Oh my gosh, they killed Mater! Don't really care about that Lightning guy, but poor Larry! :P Being serious, I love the rod. The red parts sticking out the engine look like lipstick. Are those lipstick pieces? If so, awesome. The whole car fits the Friends girl theme while still looking fierce, fast, and fabulous, and I must say Stephanie looks at home in her new (or old) ride. Can't say I know that rat's name. Is it Phil? :P

Thanks! While the Hunchback look was intended, I agree that it could look a little odd for Meltdown. I had lots of fun moving the tubes around, glad you like em'. Thanks for the great score! Melty was my favorite too, after Xplode anyway :P That darn tentacle was lying right next to my Bionicle collection box.. right in plain sight. How did I miss that earlier Dx Thanks again for the kind comments, I do enjoy the feedback. :)

That pretty much sums it up there, mate. :) Don't you just love how much Stringer's tool looks like a guitar? Even in this ad it looks awesome. Voltix keeps growing on me. He looks better in this pose here, but that tentacle still bugs me. Is it meant to be a whip? And Bulk looks great too. Those guns.. ahh.. Does anyone notice that Bulk and CH's heads look a darker shade of red than usual? I wonder.. I am even more excited now for these guys..

Thanks for the kind comment. This Meltdown uses a fair less number of parts than the other, so it's less jumbled and slightly more appealing. At least to me, anyway. What do you like about it?

Hey all. I'm back with a creation I made last night while I was trying not to fall asleep. I finally dismantled my Meltdown MOC (who's thread I can't seem to find), and decided to do something different with the parts. It was different, but very much the same. I'll just cut to the chase here. Here's some pics. Not as blurry as before, thank goodness. Front: Back: Top(with view of how back connects): Random side: Pose: Attacking the Camera: Tell me what you guys think, okay? After this, I think I might attempt Corroder :D And if not, then I'll just post up that big, hulking figure I made not to long ago. The only problem will be taking photos.. as the guy is completely black, and black is hard to take pictures of.. so.. might be a little while. By the way, apologies for the size of the pics. I did try and run them through a free photo resizer, but alas, they are still gargantuan. I'll be working on that. :/ Cirkit out!

Is that.. No way.. THERE IS A WHEEL. AND IT'S A WINDOW. SO. FRICKIN. AWESOME!! :D Seriously though. I love the look of the main building, and the tower to the left. The wood look and feel to the rooms in the tower are excellent, and I love that little cage hanging from one of them. Skeleton's a nice touch. The roundness of that tower is really great too, looks smooth and almost real to me. So many details to the main building too, too many to catch right away, but I must say I like the chains, and the orange translucent parts with that glow in the WHEEL WINDOW, pretty awesome I must say. Building's incredibly detailed, mind is once again blown (shame too, I'm running out of duct tape) by the awesomeness of it all. You've done a really great job with building this, and the story behind it is just as enjoyable. I want to see more! :D

I didn't notice.. wonder how that happened? I've actually tried using existing parts from the HF building range to make a mock-up Thor, based on the one seen in the recent 'The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes' cartoon series. It almost worked, used a separate torso and most of the pieces found in Raw-Jaw for the cape, Waspix's printed cladding for the shins, among other parts. Even tried making a head for it, which I found really difficult to do properly with my Lego Bricks. Ended up just scrapping it. I was surprised that Thor wasn't included in this year's movie. Hope that if the Superheroes Ultrabuild line continues, Thor is included. And Ghost Rider. Got to love Ghost Rider.
-
Wasn't really all that awake when typing about Hulk, I'd forgotten about the lower leg pieces. Thanks for explaining the legs, makes a bit more sense now. Agreed on how much better they look compared to the HF character's legs. Wonder if Lego will do something like this for their future HF sets? And as for Ghost Rider.. agreed. I imagine he'd cost a little bit more, but if the bike had the right look, and his torso cladding looked more like a jacket than Joker's did, I wouldn't hesitate to grab him off the shelf and run. Seriously, If the Ghost Rider came out, it would be sold out before it ever hit the shelf.

The new Superheroes look great! Save maybe The Hulk, but I'll get to him in a minute. I thought the Captain would look odd with the armor, but it looks like it suits him well. It's not overly-bulky, but it's not thin and floaty either. The kneecaps and the shield look great, and I'm glad that the wings were included on the side of his head- I almost thought they forgot to include them when I was looking at the promo pics! Great looking guy, one I really would like to pick up. Iron Man is next, and I really think the HF system suits him(or at least Stark's armor). I don't if it was intentional or not, but the friction-cups on the legs make the legs look more proportionate to the rest of the body, and I quite like the look. The red and gold armor looks great, I'm thrilled about the torsos for shoulder armor- Not only do they provide us with two additional new, red Hero Torsos, they cover the shoulders and give that rounded feel to the armor, like in the movies, and I really like how that is. Printing for the face and torso armor is great, as is the ammo chain.. For the life of me, I can't figure out how the trans icy-blue part that looks like it's shooting energy bolts attatches. I see the red plus axle, and then..? I am confused. Overall the set is brilliant, and is my favorite of the series. And finally, I move on to the Incredibly Horrific Hulk. Seriously. From the front I think he looks alright. The new upper-torso armor works alright, the head looks comically-angry, like the Hulk, and he's got proper big fists to match the character. He's got blue cladding for pants, stubby green legs, and green feet, all which match the Hulk we know and tolerate. Again, not bad, our badly-tempered Hero looks okay, but then I see the metallic 'armor' used for the torso, and I have to wonder.. why? Surely the designers could have used a Breez torso without print, that would have worked better, or even just a piece of green, non-torso cladding. Here, that metallic piece looks odd, much more so than the shoulders, which I could get if they were armor (or doors ripped off cars and slapped to his shoulders), but not the torso. I mean, really. The upper arms are a bit of an issue too, again you can use an unprinted lime-green new Hero torso for the arms, you did it with Iron Man after all, why not Hulk? Again, if I try really hard, I could imagine some form of armor there, or maybe it's just that our big green buddy's been burnt or something. From the front, it's not too bad. Then, we proceed to the back. I had a literal facepalm moment. Not kidding. Ate a bagel, raged a little bit, then sat down and stared AT THE BACK. It's not like there's anything wrong with having a gaping hole in the 'armor' there.. Typing on a computer, it's hard to be sarcastic. I bet kids might have complained while 'testing' the toys that the Hulk with no back makes him look (vulnerable and) weak, and I would agree with them. It just looks so empty back there. One piece of gunmetal Hero Torso cladding would have cured that up, or a Savage Planet paw piece, like used on the back of Iron Man. There is no excuse for that decision to have the back left open like that. Take away some of those bone pieces just hanging there on the back, and slap a piece of torso armor on the back. It's just that simple. I'd be fine with set as it is, with the gunmetal armor and the comical face and the lack of fingers if there was just some REAL BACK ARMOR. Honestly. I'd buy the set for parts, but if I had to choose only two sets out of the three, I'd leave Hulk out. He's got lots of bone pieces, and recolors, but in the end it's just not worth it. Overall, I think TLG made a good effort. A few simple improvements on one of the figures would make the set great, maybe even lessen the price, but for now it's.. okay. I do hope this isn't the end of the Superheroes series, and I look forward to seeing what Lego's got planned as time moves on. Cirkit

Again, I would like it if people wouldn't quote the whole dang post on the same page, but thank you for the kind words. I think I will make my mini-Xplode a vehicle, but for now that's enough of Xplode. Time to move on to bigger and hopefully better things. Cirkit
-
Now time for the most epic update in this topic everr... Front: Back: Front again: I was going to do a vehicle for my Xplode, much the way LegoJang of Youtube made a series of mini vehicles for his MOCs, and I did get partway through making one, but this little guy just had to blow it up. :/ I'm about done messing around with Xplode for now. But, stay tuned, as I have more MOCs coming on the way! Cirkit.

I like the look of this. Maybe the "Meet the Heroes" book will be a guide, like the few Bionicle had in the past (like the Dark Hunters book, or the Guide to the Matoran Universe)? I'd like that. Also, I agree- Brady Bunch, much? :P
-
That's.. wow. Proportions look right, I'm impressed with the size of the figure. I like that you've incorporated System, old Bionicle parts, and the new HF system parts all into one figure. That hair is something to look at, wow. I also like the outfit, open back corset-looking top, with that skirt. I love the way you did the bow, and the skirt (it's removeable? Wow), and I just love those boots (or heels, whichever). Those Piraka legs really do come in handy. I am very impressed. It's colorful, consistent, and somewhat sexy. And I like that alot.
-
This is the single weirdest and most epic HF system-build thing I have ever seen. And I love it. And now I'm off to try the same thing with a lime.
-
I remember a more recent thing I did- it had a Exo-Force robot-suit arm that came with this set a while back, with the yellow spikes included with Nitroblast as teeth, triple jointed red, gunmetal, and green (I don't know why I did it either) legs AND arms, and had a mess of parts stacked on a 1.0 Hero Torso. I think one or two of the parts were pulled straight from a Toa Metru. IT was freaky!

Could someone kindly direct me to the clips with Speeda Demon and the Von Nebula coming out of Voltix thing? I'd really like to see the latter, sounds interesting.

Thanks for the kind feedback. However, please don't quote the whole post if it's on the same page. That's all I'm asking. nrgzane1, I agree that my Xplode still needs some tweaking. I was reluctant to remove the foot before, but I feel that would probably be the better option. Seeing the figure right in front of me I feel that the trans orange needs to stay, but I'll need to source another set (most likely Jawblade) for a second 5-long shell. I'm not quite sure about the orange torso on the front, but it's worth a try if I can find that gunmetal piece used for Bulk's wristblades (3.0 set), and use that again for the torso.. Hmm. Poison Ivy, no, I wasn't shooting for a Von Nebula revamp, but you have sparked an idea in my mind, one that I'll experiment with later. I do agree that I should look into purchasing more sets for shells( I was interested in picking up Furno 3.0, and he's still available at my local Target store.. why I didn't get him last time I haven't the slightest), and red seems to be the best color right now. After all, there is plentiful amounts of it available. Thanks for the color-scheme advice. Please do keep in mind that I am working with a very limited amount of pieces.. but any advice is good advice for me. I will experiment with the color schemes, and see how it goes. :) And MakutaDreadscythe, thanks. I think that would be an interesting concept, although I'm not sure how other fans would feel about villain characters being reused (there's already been a fair amount of discussion about Von Nebula's appearance in the Breakout episode, some good, some not so good).. but it is nice to think about. Thanks all for your feedback, I will take what you've said into account as I continue my building. I wish you all luck as well with your own building experiences, and a good evening. :) Cirkit

Hey! Sorry it's been so long, but I've finally gotten around to updating Xplode. Not much done, just removed the foot from his back, made his arms longer to better match the original, and mounted the head in the same way as his original set version. I also added some trans red/orange parts, as per request. Front w/ trans parts: Back w/ trans parts: Another front shot: What do you think? I've also got something else in the works, just after purchasing Black Phantom.. Man, I love me those shoulder pads.. For now, I'm off to build stuff. Later. Cirkit

My thoughts on the new pics: Stormer XL: He looks better than before. I was hoping those shoulder shells would be trans-blue.. but they still look good. Color scheme's consistant, and I love the decaled armor. Nothing too wild, and he's got some going on his leg too, nice! And, I really like those feet. Definitely a set to pick up. Stringer: I have grown fond of the black-and-blue combo, unfortunately they are the same colors most villains end up after going toe-to-toe with him. The trans-blue cladding is excellent, I can already think of a few good uses for it, and the new 'speaker' shoulder armor. I am interested in seeing how the guitar-gun is constructed. Another buy for me. Bulk: He's got guns on his arm, and missiles on his shoulders.. the ultimate equipped walking tank. The colors put me off a little, but at least enough silver is kept to make him familiar to his older form. The Gear-printing on his torso armor is awesome, very fitting to the character. If I pick up the set, I will be going back and adding more silver somehow. Nex: Both of my arms are GUNS!! Yeah, that about sums him up. I still think the torso should be orange with white print instead of what he's got now. The helmet looks too closed, the spot between the bottom of the eyes and the top of the mouth guard should be open, it would look a little better to me. I probably will wait to pick him up when he goes on sale. Speeda Demon: I think he looks exciting.. on the box. The massive amount of lilac on the bike is excellent, and it looks great with that gold. It also appears our rider can actually steer the bike, as opposed to Furno..!! Demon himself looks good, a little bland though. The gold and green with red eyes looks an interesting combo, and I'm loving those swords. I need a proper view of his torso, because I think he has a new shoulder pad piece for chest armor, but I can't be sure. I am actually getting used to Demon's full name (I tried it out in a 'villain' voice while riding my own bike.. it was fun! ), and I think he'll be one to pick up. Voltix: MOAR PURPLE LILAC!! He's got some interesting things color-wise going on. The blue and red tubes, the electricity going up from blue to yellow on his head and back, the dark grey and red armor on the legs, and that Lilac.. I wouldn't have thought that it would all work together so well without being overpowering, but it does! I really, really hope he's got a true yellow head instead of yellow-green though, it would add to the electric feel more so. Definitely my favorite villain of this wave, and one of my favorite sets of the Breakout. Will definitely pick him up. Core Hunter: Fierce. Still can't tell what's going on with the head, though it looks sort of like Bane's mask from Batman.. just a little. Colors are excellent, very consistent, though I wish he didn't use a green Zamor.. perhaps maybe a yellow one would work better.. or red marbled. Lots of recolored cladding too.. :D Another definite pick up. XT4 (XT4): New Torso, or old pieces on a beam? I tried to replicate it with two Waspix ball parts and a random beam.. but it didn't turn out right. Not much going on here, but there's loads of bones and a big blade for a cheap price. So.. yeah, awesome. I'm not going over Breez or Thornraxx, because, well.. we've already seen them. Besides, the others wouldn't stand a chance against those two. Hands down, they're the best two of the wave. Cirki-GUNS!!

I have Three: I thought the green on my Meltdown MOC glowing in the dark looked excellent, so here it is: http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x425/Lightninging63/100_4232.jpg I intended for this to look better.. but there were too many figures, and the lighting on my camera is off. It's supposed to be my "Big Baddie" proving dominance by choking the defiant Xplode (another MoC of mine), while Black Geiser (the guy in the background) and Meltdown look on. http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x425/Lightninging63/100_4090.jpg And here's another Meltdown pic. http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x425/Lightninging63/100_4123.jpg Enjoy, and do tell me what you think. :) Cirkit

I had one a few years back, dismantled now. It was a big, buff, black and silver beast with wide shoulders, huge fingers (like Axonn's), a Rahkshi head with a jaw(that took some work), and very skinny, small legs. It looked ridiculous. I tried to beef up the torso, but my sis said it looked like he had 'boobs' for a stomach.. eh. I made this one-eyed thing recently with HF parts.. it used Stringer's Savage-planet claw with an Exo-force arm and a Barraki eye piece for a head, two long limbs for the right hand, and had a bunch of skinny arms that hung low and did nothing. It looked very weird to me.. and incomplete. I'm sure I'll make weirder eventually.. it'll just take a long, boring day and a ton of caffeine to get it again.
-
Thanks, Rocketbilly. I do have some, but only one non-torso shell in the right size. Might be getting another soon.. we'll see.
-
Thanks all for the feedback, I really appreciate it. @ Aanchir, Thanks The leg armor took some work. It turns out that only a 3 or 4 size shell can be used to do this, unless you were to get a longer bone piece like on the Fire Lord legs. The shin armor still wobbles a little, but the engine piece keeps it steady. I'm glad you like it/them. @ K-nut, that sounds like a very good idea, and I would.. if I had two more printed pieces. I've got one, but I don't want Xplode to be asymmetrical. Perhaps maybe some size 3 black shells instead? Hmm. And @ ZORK64, Thanks very much. I really did try to make him look like he fits in with the rest of the new system characters, and I'm glad you're glad with my work. As for the foot, I suppose that could work, but I didn't want the back to be bare.. But, at the same time, the lack of the Skrall armor piece made me sad. So I'll give your suggestion a go, and try to post pics of it in the next week.. hopefully with less blur. Thanks again! Cirkit

Huh.. interesting comic. The Gold BP helmet on Rocka isn't a good look though.. And why is TR yellow? Some things about the comic just don't make sense. Oh well.. Edit: Buy multiple? Like for bones and blades? Makes sense.

Woah, that was a quick reply! Thank for the comment. I did try my best with the camera, looks like I'll have to find my tripod. :/ The arm were meant to mock the original Xplode's, they were lanky and unarmored.. but I think you're right, they could do with a little bit of armor.
