against the Factory once more. By the way, his upgrade has increased his height exponentially. He now stands at about 2 standard-size Heroes tall. 'Shine' and my panda-like Hero demonstrate here. He's got quite an arsenal, with his shoulder-mounted plasma-bolt cannon, the thrusters in his boots, and his bloodied-up broadsword(not shown), along with his loyal army of Villains. Among these villains is the Red Fist, who you will be seeing more of.. shortly. Comments and criticism are greatly welcomed. More to come soon! -Cirkit

Ah, Breez is my favorite set of the 2012 lot, just ahead of Stormer and Rocka. Looks great with those shoulder pads and those feet, in any pose you put 'em. Wish the new Breez had em. I still can't find her on my local Target or Walmart shelves, and last I checked the Toys R Us didn't have her either! Out of the Breakout sets on my wishlist, Breez ranks pretty high up. It's a shame we never got to see this Breez in action. It would have been epic.
-
I hope it wasn't a hoax- I want to see Breez, Matt Thornraxx, and Core Hunter in action! Orgum has tusks.. what is the point of that I wonder? Wonder what Stormer's role will be in the 'Brain Attack'? Will he be corrupted with a brain slug, or back in XL form again? Oh, and Bulk needs more Bulk, even if just another shoulder pad, and Breez needs less silver and more red accents.. Nuff said.
-
I like knightly Bulk, but the latest design works very well. I especially like the visor- the way it goes up the neck but leaves the mouth exposed is pretty cool. Why is his head green though? I thought it was normally orange?
-
That sounds like a logical conclusion. I could imagine bad villains becoming worse once infected with the hyper-intelligent slugs(I'm assuming their intelligent- It could go either way)...! Agreed. While it's the only one element of the character that's mentioned to be more powerful(pistons), because of the 1.0 look I've always preferred Bulk, well.. Bulky. I'm not a fan of skinny, pre-workout Bulk. Yes, yes(no arrow? That's a bummer), replace the titanium metallic with silver like on Bulk; and I agree to the last. Marvelous. Bruizer's an interesting looking chap. Rocky, spiky, and way asymmetrical, this guy had me at first sight. I agree to your right club-arm connection theory, it is plausible, and would make him more worth his cost(I assume $14-ish where I live, that's how much Voltix was).. not that all those delishous 'Metru-Grey' parts don't already. I still say his face looks reminiscent of Megatron's from the Michael Bay "Transformers" movies.. look in DoTM and you'll see what I'm getting at. Marvelous. We could use some more Dark Red, and that torso will come in handy for completing an OC of mine. His face is outragishly devilish and I lurve it :3
-
I think it's kind of cool. While the head colors don't really mix in much, it is an interesting look perched on a 'human' body. Tail's interesting- where did the white sword come from? I agree with the others that his legs look a bit long, but I imagine they would look good in another pose? Lots of interesting ideas, I like it.
-
As much as the heavily armored version is appealing, the coat one is kind of growing on me. The whole 'Heroes as Knights' thing is kind of cool, mixes the two ideas nicely. I love what you did with Bulk's helmet, and I have to agree the face did look odd. I think the second of the two, the one on the right, looks better. Gives him an old knightly feel while retaining the Bulkyness we know and tolerate love. :P

Okay, so when I saw the new Heroes and Villains, I almost exploded on account of how excited I was. Now that I've calmed down a little, here are my thoughts. Rocka's got a neat sword, and 4M gold(and I assume trans lime green on the shoulder) cladding. He is simple, but sleek, and I love the shield-blades. Bulk has got some nice trans-orange cladding, and a silver piece of Captain-America armor. I don't get what is up with the drill, the helmet looks a little odd from this angle, and the orange hand looks a little out of place. I would get him for the parts, but not until I see another view of that helmet. I have mixed views about Breez. I like silver as much as the next guy, but she utilizes way too much of it. The helmet looks interesting, I like the green-lime 'finger' pieces on the torso, and her bow(I assume), but the lack of red in her is a bit off-putting. I'm noticing a trend with the most recent XLs. Swords seem to be the norm. All I need to say about Furno XL is that he looks awesome. He's got that sword, the shield with the clever 'H' formed by the two parts, four of those new trans orange parts, and that helmet. Fry my curcuits that is one bad-A helmet. I wonder if that cape is cloth or rubbery.. Only one way to find out :D The Villains have proven to be an interesting bunch as well. All seem to be latched with some sort of slug, or perhaps the 'brains' as described on the package. They all come in different colors, and all seem to attach to the back of the villain head somehow.. Rocka's opponent, a four-armed guy named Scarox, has a pretty creepy head. Lots of eyes, green 'fangs', and the guy is covered in gold blades and cladding. The fact that it's another yellow-ish guy with four arms is disappointing. Couldn't they have done something bigger, or given him a tail? Somebody call in the Power Miners Rock Monsters? No? Oh, well this guy looks it. Bulk's opponent's name is Bruiser, another heavy-hitter, paired well. The 'rock monster' look is nailed by this guy. He's got rocky armor pieces, a huge spiked rock club for an arm, and a dazzling rock smile which in no way reminds me of Megatron's face in the Transformers movies. I love the uneven look of this guy, especially the 'paw' part on the torso(wonder how they did that?), and the dagger is a nice touch. Certainly the best looking villain of the wave. Breez has got this guy named Orgum. Gee, wonder what he's supposed to be. I wasn't expecting brown to make a comeback, and it's nice seeing it in the big fists(Hulk Style), feet, and flail. Earth Green cladding too? My goodness. The tentacle-vine fingers are interesting, but that face.. ugh. If he's meant to be fleshy, fine, but I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Lastly, Furno's got a big job to take on in capturing the Demon Lord of the Gnomes, a baddie called Pyrox. He's got some biiig horns, black is a nice color for those. New orange claws, black Ben-10 hooves, and Earth Red parts.. my. His face freaks me out, but he interests me a little. Isn't it odd that none of the characters have Zamor Thornaxx Meteor plasma blasters? I wonder what's up with that? I was expecting one of them to have a shoulder-mounted blaster or something this wave. The 'brain' on the bags looks like the Visorak of yesteryear. I don't know anything about the story, but it looks to be an interesting one. I just hope Breez has a big role to make up for the mysterious lack of one in "Breakout". And those are my thoughts for now. :) By the way, sorry for such a long read. I had intended it to be shorter but.. I talk a lot :/

Thor for Marvel, Wonder Woman for DC... with the waves we got before that would mean there would have to be two more characters from both Comic Universes. I wonder... Don't give up hope just yet. It's risky to put up preliminary images(I'd rather they didn't, just put out some names and very vague descriptions and I'll let my imagination roll with it), but better late than never right?

That locomotive is a thing of beauty. In brick form it isn't any bit less. I saw it on TV when I was younger, and I was attached ever since. Maybe it was the twin front lamps that moved, maybe it was that whistle, or perhaps the bright orange stripe running down the locomotive.. you know what, that was probably it. I really REALLY loved the orange. You've captured The Daylight in brick form almost perfectly. It's just how I remember it, just needing the steam- can't have a steam engine pounding along the rails without it, right?
-
Well that's a twist! While part of me thinks again(?) with Core Hunter's back story, he was a Hero turned rogue, out to get Hero Factory and blah blah blah, I like the sound of the whole thing especially the part with I think I may just have to pick up this book whenever it hits stores.. sounds like a good read. :D By the way, has it been confirmed whether or not the things featured in this book will be in an episode? Or XT4/Nex or Breez/Thornraxx for that matter.

Nice! I think this looks as BP might have been before 'The Upgrade'. Blockier and more 'robotic' torso(got the 'pex' armor in there? Excellent), less smooth and more.. jagged.. and I really like the bright lime spikes on the spine. I agree with Draik- need to put those Quaza horns in, or some sort of horn, to really complete the BP look, but really it's a great LDD MOC. :)

Those last lines were the best to hear. Core Hunter's taken seriously, and is given a thorough punishment in the end. Even if that punishment results in .
-
I don't like the whole thing going on there, but the rest of the plot seems interesting enough. I actually expected something more focused on Core Hunter's hobby- extracting cores and disabling Heroes. Something more focused on Core Hunter and Bulk. I know it's unlikely that LEGO would ever consider something so violent, but I would have liked to see Core Hunter disable Heroes sent to aid Bulk in his mission, then Bulk beat Core Hunter down and rip out his core! OR just shoot a hole through the Hunter. Either way, that would be bad-A. Am I right?
