  1. I agree with ZORK64 about the color of the underpants. As for the toes, I'm not as surprised. During the 2.0 upgrade in the show, the Heroes are shown to have toe-like digits before the 'boot' piece is attached, so again, not surprised. I am surprised however at the fact that you made Evo's 'skin' purple.. It works so well once the wet-suit and armor have been added. If there was a piece of 'crotch armor' on the front I think it would look even better, for now that area with just the black and the zipper looks too plain to me. But it's an interesting concept, great job.
  2. I was thinking randomly about the concept art today, and Vinyl Scratch's post gave me an idea. The head does indeed look a bit odd, uncovered by anything, unlike previous waves of Hero Factory. I was thinking maybe to make the faces look less, well, odd, by developing headgear(similar to the 2.0 wave, like the headset gear on Stormer 2.0, or the goggles on Furno) that could fit into the lightsaber-size hole where the gold horns are on your cowboy? It would make them a bit more 'high tech', but at the same time I worry the suggestion of headgear might lessen the cowboy appeal? Please tell me your thoughts on the idea.
  3. That logo...! And the art too, wow! Didn't see it when I commented the other time, probably because they weren't up yet. But they do look great. Cracked earth, red sky.. that bot standing on the cliff looks interesting, don't suppose that will be one of the characters you make? Or perhaps he'll just be something to wonder about in the art. I really like the way the sky looks in the first picture too, especially with those stars, so bright and large on the horizon. That little mention of the "Quaza Rush" was neat.. like the gold rush but not. The other piece of concept art is great as well. There's one rock with a curved top that looks odd standing between the two rectangular rocks on the left that is a little distracting to me, but I can get over it. I love the big green planet hanging there in the golden brown/coffee-coloured sky, those two smaller planets(or are they moons?) circling it, and the sun on the horizon. Almost missed that. There's a ripply-effect coming from it, intentional I hope, which I absolutely love too, gives the sky a desert-hot feel to me. I can't tell if the ground, or at least the hills the two figures are standing near are covered in grass or not, the grainy effect on the picture makes it a little difficult to tell, but I like the look of the ground. It brings a little tension too, with the two just standing there.. I wonder who will make the first move. The concept art and that logo are wonderful, and I do look forward to seeing more from you soon :)
  4. I saw this on Brickshelf just a minute ago and started freaking out. Once I read the description, I chilled a little. But it looks so real in the box art! The glow of the eyes, the slightly gritty look of the textures, those guns, THAT HAT, right down to the ages and part-count. Just superb. Then there's those new parts. I like that the gun has loadable ammo, or maybe that's the part the bullets go in? The Pin-mount on the gun looks like it gives the ammo a spinny function when put on, and I rather like that, makes the gun feel a little more 'real western', if you get my meaning. The little noisemaker things for the boots are great too(can't for the life of me think of what they're called, Google isn't helping either), though I can't really see them in any of the cowboy-hero's poses. I like that head-connector piece best of all, it's what I wanted with the 2.0 figures- something useful and not so limiting as the headgear then. AND THAT HAT! One thing about the hat though- the little circle on the front looks like it could be used as a pin-connector, like for the horns on the head and upper-arm cladding. Doing that could also bring the possibility of a Villain-type character wearing it with a skull-decoration or something on it. But other than that, I love that hat. I could definitely see this as an Official Lego Set. If you do Cuusoo this, you have my full support.
  5. You've read my mind. It would be so awesome if this were to happen! Bones, Torsos, cladding and 'extras', 2.0 and Glatorian heads, cores old and new, feet, helmets, and hands.. must have lots of hands. Weapons and launchers would be great as well. I wonder how they would be packaged within the tub.. would they be sorted, then put into separate baggies, or would the parts simply be poured into the bucket?
  6. Perfectly understandable to start a new thread.. I don't think it's really been that long, but I digress. The Heroes in your style 'pop' a little more to the eye, they look brighter and shinier, but I can still identify them all as a single team. I like how massive Bulk looks, I miss that about him. Stringer keeping the orange, and Stormer with his eyepiece were pretty nice too. And Evo's got purple back.. excellent. I got a second Evo for my birthday today, rather nice with that tank-arm I think. And then, there's Reapa. My god.. That's bloody wicked! Fleshy, squishy, slimy looking body, with black tough armor, and a real gun... ! Looks brilliant, love the light-shine look- This is the villain I imagined Reapa to be. Just love it. I can't wait to see more from you!
  7. I don't know, throw in a few black or silver Exo-force robot arm pieces and you've got a pretty useful assortment of accessories. I know the infected quaza-spike isn't used that often, so perhaps recolour those silver or replace it with the rubbery black hair-decoration piece from Raw-Jaw. Either way it would seem to be a useful little pack. Then again, I wouldn't mind a few extra bones on hand either.
  8. I imagine the shorter torso contributes to the 'bustier' look. If the torso was a stud, maybe two studs higher, or a little narrower, then it would look more like the Capricorn we know. Having said that, I'm rather impressed with the whole thing, really does look like the TV News Reporter, from the hair (love what you did with it at the back) to the face, the straps and the legs. I like that you improvised with the feet, think you made a good choice. I am impressed with it all, you've done well to capture the character seen on TV. Now try for Makuhero himself..!
  9. While I agree with the fact that Amperox did not look as robotic, I think the older look suited the character better. Be it the spikes sticking up all directions, the paws as shoulder armor, the clawed hand or the older legs.. I dunno I just prefer it. However, the new incarnation isn't that bad. I rather like the split electricity shock colors and the launcher on his back, makes him stand out a bit more I think.
  10. Thanks Masta' Blasta'! It took some work, and in the end I think it still didn't look quite right, but I'm glad you like it! Would you like me to post up some pics on how to connect them like that?
  11. That would be a rather interesting twist, wouldn't it? Normal-sized villain with a massive role- possibly behind the whole Breakout plan himself! I keep wondering how this next episode will play out, if there even is one at all.. I mean, nearly all the villains from both the winter and summer waves have been captured, all we've got left is Breez/Thornraxx, Bulk/Core Hunter, and Nex/XT4. Unless there's going to be an army of XT4 drones or Thornraxx bugs(which would be AWESOME), I don't see how the episode could have a proper, action-packed story that fits into at least an hour of running time. This episode of Breakout was good mostly, I hope there's a second to wrap up the Breakout story.. I really just want to see Breez and XT4 in action.
  12. I really like the Narwhal! Limited number of pieces makes for an interesting challenge, and with the Narwhal I see you've pulled it off nicely. I like that the red, blue, and lime are all used, but none are overwhelming, and the gunmetal and silver pieces help this a lot. I wouldn't have ever thought to use a hand and a tool for a head, normally I'd think it look awkward, but here it looks rather nice. The tail bugs me a little because it is short, but again you're working with limited pieces; I think I can live with a short-tailed Narwhal. Have you got a name for it? Perhaps.. Wally? Beta looks to be an interesting guy too. I like the feet as shoulder armor and as backpacks/thrusters/whatever.. makes him look bulky and well armored.I'm not a huge fan of the triple jointed legs or the backwards 'butt' armor but again, I can live with it. Overall I rather like these two, and I hope to see more from you in future. Cirkit
  13. Really that good a backstory? Well, thanks xxlrocka! I imagine it would be kind of hard to see him at night, don't know why I didn't think that when typing.. hmm, oh well. It took a lot of tries to get the head to glow right, I'm glad you like it. And I'm rather pleased with the armor as well, optimus99. It took a little while to get the feet right, but I'm pleased with them. Dark Matter's my favorite as well, and I'd like to improve upon him more once the other Breakout sets get released, need parts from Core Hunter and Bulk to complete the look. I built Dark Matter well over a month ago(about 2 days before the photo was taken), and modified him a little bit here and there up until now. He's still together, I just want to wait until the aforementioned Breakout sets are released before I dismantle him. Thanks so much for the comments, guys! Really means a lot. And as I said before, I've got more on the way! Might try and doodle DM down and put it up for all to see..!
  14. I'm assuming it's corrupted Quaza, like Witch Doctor used to control the Savage Planet Animals. If not that, then I wouldn't know. I'd have liked the episode more if they'd gone into further detail about that(and various other things).
  15. Odd.. my previous post didn't go through. Huh. Alright, here's Sonja Shine: She's an energetic, peppery Rookie, assigned to the team Striker leads. She likes to move fast, not always planning her attack(or in some cases, her choice of words) before doing it, and sometimes muddling it up. She also believes that the new Hero Cuffs take all the fun out of the chase and capture of the Villains, and prefers to work without them, much to the displeasure of the HF Mission Managers and her other peers. Still, she means well, and will assist however she can, even if she has to stand still(and she hates that more than anything) to do it. Sonja's skilled with knife-throwing and blade-handling, with a particular fondness for wave-swords. Her current MTIS tool is based loosely on the latter, being lightweight and strong, and features a stun-blaster on the shield, if the blades don't do the job. She is also equipped with scope-headgear, allowing her to see and more accurately neutralize her target from far away. If the colors on the picture don't look right, Sonja is Orange in color, with a yellow-orange Core/Head/Blade, black, and silver undertones. And here's another shot. Apologies if the images are blurry, etc. Did the best with what I had. And Now, for something different. Some say, in the dark of Makuhero city, amiss the dangling wires and abandoned buildings, some of the worst Villains on HF record run amok, trashing buildings and welding stolen parts together to make weapons and machinery.. and always watching, waiting for the right moment to strike. Some have called those bots 'crazy', insisting Makuhero city is the safest place to be, and that there are no such Villain hideouts. They say the likeliness of that is about as much as there being crocodiles in the sewage lines. Sorry to disappoint, but.. There's more in the dark than we should ever dare know. Like this guy, for instance. The Recon Team says this villain caused trouble a long time ago, before the Hero Factory was founded. He's been called a 'Villain for Hire', and one of the best(or worst, depending where your viewpoint is). He's never said to have had a proper name, so the Recon Team have decided to code name this villain "Dark Matter", based more on his appearance than crimes. Clad in dark, thick armor, it's been hard for surveillance cameras to capture him, although there have been rare times when he has been caught on camera. Here is one of them: As you can see, he's a big guy. While in this photo he's equipped with a large sword, he's been known to handle most guns and blades easily, preferring the latter most of the time. As Recon (and ourselves of course) can tell, there are little-to-no openings or gaps in his armor, front or back: This a heavy one, and so when he needs to make a quick getaway(his size makes it difficult to commandeer most small craft), he activates mega-thrusters under his massive boots, which send him up to the sky at a ridiculously fast speed. If you couldn't quite see them in the first image, here's a close up: If he somehow doesn't get away, don't try to fight him on your own. This guy's had years of practice, and was known to have put a whole squad of Heroes in the Med Bay, and destroy a Hero Bike.. with just one blow from his broadsword. Call for immediate backup if faced with this villain. Recent information shows unusual activity outside a restricted Hero Factory owned warehouse facility on the outskirts of Cirkai City, on the planet Ravubos. Unusual because the warehouses haven't been used in years, and the only other major building nearby is a powerplant for the city. Surveillance cameras have caught Dark Matter snooping around the facilities, intent unknown. This was the last image captured by this camera before we lost the feed. Recon has already sent Team Leader Striker and his team to investigate. More updates as the misson progresses. Oh, and one more image, to show off the darker side. (More MOCs coming VERY soon!)
  16. Looks neat. A little plain, but neat. I like the method you used to place the claw by the hand, smart thinking. His 'wings' are rather nice to look at too.
  17. I'm excited to finally see this.. with the US Dub. Too bad I won't be at a computer when it will be uploaded. :/ Easter. Relatives. Dinner. Omn nom nom. Hope you all have a Happy Easter. :)
  18. Thanks mate. I think I got some details of the gun off, but better luck next time. I will have a few more images up, MoCs this time, so stay tuned. Edit: If I provided a larger version of the image, would anyone be interested in coloring my guy in? I'm not that very good with photo editing I'm afraid, not even MS paint. :/
  19. Woah! That's a lot of good looking MoCs. Let's see.. I rather do like your interpretation of Breez. While I did like the white on the set, here she looks so much more.. whole. Solid color scheme, well armored without being too much, and I like the shield placement very much. The lack of the jet thrusters on the ankles is a little disappointing, seeing as those were one of my favorite details of the original set, but overall not a bad job. Nex too seems to be standing a little bit taller, Although I'm not sure how I feel about those feet. Maybe if he had a jet pack or tubes for underwater use I'd feel better about it. And then, there's Ivan. Wow. Pretty stable-looking guy, love the use of Tarix's blades and those 'paw' parts for shin armor.. methinks this guy's an old-fashioned sort of fighter, and if he isn't, then he's got skill anyway. Love that you used the Tahu mask too.. brings good memories back. Nice job with him. GB's a scrawny sort. It appears like you've used all the trans parts from TR, nice. I'm not sure about the build of the torso, but the fire coming from the eyes and the mask itself win. Does this guy have a backstory? Junk King looks exactly as the name sounds, which is rather welcome. However, the Firelord build is getting old. I am pleased about the knee armor, Metru torso plates make great armor methinks, and the shoulders.. how did you do the shoulers? Nothing clunky there like Fire Lord.. looks like they have a large range of flexibility, something I like with arms. H3V3N-1 and GO1D-6 look an interesting pair. Inspired by XT4, I take it? Not much I can say about 1. The wings look nice, as does the Rahkshi leg(makes it look more like a regular ol' bot than a Hero, I think), and the head. GO16 is a bit different. IT's exciting, with pincer-claws and those big, gold hand things which I assume fire lazers or something.. pretty sweet looking bot there. The combos.. MegaGreen looks sort of like a Makuta MoC I did with the HF pieces. Small, greenish, but still deadly. Those blades stick out like a sore thumb, but I imagine that you were trying to stick to just the two sets, so It's fine. The use of the Tahu mask as a crotchplate is very.. different. But it's good. Combo 2 is what it says it is.. a dragon. It looks the part without being overly complicated. I like What you've done with the upside-down white torso and the Paws on the knees.. that looks nice. Arnold Stronghold has to be my personal favorite of the combos though. He looks strong and solidly-built, and the green and orange don't clash as much as I thought they would. Those blades on the back I enjoy as well. Great bunch of MoCs you've got here.. looks like a lot of effort put into them. You have done very well building them. Thanks for sharing them with us. :)
  20. I think the change of shoulders looks great. Personally, I think if I were to improve the Iron Man set somehow, it would be to move those gold engine decoration pieces from the shoulders to the legs, but that's just me. Without the gun, though, he does look a little.. odd. I wish there was a way to remedy that, I can't figure out how though. War Machine would be a welcome Ultrabuild Superhero addition, I think.
  21. Hey guys, it's me again, here with some things and stuff I'd like to share. Everybody's made their own HF heroes, be it in the old designer on the HF site, or in the Recon Designer, or in the new Breakout customizer.. I've seen MoCs and drawings and even read a decent fanfic or two. So, I'd decided that I'd post up some Heroes of my own for all to see, be it in the form of plastic or pen on paper, and perhaps some of the villains and other things I've built with the HF system. So.. yeah, awesome. Here's my first, a Hero I codenamed 'Striker': He's meant to be the team-leader of this little group I have. The last of the 1.0 heroes built before receiving the Upgrade, he prefers to work with older ways, believing them to be more effective than the 'new fangled nonsense' the Factory's been churning out lately, be it tactics or tools. He's not against upgrades or anything, Striker's always happy with something to improve his lazer-targeting stun-shock rifle, like a camera or a new barrel, but he does want to remember the old ways, and use those to prevent the same things happening again (you know the saying.). Striker's skilled in stealth, and is very agile. Striker may seem like a hard-butt to some of the younger Heroes, but they know he's just trying to do what's best for the team. His recent loss of a teammate makes him even moreso determined to do what's right- catch and cuff the villains who did it. Striker reuses Stringer's 1.0 helmet design, but recolored bright green(not lime). He carries around his lazer-precision-targeting rifle and Hero Cuffs of the most recent design. His armor is bright green and gunmetal, with yellow-orange highlights, and a purple Hero core/head. He prefers 'classic' music, although he's not above a little techno every now and again. A little, very tiny amount. Really. Will post more soon, watch this space! EDIT: sorry if the image is too small, I'll be posting up a larger version later.
  22. Great Lhikan, you're right! But as his bio doesn't really mention anything about being bigger than the other Heroes, I'd assume he's a big build with an average in-story size, if you get my meaning. Still, it's something that I was surprised that was overlooked.
  23. Well thanks! Glad to see my goal was met. I partially agree about the eye, to me it make Melty look more 'evil', but I wanted to try the green for a more sickly, slimy feel. Starting to regret it about now, now that the whole thing's dismantled. LoL. That's funny. I've been trying to think of a replacement part I could have used, but the only thought that comes to mind is using a piece of yellow or black armor, a ball, and a blue o--+ piece in a hole on the back. But, oh well. Also kind of looks like he's got a boil on his butt with that eye, but, moving on.. Thanks very much for the comment, it really means a lot to me. :)
  24. Optimus99, by replying and saying that you've double posted, you've double posted again. Kind of funny if you think about it. Merge the post with the older one or something. And S N O T, thanks for the comment. I'm not sure why I kept the eye on the foot, guess I just forgot about it. But it is kind of funny now that you've brought it up. I'm not sure how I'll do Corroder just yet, I'm still tinkering around with ideas... next up, I'll be posting some of my Heroes. Till then, catch you later!
  25. 'Wintastic'. Nice. Stringer's size is a little disappointing, but look at Evo, or Surge. Size didn't stop them being great Heroes. I imagine if the issue was addressed in the story line, they (or Stringer) would say that he's already cool enough at the size he's at, kind of like in Savage Planet with the animal upgrades.
