  1. I didn't realize that would offend anyone. I've never heard anyone say 'No' instead of 'Na'.. I'll try my best to use the former from now on, sounds so much more appealing. What do you think of the combiners seen briefly in the video reviews? Like the lazer-buzzsaw-giraffe, or the evil Mynotor? ;) I thought they were much better this wave than before.
  2. I have to say this: ..you wouldn't want to see Stormer when he's angry. I like Stormer, I really do- much better looking than the Hulk is, colors and all. I feel while the feet do look a little bit off for this big hero, they are very stable and will work great with MoCing big creations(or perhaps serve as armor plating for a future vehicle? That would be awesome), and some of the black limbs stand out a bit much in some areas. That new piece to connect the lower leg armor looks very useful, as does that new double-cup piece in the 'armpits'. This guy's one to get I think. Just keep the coffee mugs away from him and we'll all be fine If you didn't get the reference, that's o-kay!
  3. Quadraped with cannons, lazers, and a huge buzz saw jutting out from underneath? I am so there! Er, I mean I like it I could see that happening with such a small piece like that. You're giving me ideas, very very good ideas. I'd love to see what others do with that torso in MoCing.. EDIT: The Lazer-giraffe Nex/XT4 combiner comes in second, right behind the Evil Minotar that Bulk and Core Hunter make 8D
  4. Methinks Frost Giant, at first glance. A Hero-Factory Yeti, perhaps? Build's good so far, even if the majority of the legs are Fire-Lord build. I look forward to seeing more as it progresses.
  5. I've only seen the Hero and Villain in action poses in the magazine. Seeing them here is great for me. The Villain is a great build with well distributed colors(notice where the launcher is placed.. that made me laugh), and a great back story. "Sworn Enemy to Black Phantom", nice. The Hero isn't terrible, but he does look a little odd to me in that pose. I felt in the magazine he looked cooler. The back story is also kind of flat, though I did like that last bit. Thanks for posting the pics, Dorek. :)
  6. This pretty much. There needs to be a Rampant Animal Zoo-Escape theme just so we can have new Lions, Bears, Birds, Lizards, Turtles.. I want to see a cute cuddly Panda made, A new Elephant with a flexible trunk, A big lion or a tiger that isn't Tigger, and perhaps maybe a Frilled Lizard/Dragon. That would be cool I think.
  7. Thank you so much for the kind comment! Since taking the pic I rearranged some of the armor so it wouldn't pop off when the legs moved, but neglected to take any photos before dismantling him. I have something.. bigger.. in the works now. I am sorry it's been so long, got caught up doing other things. I have thought to upload a video featuring a look at all angles of Dark Matter, one I filmed a little while ago. It might be better than having so many pics cluttering up my posts, and I think I should just do video with each MOC. Thoughts on that idea would be great :) I'll be posting some new MOCs soonish. Need to get my camera sorted, and build some helmets for my figures. That Black Phantom helmet gets old fast.. when it's not on BP, Voltix, SD, or my DM. :/ EDIT: Here is that video. Apologies for the shaking, I did not have my tripod with me. I don't know how to make the video appear on the page :/ Sorry guys.
  8. The detail on these is fantastic. Each one has it's own little quirks that make it unique, like the spinny 2x2 pieces being used as fans on the green house, and the red axle balls on the bottom of the steps of the pink house, and the bricks on the tan house- I REALLY like that those were put to good use. Wait, hang on, is that a Toilet seat being used as a Basketball hoop?? Nice! I would have used the old Lego Basketball hoop myself, it is already made to look like a hoop, but I bet it might be too big for that house.. ah well. It's a great looking, inspired scene, and if this is only a small chunk of a mega-project, well.. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us.
  9. Thanks! Wasn't really expecting that. There is one thing regarding this Xplode(and I did on mine too ) that seems to have been overlooked- The length of the arms. On the set they were lanky, and a fair bit too long. In both revamps the arms are average length, the hands stop too far from where they're meant to be. It's a tiny issue, but one that can be easily corrected. Provided the figures are still together, of course.
  10. That was unexpected! I thought we'd have to wait another wave before those started coming in sets. They look good, really nothing's seemed to change but the socket, and I'm just fine with that. Now all we have to wait for are the heads :D
  11. Nice little collection of revamps here! Xplode looks great, I see you used the same method for attaching the shin-guards as I did- it's a useful method, don't you think? The colors are spot-on, and the whole figure looks great, but I would have liked to see a shot with the back spike-flap up.. but that's just me. While not my favorite villain of the bunch, Corroder looks good as well. The method for the back armor attachment looks interesting, is it only connected via the bottom torso ball? Ah, then there's Meltdown. I've done him twice and couldn't figure out a proper place to put the Toxic Waste Canisters. I like how you did that. The other thing I particularly like about Melty are the claws- they're independent from the shields on the arms, so he's got something to grab stolen goods with, and a whip, AND a launcher to take care of those pesky Heroes. Very nicely done I think. :) Lastly, Thunder, the guy I wish I'd bought when I had the chance. He was so cool, with the big claw, that jaw, and the big blade on his back.. The way you made Thunder really shows off how awesome he really is. I like that you kept his claw as the hand and not just as a tool, and gave him the regular hand on the other side, and the shoulder armor for his claw-arm makes it look just that much tougher. The way you attached the crescent blade too was really nice. The Technic parts on the back had me puzzled though- does the shield part wobble around on the front? I liked the asymmetry of the original set, glad you kept it here. :) Overall they're not a bad bunch of revamps. Maybe a teeny bit plain, but they keep close to the original looks, and that's fine by me.
  12. Was there a contest or something? Wait, I see the post. Never mind. There's a bunch of stop motion videos.. and one or two funny ones. "Heroes Catching Villains" and "Hero Factory Ride Along" were my favorites. I thought "Hero Spice" was going to be funnier than it was.. :/ Oh well.
  13. Oh yeah, forgot. Well at any rate, Nocturn needs a tentacle.
  14. I wasn't expecting this. Especially with the lack of light/sky blue parts.. I mean, those glow in the dark parts made Nocturn, well, Nocturn.. and I feel personally that there's a bit much going on with the lime. I also feel he should have his tentacle-whip in his empty hand, but if you're going for a pre-Pit Nocturn then I can understand the lack of it being there. I also feel that his hands should be blue, just to match up with the original set. However many faults I think there are, I think you've done a great job bringing Nocturn into the Hero Factory realm. The triple-jointed legs feel.. right, somehow, and I really like the method used for his jaw. Perhaps if he had the silver spikes as teeth as he did on the original set, the jaw might look a little more.. toothy. To me, it kind of looks like Nocturn lost his upper dentures I think it's great, but with some tweaking here and there it can look even better.
  15. No matter how this movie turns out, be it in production style, voice acting, storyline, or rating, I just hope it doesn't end up being called HERO FACTORY: The Movie I mean, that would sound kind of plain, instead of it being something like "Ordeal of Fire" or "Breakout". But that's all I really care about right now, not Surge's voice, not human-bot interaction, not violence levels, none of it, until more details come out about the movie. EDIT: Just thought of an awesome movie title. If Von Nebula, Rotor, etc. are used: HERO FACTORY: Nebula Rising
  16. So yeah, pretty much that. I don't mind Rocka just being Rocka. He's a one name guy, easy to remember by fans and foes, fully charged Core and ready to go. ..or something like that.
  17. Despite agreeing with what you said about lions generally having leaner figures, I also agree that the bulk does the MOC good. He's a bot, packed with upgrades, no matter what animal he's meant to represent. I like that you've given him hands and claws, however I feel the use of the silver paw pieces instead of gold or black is a little off putting. I also liked (while focusing on the upper body)how much bulk there was without being too wide, and the fact that he's armored so well in back. I guess the best method for back armor is to just lay the bone pieces there and armor them(it works so well here!).. I ought to try that the next time I build a bulky figure. I think you should leave the black pieces on the shoulders- gives Rocka a wild feel, and if you let your imagination really soar, you could imagine those pieces as some sort of leafy camouflage when he's out stalking prey through the bushes of Quatros.. That big guy next to Rocka in the last pic.. I had a project, still working on it, that looked pretty big.. until I saw that leg. I mean, wow. Judging by the colors I'm assuming you're going to create a Mega-FireLord? Sweet.
  18. There are people who play robots, an option I'd rather not have, and then there is motion tracking(basically sums up what I said earlier). Use the movements of the humans, copy them, increase the size, whatever, and make the CG bot do the movements. They may move like humans and speak like humans, but animation-wise they are all bot. Speaking of Voices, if Surge is featured in the movie, I think he should get a different voice actor. His high, squeaky voice in the episodes is unbearable. And, If Mr. Makuhero is featured, I think someone like Ben Kingsley (Prince of Persia, Hugo) would be great for the wizened old bot. What do you all think?
  19. All I have to say is this- BREEZ SMASH! All joking aside, the build is very Hulk, and not one that I particularly enjoy. However, the color scheme is nice, and keeps to the look of Mirroverse's 'good' set. The length added to the legs is quite welcome, to me it makes her look a bit more threatening than Hulk with his puny little legs, and the back makes her look very solid, and those blades.. I'm getting a Transformers-windflap vibe from those. The only things I truly dislike are the Hero cores on the knee cladding. The hand cores aren't that bad, but the leg cores are distracting. Perhaps if they were replaced by another set of Breez shoulder-bubble pads they might look better? I get that the Hulk build isn't as good as others, but it needs to be improved upon somehow. The method used to connect the blades to the back looks good, fills in the gaps a bit more, and I like that. Overall it's not a bad MOC, and the backstory is quite interesting. :)
  20. Mine won't let me pose the darn figure, but I've made two so far, and they're not so bad. I am a little cross at the fact that TR's parts don't appear in the gallery. A glitch, I know, one that could have been avoided. Among my little nitpicks are these- The colors Orange, Silver, Purple, and Lime are strangely lacking from the selection. Silver is an issue especially, with coloring the headgear and tools. Certain Cladding (like the piece used for TR's lower-arm) cannot be rotated, or added to the legs or upper arms. The heads are limited, though the selection of all the 2.0 headsets and caps are great. Did I mention there is a lack of Orange and Purple? Really ticks me off that they'd forget Orange.. I like that the options for spikes and stuff is available, and the rotating feature. If the posy- option worked for me, and if the TR parts appeared in the gallery, that would be terrific. I hope there is an update soon. ..but yeah, that's my thoughts.
  21. As I said on the BZPower forums, if live-action is used, I expect people to do whatever movements are necessary for the bots while wearing these bodysuits with big, white dots on them to track movement, while standing in front of a green screen, so later the movements can be taken, the bot can be rendered in CG and made to follow the movements, and the people can be cut out completely. That's how I would do it. As for actual people, I wouldn't mind a Transformers-type thing going on there, with bots coming to Earth to fight an old evil (*coughNEBULAcough*), or with Humans working in the HF facilities(whoever mentioned that in the other thread, it's a great idea, I wouldn't be surprised if they went with it) along side the Human-sized bots. OR, similar to Avatar or The Matrix, the humans could be plugged in to pods and enter the bodies of the bots, controlling them and whatever, though I doubt that's to happen. Any way it does happen, I look forward to seeing updates as they come. It's a big opportunity for LEGO, one that they should take a chance with. But I really hope it won't be like that commercial. I mean, that stank.
  22. I don't remember a purple headpiece.. unless you're talking about Onepu's mask, then that makes sense. Purple and gold used together(most likely in a villain set) would be great, wouldn't it? I'd like to see some more of that Green Lantern bright green in action, as well as blue- it's just not used enough on villains, or even with the Heroes, and I'd like to see that happen more.
  23. That is one impressive gun. Hang on, is that.. Oh my gosh, is it possible to operate the gun?? That's so Raven wicked! And the gun itself looks so good, what with those HF pieces and the targeting piece from Gali Mistika(that is a really useful piece, wish I had a few).. looks like the sort of weapon ready to do some damage. And the guy holding the gun isn't bad either. He's sleek, his color scheme is consistent, and he's a great mix of the old and new building systems. You've really done well making this big guy and his gun, Thank You so much for sharing the pics! One more thing, out of curiousity- do you think you'll build more MoCs with guns? I'd like to see more of this happen.
  24. Hey, it's Arnold! :D I remember the combo from the other thread, and the image a few posts up helps too. In terms of color Arnold hasn't changed much. While I miss the white armor on his lower arms, the lack of it on the revamp makes him look more.. solid, consistent. The white head/core is sort of like a neutral zone, keeping balance between the lime and orange, rather like that. I see you've replaced the new Zamor meteor blaster from Breez with a shoulder-mounted Midak, nice change I think, keeps his hands open for fighting or holding an oily beverage or whatever robot hands are supposed to do. Those fins/wind flaps (the blade-type pieces) look cool on the back, though I can't imagine their purpose. Maybe part of a jet pack, or something to help him speed up/stop quick? All up to the imagination for now. I have but one complaint. The length of the legs bothers me a tiny bit. The way they are now make Arnold look apelike, long arms and short legs, and to me makes that crotch plate(nice use of the part, btw) look gigantic. However I did read the comment a few before mine, and completely understand. Stronghold is meant to look bulky, and if the legs are too long they'll look too skinny against the bulk, and ruin the flow. I'd recommend picking up the Voltix set when it comes out, so you can use the special new armor piece that fits on top the cladding for Arnold's lower legs. That way if you increase the length of the lower leg it won't look so stretched. :) Geez I talk waaay too much. I really like the revamp, looks great. Can't wait for that backstory!
  25. Ooh! Now that I have a better look of the new guys(save Stormer, Speeda, and Core Hunter ), I think everybot looks great! I love the golden-yellow color for the top of the bags, wish that was used more often on packaging. I still love Voltix's color scheme, the lightning-bolts and the purplelilac armor pieces(unprinted lilac torso armor AHH ) especially. I wish though that his meteor-launcher could have been lower-arm mounted, without a real hand it looks kind of odd. The only other villain, XT4, looks better now too. That part of the mold on top of his head looks like a beret to me, and now I can't stop thinking of him as being the one-eyed French, psychotic, four-armed robot. The use of the possible system brick for the right claw/lazer is interesting to me, as are the wires coming out the front instead of the back. As for the other side, all three have grown on me. I thought Nex looked a little odd with that glaring white torso, but it's not so bad now with the orange print on the torso. Is that a harpoon on his shoulder? I'm not too sure. But I am sure that Stringer still looks excellent. The open back worries me a little, as he is a 'small' set, but I imagine that can be easily fixed. As for Bulk, the lack of silver used to worry me, but now I'm not so bothered by it. The gear print on the torso is perfect for Bulk I think, and I like that the shoulder-mounted missiles match somewhat. Gunmetal and orange is a rather nice color scheme, but the one thing that throws it off for me is that red limb part used to hold the shoulder-gun.. it looks out of place compared to the rest of Bulk, but despite this he's still the Hero I desire most. Thanks for sharing the photos, I'm still very excited about the summer wave, and the TV series too- I hope we get to see all of these guys in action(that haven't already been) soon!
