  1. Heh heh. I too think the helmets were pulled off well. Rocka's still looks a little off to me, maybe it's the visor not covering the mouth? I can see Stringer's helmet quite well with a dark blue visor, but Surge's is a bit harder to imagine. The rest of the Hero's builds may not have been that flashy this year, but that's why we revamp stuff. I can tell I'm already going to have fun messing around with Bulk's build.. By the way, ditto on the sword and shield. Breez's tools are growing on me more and more as well.
  2. Kind of got a Metru-Nui Makuta going on here with the wings. As I recall, it is mentioned in the books that 'The Shadowed One', leader of the Dark Hunters, disintegrated them with his eye-beams. Shame really. The wings are awesome. The head is built well, and appears very much like the movie Kraahkan(The Mask of Shadows). The body, however small it may appear in comparison to the rest of the body, looks much like the torso the way it was shown on screen. I like what you did with the mid torso and those minifig-looking arm parts; it copies the shape very well. I also like that you gave our favorite Makuta clawed hands, adds to the evil look. I agree about the feet- they do look a lot like how his feet look in the movies. The legs need some kind of bulk I think, but otherwise.. Good MOC.
  3. "Secret Mission # 5". Do the other Hero Factory books have that above the title? I suspect that part above the title might be why we haven't seen Core Hunter or the others on TV- perhaps it's a book-exclusive story. 'Mirror World' sounds about right for Farshtey. We had the 'Mirror Universe' in Bionicle, maybe 'Mirror World' is like that in a sense? Hero Factory is evil and that jazz. Or, it could just be a world covered in mirrors, glass, and ice. That would be pretty cool. Breez on the cover is great. Just now noticed that she has a mouth-shaped indent in the helmet. That's interesting.. Thanks to Mr. Gundam on the info about the Double-Angular beam, that really helps out a lot. Also, the idea Jetrax99 had about the scientist accidentally releasing the slugs is pretty neat. It sounds believable for Hero Factory, and could be an excellent twist- the scientist, maybe thinking of using the slugs for evil at one point, decides the brain slugs are an abomination his/herself and sides with the Factory to take them down. I would still love to see a Brain King/Queen, either a being controlled by multiple slugs, or one made up of them, but if there were another scientist titan figure, I think that would be great. Even better, if we could have our first 'female' titan-sized figure for Hero Factory in that place(at least by character). Wait, I got it. The Titan comes as a two-pack, featuring the female 'villain' or titan, and a mutated, brain-controlled creature with it? I'm just throwing ideas out here..
  4. That is one possibility. The brains being part of an experiment that escaped the lab? I bet if there is an episode for this 'Brain Attack' wave, 'Nebula will be hinted at being behind the whole thing. If that were so, wouldn't it be awesome if 'Nebula's 'Brain-Aliens' turned on him, and made him their slave(or a new Titan set)? If the Brains invaded Makuhero City(<- this sounds like the title of a play, but I can't figure out which one), I could see the worker bots, or perhaps different forms of XT4 being taken over by Brain-control. Worst case: They get to Makuro D: On the plus side, he'd finally be in a set!
  5. Bruizer's arm is starting to make sense to me. Here's what I'm thinking: Whatever bone extension on the shoulder is connected to one of those black cup pieces with the 3 plus-axle connections. There's a blue plus/round pin connection part, which is put into that black cup part, and into the Technic beam. The round pin connecting the beam is what gives Bruizer his function. I would imagine that the small black ball parts and more blue pins are what holds the fist and armor in place on the beam. If this confuses anyone, I'll gladly do a mockup and post it here. I like that the sets are going for more of a Technic/Action Figure Building System blend, but I'm not sure how Scarox will benefit from that...
  6. That sounds interesting. Is it one that you take a front-on or 3/4 view pic of your face, and the app morphs the picture for you? Also, I'm beginning to see what's up with Rocka's helmet. Short visor, long helmet. Ah well, at least we know the brains can't effect Heroes unless they're on top of their heads.. right? EDIT: That last line is an assumption.
  7. Okay, I can finally see how bad-A Breez and Orgum are now. Vine fingers, hard, round armor, a flail and that face? Orgum looks to be a real threat to the galaxy. (Also, the glowy green parts look so much better in this light) But here comes Breez, to capture the foe and save the day! With her sleek armor, buzzsaw-shield and staff, she's ready for action! I too am a little disappointed that Bruizer isn't all bley, but his appearance still works. Still think his head looks Megatron-esk. The function Front mentioned isn't really visible from this angle, I'm more curious about it than ever. I am upset that while Bruizer can get metallic dark grey feet, Rocka has silver feet which really clash with the rest of his look, even though the sword, shield, and trans elements are still pretty cool looking. No new Bulk shot though.. shame. The angle with Scarox is great, really shows off the Brain. I see something like an Exo-Force arm stuck in there, wonder what it's for? Pyrox looks like an absolute beast with that face, and I love the trans elements. Furno rocks the fire-blades well, in fact I think he's the best looking of the wave. Anyone else think he looks darker than usual, less like a Hero and more like the villain? And... Yes, yes, and more yes!! 8D
  8. Talk about functionality! Imagine what one could do with a clip on the head like that..
  9. That is one majorly impressive blend of system and 'HF'. This Warlord looks large, imposing, and surprisingly proportionate. The Gears on the sword and wings are neat, and I like the way the wings attach to the body. I see those new bone parts from XT4 ( cup-o-ball-o-hing) are being put to good use on the legs, and I did a double take when it came to the red 'Reapa masks.. Are they trophies of war, or just part of his bodywork? The ankle- the point where the cup and the ball meet- looks a little bare, and I don't think it could stand up to supporting the weight of the system/HF meld body on its own, without on of the new friction cups. It's a minor qualm. The feet themselves remind me of the Piraka.. :D And that spine.. oh that is just too good. As I said at the start, this is majorly impressive. It gets the thumbs- up from me.
  10. I can make out the slightest bit of green under the bottom of Breez's helmet. Either it's part of the visor, or her head's gonna be green too.. She's growing more and more on me, especially with that Helmet and staff. The silver feet aren't doing it for me. I can see the round-pin connection under Furno's hanging torso cladding, which leads me to assume that he does indeed use those Stormer XL triple-holed parts. Yay. Something about Furno's neck looks a little odd. Take a close look at the black shapes beneath his helmet. I agree something odd is going on with Bruizer's elbow. Technic-beam, who knows. Scarox's bio makes me wonder if perhaps the back part detaches and forms a spider for him to control? It would explain the unnecessary Technic parts on the back. Or perhaps it's just experimenting with another method to attach limbs. Hmm. The pics look better, but the only way I'm going to know how certain things are on these new sets is when they come out. Someone will post reviews on here and Youtube, or I'll go get the sets myself.
  11. Brain slug.. Looks like a little of both. Interesting.
  12. Thanks guys. I didn't think of the head like that, suppose you're right. Gives me a whole new outlook on this guy, let me tell you. I wanted to give this guy two eyes, but I could not find the right parts to make it happen. I messed around with the lower arms for a while, but they didn't look right in any other size. I tried putting the cladding on sideways but it caused too much friction with the 2.0 torsos on the arms and kept popping those off. I'll see if I can do something about the arms, the holes when visible in the front are quite distracting...
  13. Twelve arms? That doesn't seem excessive at all I'm kidding, that sounds awesome. I had a thought that maybe, just maybe, if the "Brain Attack" wave continues in summer, then I think there will either be a massive XL Brain villain like DraikNova and I have posted about previously, or (if paired with Stormer) a snow-or-ice-themed monster. I've just built a snowman creation, uses a lot of the Stormer XL parts, it wasn't too difficult, and I think one could be made as a medium-sized set rather easily if one wanted. Just another thought. Oh, and I anticipate the arrival of the new heads when the Brain Attack wave hits the shelves. Can't wait.
  14. What on earth could this be? Hmm... EDIT: Bio Time This guy's codenamed "Ice Man". He is a new recruit for Dark Matter's group, but has a cold attitude and a big reputation in the crime community. He will make quick work of any situation with his ice-based abilities, including the ability to create weapons out of pure, undiluted ice crystal, like the ax and shield shown. The spike buttons on his chest are used as a last-resort attack. They act as tracking missiles, that once lodged in their target, use Ice Man's energy to fry the foes circuits. The energy used takes a toll out on Ice Man, but fortunately, leftover energy from the attack can be reclaimed if the missile is reached quick enough. Ice Man stands at roughly 9 feet tall, assuming the standard HF 2.0 Hero is roughly 6 feet. These have got to be my best photos of a MOC ever Please, leave a comment. -Cirkit
  15. It's just an assumption.. I don't know if that's the case, but I hope it is. I don't want to have a short bone piece hanging there just to cover a gap, it would move around too much when posing. You're going to go double-buzz-saw on XT4? Nice.
  16. I agree with N13OS.. Surge does kinda look Mega-Man-ish. Not a bad thing, mind. I imagine Surge as a young character (he is a rookie, after all) and the rounded look helps with that. I like the tubing, and the overall torso-construction. I'm not sure if the spiky things on the shoulders are for armor attachment or if they are part of the armor My mistake, they are shoulder pads. Looks different. The idea for the battery backpack is excellent. It would work for extended missions well, and it looks great too, with the HF logo incorporated onto it. I like also what you did for the rifle and the electricity blade. There's something about that transparent look that just works. :D
  17. Congratulations! Now on to the actual game! I'd hate it if that happened... The idea about villain-mode is an interesting one, and could just work. I would think, even with a 'freeroam' game, that there would be a HF-builder-like part for customizing your character, but with the ability to turn and flip parts, something not available in any online HF builder. Perhaps as time goes on playing the game, you can unlock more parts and tools to customize the character? Like those round shoulder-pad parts, or Savage Planet Paw parts, or.. other things. Yeah.
  18. That is one awesome MOC. It's built with Hero-Factory system parts, but it's reminiscent of Bionicle in its style, and I really like that. The Contempt guy looks superb on his own. I love the method you used for his helmet-tubes, or at least that which I can see. It looks like they use those Exo-Force fingers to clip onto a Savage-Planet paw piece? Nice. Contempt looks well armored on the front, sides, and back, those boots look awesome, and I love the claws too. Simple but effective. Skrall armor. Man that's awesome. Contempt's little 'pet' reminds me a tiny bit of Lazerbeak from the Transformers series. Maybe it's the shape. It's compact but looks effective, ready to kill or mangle or make evil sock puppets or something. I feel that when it's on Contempt's shoulder, it looks a little obtrusive, like Contempt can't turn his head or something. I think it looks better in his hand/on his arm, maybe the pet could be used as a hand-held weapon while not in flight. Again, love what you've done here.
  19. What a shame. But, if it means we get more function out of it, then I can be happy with the new head. I've been trying to figure out how Furno's trans-orange cladding connects to the torso. I don't think it's just on a bone hanging there to cover the gap; I think the cladding is connected via the new grey 3 hole ball part found on Stormer XL, and that's connected off the torso somehow. It sounds confusing when I try to put it in words. :/ The more I look at Breez, the more I like her new form. Now that I know the bow isn't a bow, I'm much happier. The small cladding on the lower legs bugs me, but at least the bone is covered. The helmet looks great, and it's always nice to have another buzz-saw in the collection.. I still need to pick up an XT4..
  20. I found myself wondering the other day if the new heads would be just square-shaped with axles all over. I hope it's not. I mean, yes, simpler can be better, but I do want the head piece to look like a head even without the helmet. Do you know what I'm saying? I wonder if the helmet visors (on the HF characters) clip on to the helmet when down, so they don't flop all over the place if the head is moved.. that would seem like a good idea.
  21. Hmm.. I was about to suggest the method you just described to make minifigure balloons until I read the topic. Could the upside-down cone parts without the ball parts, attached to a 'Harry Potter want' part work? Forget that. Just realized how much like cotton candy that would look, instead of looking like balloons. I wish I could help, but I can't think of a proper way either.
  22. Nice use of the Drilldozer torso cladding. I tried something similar to the red 'brother' not too long ago, the large shoulder-pad under the other made it difficult to pose the arm without the top pad popping off! However, it did look pretty great. I'm glad to see those Stringer bear-helmets being put to good use as well. That first shot of the red 'brother' is really cool. It's like the kind of pose you expect to see on a movie or video game cover, and there's just something about that helmet in that shot that just works.
  23. I do believe you mentioned that a little while ago, yes. I could see pin-slugs made quite easily, but I imagine it would be easier to just use the pre-existing slug molds. Goodness knows how versatile those are. If that doesn't prove to be the case, well.. pin-slugs it is! I'd love to see Stringer as an XL too, but if we have one this wave, surely we won't in the next wave? Related to this wave, I hope only the 5 Heroes/Villains of this wave feature in any upcoming episode(unless a Breakout Part 3 comes out, unlikely as that is), instead of shoehorning Stormer or the others not from this wave in to the spotlight. I want Breez and the others left out of the Breakout episodes to have a chance to shine. If any Heroes/Villains not released this wave were to feature in a 'Brain Attack' episode, I'd hope it be briefly. Like a mission update from Stormer or Surge, or a clip of a glowing 'Brain King(hypothetical XL bad guy)' in the dark, laughing evilly and vowing to rain destruction and chaos or something like that. Wouldn't that be awesome??
  24. Interesting set up. For whatever reason, the shed windows remind me of church windows. Not a bad thing, mind, I rather like the look. A tall, sturdy engine shed with tall windows and doors, and a sturdy diesel to keep dry from the rain or snow or whatever befalls this LEGO world in winter. Speaking of which, where did you find that diesel's stripy buffer-beam/plow? The signal box looks great. I can't tell what's going on inside there, but it looks like the signalman has everything he needs. I really like the colors used for the box, and I like the little wooden crossing on the tracks. I like the details, they really bring the set to life. I like that grey oil drum, very creative method in making it appear to be so. And the workmen recycle! How cool is that? I never would have known about the new bricks in the shed. Is there no way to fix the gap? It's not really that noticeable on first glance. It looks great. I do hope you decide to add more to it. The little diesel does need some trucks to shunt around, after all, and there isn't much space it can do it
  25. First thing I thought of when I saw this- "Ghost Train". Not like the 'Monster Hunters' line with the skull face and the ghosts driving the train, or like in 'Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends' with Percy covered in lime, but a white and grey ish locomotive with clear 'ghostly' wheels and glow in the dark features. I imagine the part could be used for loads of other things, but I really wanna see a ghost train.
