  1. If (and hopefully when) I purchase XT4, it'll be for his buzzsaw, black 6M cladding, and the bone pieces that the black cladding connects to. Never had those before in the HF system (at least not that I know of), and certainly not in that bright light grey. Those two parts would work perfectly for a samurai-based MOC I'm working on.. had a slight niggle with the legs, but those two bones should fix it.
  2. Did anyone notice Bulk's. Gun in the Stringer/Voltix commercial? It looked suspiciously like his 1.0 gun to me, in shape and proportions...!!
  3. Woah! Stringer's rockin' out! Neat mod. More guitary= more to music/sound theme= more awesome.
  4. Looks.. well, looks like Fire-Lord with lilac bones. I would think that a villain, female or male, would stick with the bone colors already readily available. However, I like the method used for the torso there. I'm not sure what you'd use for weapons or a head. I may have been building with action-figurebuilding system for a while, but I haven't had too much head-building experience. As for weapons, 3 out of 5 of the titan villain sets of the last few years have had staffs.. why not make this villain have something different? Like arm-blades or something. Hahaha... hilarious.
  5. Haven't had any of those lately, have we? Female villains, I mean. Last one I remember was Roodaka. It would be a nice change, and perhaps said female villain could be blue or purple, seeing as we have had a lack of those colors in sets for a while..? Just a thought. What would you want a female villain to be like in terms or appearance, character, etc? I see the brown and agree. Maybe the greenish look I'm thinking of was caused by reanimation, or perhaps something with my TV's color is off.. hmm. Either way, they were cool, and I think if a zombie line was intro'd to HERO FACTORY that elements from that and other Zombie media would be great for it. Skeletons are pretty cool, but sometimes we get a bit too much of the skeletons in other LEGO lines, and it's nice to see other horror themes emerge, like the Vampyres and Werewolves of the Monster Fighter sets. I've heard very little about that "Empire of Frost", other than it was on IMDB for a little bit(it's a site with movies, cast listings, etc), and then said title was taken down. It would be pretty cool if an all Ice theme was created, like the all Fire-Villain theme, just opposite side of the spectrum. Not a bad idea!
  6. You've seen that too? 'Prime' was the first thing I thought of when the zombies came up.. never could work out why they(the Cybertronian Zombies) were all green, though. Agreed. Haven't really had a Reaper-looking villain in any of the 'buildable action figure' series since Vezon. With the system we have now, I imagine some creativity will have to be used to make a 'Reaper' figure look good and proper.. cape and all. I agree with this as well. I imagine that as time progresses, sets with this sort of idea will emerge, incorporating HF elements more and more.. at least, I hope that's what will happen. I'd like to see a vehicle made using Stormer's new feet as armor, myself.
  7. Zombies aren't such a bad theme.. and seeing how far LEGO's come with Hero Factory, I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to make a Zombie army look good. No offense to Jang, he's a great Bionicle-build MoC'er as far as most of his work goes, but all I see here are Agori builds with old style Toa heads and Krana, and Kratta on the torso. Other than the two rubbery additions, there's really nothing special or zombie-like about them.. at least, in my opinion.
  8. I've seen the two Heroes before.. on an art-sharing/critiquing site that I probably shouldn't mention by name. The Black Phantom/Rocka face-off cover is very interesting, what with BP emerging from a hole in the wall(that he probably made), with the smoke and the embers floating around.. I noticed that Rocka's shoulder-pad doesn't connect to anything on the upper arm, but that doesn't detract from the scene. And to make a quick jump back to Zombies... whoever said "Hero Factory: Zombiepocalypse"(forgive me, I can't spell it right) deserves a pat on the back. Just sayin'.
  9. Found my Tripod, got to charge my camera now. :/

  10. That would be pretty awesome. Maybe, instead there being just 4-6 villain characters as usual, there could be sets released with different types of zombie-villains, to build up an army of the undead? Like a quadruped buzz-saw bot, or a foot soldier with a 'missing' limb, replaced with a third extra arm which is equipped with a cannon? The 'titan' build of the wave would be like Witch Doctor, where there's one villain that could control all the other smaller builds, but, y'know, they're zombies instead of forest animals, and there's an army instead of, like, five animals total. An interesting idea to get the creative juices flowing. BTW I felt like using green because I could. Felt in a green-text mood today.
  11. Core Hunter.. man. The villain and the idea behind him (disabling Heroes) is terrific. While the build is simple, the color scheme is perfect, that mask with that breathing apparatus looks freaky(but good for this guy), and the ammo belt for the Cores is a great idea. I feel the same about the arms- they could have been longer- but they don't detract too much from the overall look and feel of the set. The recolors look very useful, I've been waiting for that black torso piece and the Captain America armor for a while now. Both will be useful for an upcoming 'titan' build of mine.. Aww, the Remover doesn't Remove? Nahh, I'll get over it. The bendy 'function' is amusing. The flaws are easy enough to fix, and if one didn't like Core Hunter(And why wouldn't you, he's friggin awesome) as a set, they could get a fair amount of decent MOCing parts. A fine review on the best in the wave, thanks so much for sharing them with us.
  12. Are those what I think they are? That shocky-bad guy's got some dreads! And He looks great, with that purple lilac and red combo layered like that, and that background, just like when Volty here was in his prime, and- ohmigosh it's stringer 8D I almost thought there for a sec he was part of Voltix.. took a moment there. Nice! I agree somewhat with the voices.. there are too many villains featured with the high-pitched voices and the crackly laughter.. I'd rather have an overly deep-voiced villain like House on Doctor Who than another Wicked Wobotic Witch of the West. You get what I mean?
  13. I'm glad the hiatus is over. Don't get me wrong, I liked watching all those reruns and infomercials(no I didn't, I hate infomercials that aren't about nut-chopping machines or orange cloths), but it's nice to have something new again. :) I like what you did with Breez and Surge. Sleeker but simpler armor, the core or heartlight or whatever you wanna call it isn't smack in the middle, and where it and the HF logo are placed is rather appealing to me. Breez's legs look pretty great(upper), and what you did with Surge's electric-sword-thing is pretty great as well. It acted as a sword on TV, looks great as one here. Gotta say, the way Surge's face looks, I could really easily believe it if he went 'to the Dark Side'. I mean, he actually looks pretty badass! Rocka(or at least, I'm assuming it's Rocka) looks cool too, falling down.. why his arm's off I don't know, I'll just assume Phantom or somebody ripped it off while they were battling or something. Then we got the Bionicle guys. And girl. And Robot-shell-ball-thing-of-awesomeness The pair do look like real warriors, with their chain-mail, Gresh's awesome shoulder padding, and muscly goodness.. the pouches on both's waists are a nice touch. The colors look good, I'm glad the two look similar(they're all one race, right? Just different villages) and I love what you did with Gresh's hair.. apparently, they don't have barbers on Bara Magna A different look but keepin' it the same. Nice. Finally, we got that Bohrok. Friggin' sweet. That Bohrok is.. well.. Friggin' Sweet is the best I can do right now. It's got the look of the Bohrok, the round ball-like feel of the Bohrok, It's got the correct looking shield-claws for the Bohrok (nice!), but it's sleeker and more insect-looking round the head, and it makes me really, really, REALLY happy. This is how I would have liked the Bohrok to be seen. This really makes the Bohrok feel so much less like a Lego toy and more like something you'd see in an action movie as the alien invaders or something like that. This.. well.. Really great job to you creating it. Oh, that caption's pretty funny too. The look on Lewa's face xD
  14. Nothing new in the catalog, however the spread looks great. That White Ninjago Dragon caught my eye, as did the cart in the Mining set, and the Friends sets.
  15. Finally, a decent shot of the Mino.. no, Cent.. I'm just going to call it a "Horse-Man-Bot", and hope nobody gets angry. And, a great review of Bulk! I agree with the color scheme, much more appealing than the silver before, though the inclusion of it in the head, shoulders, and hand are most welcome. I can't figure out why that part on the shoulder-rocket is red, when black or grey could have easily been used(The only other red of any kind is in the head, and there isn't enough of it to balance it all out).. That part's not my cup of tea. However, with the parts included in the set, like those yummy 5-long cladding parts in orange, the Captain-America armor, and that torso (drools), and his coolness-factor, Bulk might be worth picking up for me. I thoroughly look forward to the review of Core Hunter.. I hope this guy's worth the wait.
  16. Anti-Heroes? As opposed to just plain Villains? Has a nice sound to it.. IF, and that's a very big IF, VN were to return in set form, I wouldn't be surprised if he used the new Stormer build.. for at least the legs anyway. It would be cheaper, and I don't want to see any more FireLord/Rocka XL/Black Phantom leg builds, especially not for a VN redesign. However, that being said, that 'Hunchback Witch-Doctor' idea sounds rather nice as well.. The biggest Villain of the series should be the best designed, right? The idea with changing blue to purple also appeals to me, although I would like to see a mostly-blue villain emerge first.. there aren't enough of those in Hero Factory.
  17. That last line made me think. Surely, the red ball sockets couldn't be attached to the balls of two slightly longer lower arms, then have HF hands in black or lilac instead? The wires would still connect at a point and that tentacle could be placed in the non-launcher hand? Just a thought I had. The review is excellent, covers this 'electrifying' new set very well. His color scheme doesn't make sense, yet it all goes together so well(that yellow tentacle.. maybe not so much). That switch function is intriguing to say the least, I think I would have way too much fun messing around with it and posing Sparky here. I initially thought that was how those parts were going to be. A lightsaber-width rod, very short, attached to the yellow electric piece, and would fit into a hole in the 'handle'. I am a bit disappointed that wasn't the way it was done, but Voltix still looks interesting(best word I could use)to me. :)
  18. I just find it a wee bit amusing that I mentioned this a week or so ago and nobody noticed. Comic was interesting, I thought Reapa looked a lot bulkier than his set at first, his head was up above where it normally rests in the torso, and the teeth were a nice addition to Voltix. I got a chuckle from Evo's 'formal' line, remembering that meme or whatever it was on here a while back, and I thought the whole comic was a pretty good conclusion overall.. .. I just wish that darn code worked.
  19. I think he mentioned Core Hunter a few posts back as the last set of the bunch.
  20. Thank you both for the corrections, means a lot. Apologies if any of this frustrated anyone,I'm pretty sure I've got my mythical beasts in order now. :) Seriously though- what are you opinions of the combos seen in the videos, however briefly they were glimpsed? Centaur's my fav.
  21. I would LOVE something like that. I can see it now- "Lego City- Train Robbers". Perhaps not exactly how it would sound, what with the robbers using the train to 'smash and grab', but still! As a static piece, perhaps with some historical value(like a set based directly off that picture) might be nice, but I'd rather have something where you can crash the train through the wall, as part of a police chase or something, with a detailed diner on a lower level.. It's an interesting idea, one I'd like to see come to reality. I still think about Thomas the Tank Engine when I see that crash, specifically the episode when Gordon goes through a station wall in a similar style.. !!
  22. Neat-o. Brown's an interesting choice for both engine and stock. It's unusual, but it works very well. The loco looks very much like the Emerald Night engine, though not as striking in those colors. I would think a diesel might look better in brown, and a loco like this in Blue, Black, or Crimson, like the one in rday1982's photo. The coaches look great in their tan with brown lining, that observation coach is my favorite. Perfect mix of UK and US looks, though I wish it was rounder at the back. Overall.. not bad, not bad at all. I would love to see a unique, un-lookalike loco for the front of this train, and perhaps the loco in another color, but overall.. not bad, Mr. Murdoch.
  23. Hard to argue with that.. the colors are pretty similar to the 'magical' gold-dust spreading engine. I like the idea of the train, surprised really that this(or a modern-day passenger train) hasn't been done already for the Friends line. The old American-Western look is nice, love the detail with the rolling stock and loco. I laughed really, really hard at some of the stuff down there describing the stock, italics or not, maybe a bit too hard for my own good. Loved the Monty Python bit in there, nice However.. seeing as this is a Friends line, I would have expected some lime green and the azure blue in there- the Friends use that a lot in their sets. Unless the caboose is already like that? Nice idea. I'd like to see more users come up with things like this in the future.. the Friends could use a proper Rail network!
  24. (Facepalm) I guess I can't keep my mythical creatures in order! Centaur's are the human-horses, so Mynotors are the 2 legged bulls, right? Okay.. again, my bad. I'm not really a fan of the other combiners. Stormer/Speeda looks alright color-wise, but there's too much going on there, and the spidery thing that Stringer and Voltix make up looks a bit.. generic. I've seen too many spider-like combos before, I'm glad of creations that show creativity by the designers part, like the Giraffe. Lazer buzzsaw killer Giraffe..
  25. I don't want to upset the uploader of the videos by screencapping without permission.. .. but you can see the Giraffe combo at 2:09(ish) in the XT4 video, and the Mynotor combo at 1:50-1:53(albeit not very well) in the Core Hunter review I hope this helps :) EDIT: Just got the July/August Lego Magazine, and inside is a Lego Club Code (the name of one of the Heroes) that can be used to access an exclusive online comic, but when I went on the site and entered the code, it wouldn't work D: Tragic, I know.
