  1. Polybags and book minifigs never have new molds, only new prints. The only place you'll see Ponda Baba or any Aqualish is a new Mos Eisley set, or either a Freemakers Adventure set or Rebels set, if an Aqualish is included. Same goes for pretty much every OT species. Personally I'm delighted with the Thug, we'll never revisit Unkar and TFA sets and minifigs will make way for Rogue One and Episode VIII soon. Almost all unmade characters (Niima residents, Maz' Castle patrons, Bala-Tik and the Guavian Death Gang, some of Kanjiklub, Resistance members) could appear in future films.
  2. Why do people want TFA Luke so much as the May the 4th promo fig? We'll be getting him in 2017 anyway, it's sort of like when we got Hoth Han, only for him to be released a few years later, it makes the promo figure feel less special and exclusive. The best figures have been ones you wouldn't expect to get in sets in my opinion, like TC-14, TC-3 and Yularen. There are so many characters I'd like to see more than Luke because I'm happy to wait for him. I don't really watch the PT, but there are so many examples from the OT and ST. Hobbie or Ozzel would fit in with the Hoth set, Jerjerrod, Motti, Tagge and Needa as unique Imperial Officers. Or how about Beru Lars? Or Jessika Pava or one of the many Resistance/FO commanders for TFA?
  3. Has anyone in the UK found a preorder for the special editions of the game? All I can find is the standard edition on Amazon, and I'd really like to get Stormtrooper Finn!
  4. "The game will also feature exclusive playable content that bridges the story gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. " Interesting!
  5. Sauron looks brilliant, I'll definitely be ordering parts when available! Hopefully the Witch-King follows too as you said it might :)
  6. Disney haven't stopped Marvel sets drawn from a wide variety of sources, so I don't see why they'd stop any Star Wars stuff, OT especially. They're some of the most popular films ever, with a huge amount of merchandise. Disney are no mugs, they're not going to stop that. I really hope that Podracer rumour wasn't wrong. I sort of got back into the PT because the sound and price of that set made me nostagic for 1999 and my first Star Wars set (and probably in the first twenty Lego sets) ever.
  7. I was thinking of using some of the Nexo stuff for the Balrog, as well as using the game version and Rakrondewl's as a guide. Also, the King's sword would make a great Dwarf sword for Thorin/Kili/Fili/Dori: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-King-s-Mech-70327?fromListing=listing
  8. Good thing about the X-Wing, apart from the fact it sounds like a good set in its own right, is that we know Encounter on Jakku will have some more Niima Outpost region stuff, rather than the Lor San Tekka encounter. The 'object' Poe is behind probably has a similar amount of bricks as the ladder and small transport in the Black One set.
  9. I love all of the MOCs that make up the whole piece! What is/was going to be the next part, the one in front of Dol Guldur?
  10. Nice review! I am thinking of getting a Jedi Interceptor, not sure if I'll go for this or Anakin's though. The reason I was going to get one was to make one for Vader, do you recommend Obi-Wan's or Anakin's for that purpose? :) I was also going to do an imperial V-Wing and ARC, but I think the OT is demanding all my money at present. Too many stickers, but overall this set doesn't look too bad IMO :)
  11. That's not what chuffed means, brother :D Does the double VIP points fall at the same time every year? I need to get the Sandcrawler, the only time I can justify set over £100 is when I get a lot of points to soften the blow. Any ideas when the next one is? The points will be put towards the 2016 stuff which I am loving so far.
  12. Hopefully Sabine in the A-Wing, if that turns out to be correct, has the alternate colour scheme, as I believe her armour changes colour between S1 and S2. It'd be a waste getting anohter one identical to the last two, with or without her helmet.
  13. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I like Kylo Ren's shuttle in dark grey rather than black. This new set list has lots of stuff we've been asking for for a while, but the prices seem rather steep, but such is Lego Star Wars in 2016. I was hoping Ani's Podracer was $25/£20 sort of price point, as then it might be like an updated 1999 Podracer, a set I loved as a kid. Three minifigs for $25, five for $45, and stick a pit droid in with both and people should be fairly happy With Rogue One sets, it's set just before ANH as far as I know (so set after Rebels) and so X-Wings and standard Tie Fighters will most likely be the fighters of choice, with Star Destroyers and the Death Star being the main Imperial ships, even though the Death Star is not operational yet. With The X-Wing and Tie having released in 2012, as well as the Resistance X-Wing in 2015 and 2016 and FO Tie in 2015, the Star Destroyer in 2014, I hope we don't get updated versions of these sets just yet. As it's not an episodic film, maybe a small run of sets like SWTOR would be best for these anthology films. A couple of battle packs and perhaps three or four other sets released over two waves would likely be enough for Rogue One at least. Hopefully we do get the Vader variant mentioned above, I'd never noticed it before, so good spot! His TIE Advanced set depends on what else is included for me, the same with Rex's AT-TE. Looks like an expensive wave for me if they do it right! :)
  14. That's true, but I don't think this is the case here. I'm working tomorrow, unfortunately, but I'll be checking my local Lego store for the new Microfighters and Battlepacks then.
  15. Either of those were my thinking too!
  16. Maybe the FO General is Doubt that's really a spoiler, but you can't be too careful these days!
  17. Obi-Wan's jedi Interceptor, Hoth Attack, Carbon Freezing Chamber and Kanan's Speeder Bike all £19.99, Homing Spider Droid £34.99, all battle packs £11.99, all Microfighter Series 3 £8.99 on Shop at Home UK, releasing 26th December. I'm happy with that, I'm thinking of getting three £20 sets, two microfighters and still undecided on Battlepacks. I love waves like this at it means I can catch up on sets I've missed, as well as see if I fancy any TFA sets. Which month has the double VIP points? I really want the Sandcrawler, but the price is a bit steep for me to get it without incentive.
  18. Thanks for the poll and indexing! The packaging doesn't give a name, I took it from the Bricklink page. I'm more than happy for it to be changed to the Lego.com title :) Yeah, nostalgic is definitely the word!
  19. Morning all, This is my first ever review, and I picked a tiny set for it! 5003082 is a promotional pirates set, with 24 pieces, one minifigure and a nice instruction booklet with a postcard. I bought this for a fiver on eBay, which seems to be the going rate. It's also available on Bricklink for a similar price. The box is sealed with a sellotape disk, and a tray slides out containing the bricks, instructions and bonus postcard. There is a nice little graphic on the box of Lego Pirates through the ages, which is shown in more detail later on. Unlike most other sets, the bag holding the bricks is glues down rather than vacuum sealed. Underneath the bricks and instructions is the postcard. The theme of this little set seems to be reflecting on the past, and it looks like they have split the theme into 1989-1993, 1994-1997, 2009-2010 and 2015. The skeleton is from the 2015 Pirates Juniors set I believe. The dotted line on the map-like background is a recurring theme in these instructions. Each of the pirates is a sticker, but I'll be keeping them on their backing for now. Finally, on the bottom of the tray is this pirate, again, I believe he is from the 2015 Pirates Junior set. Arrrrr! The instructions have the same cover design as the box, but with an old looking Lego System banner. I don't recall which era this was used in, but I feel it was before my time. There are three steps for the pirate in his barrel, two for the shark and six for the deserted island. The dotted line runs throughout the pages. But hang on, we've reached the end of the instructions, but we aren't even halfway through the booklet yet! More on that later! It wasn't until I got to this image that I realised how bad the lighting was! There are no unique parts here, except for the Pirate's torso. There are no spare pieces in this set, but you get a nice selection of piratey bits. The printed shark is nice, and is making it's Pirate theme debut, although I think it now might be included in the Pirates Junior set. It now has printed eyes and gills. Most other sets it has been included in have been expensive, so it's a nice way to get hold of one cheaply. The barrels and tan parts are always useful for MOCs, and the pirate flag is only available in this set and the aforementioned Juniors one. It's more child-like than the other versions, but has a certain charm. The chrome gold bar and coins make a welcome replacement for the pearl gold ones, and are in their own separate bag. And here is the complete assembly. The palm tree is similar, but smaller in design than the one that appears in 70412 Soldier's Fort, and suffers from the same problem with a grey hook holding it up, when either a tan or brown one would be better, and the palm tree top is in black, rather than either green or brown. Other than that, the set is very neat and useful for expanding 70411 Treasure Island, your pirate army and sea creatures. There are no play features, unless you count spinning the palm tree round and round, but a few good scenarios can be found with so few pieces: Pirate colonising new island Pirate finds treasure on new island Pirate gets drunk on rum after finding treasure on new island Shark attacks Pirate drunk on rum after finding treasure on new island Shark eats Pirate drunk on rum after finding treasure on new island Shark comes back for treasure. Here is the pirate in question. He comes with one of the new style hats and a clear bottle, which as far as I can make out are less common than green or black ones, which is nice. His torso was the main reason that lead me to getting this set though, as I do like variation in my ranks. The belt detailing is fantastic on the front, with a nice skull buckle across the chest. The back has a pouch, a letter and a coin purse. By the looks of it he has been robbed before. And that's the set! However, I promised you the rest of the instruction booklet, so here it is. A rather sweet trip down memory lane, a tribute to the Pirate theme. It's interesting to see the 4+ and Lego Movie sets included! It's lovely the way the dotted line chronologically connects the sets. In conclusion, this little set is great for the minifigure and animal, as well as pirate themed elements. It also has some sort of memorabilia or collectable status with the booklet. The only downside is the poor choice of colour on the hook and the palm tree top. It's hard to say whether it's worth the money as it's a promotional set, but for £5 this is a great little set.
  20. Good morning, I'd love to join and contribute!
  21. I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but does anyone remember the nice custom Isildur and Elendil helmet prototypes posted about a year ago on classic castle? The users bricklink doesn't have these, or the Gondorian helmets available. Were they ever sold, does anyone know? Is this a good place to discuss good third party accessories? Anyone found anything good to share? :)
  22. I'm sure we'll get more Rebels stuff later in the year, I'm glad we got some Microfighters at least. AT-DP almost certainly would have an AT-DP pilot in it, but it'd be nice if it had the alternate darker colouring. Zare Leonis is another possibility. The TIE could have either the Inquisitor, Tie Pilot or Valon Rudor. In reality, he could be as simple as a Tie pilot with a new face print. The Ghost will have Hera, I'm sure. Kanan, Sabine and Ezra have all appeared more than once already, and most of the time Hera stays on board the Ghost, meaning there is more chance of Zeb being in another non-Ghost set. Hopefully the Wookiee ship comes with either Wulffwarro or the generic Wookiee. OT stuff is cool, I'm sure Droid Escape will have something in it worth getting apart from the escape pod. I wish there was a UCS Cloud City, but I'd be happy if it came out in three or four instalments, as with Jabba's line (Skiff, Sailbarge, Rancor, Palace). If so, maybe we can expect a Cloud Car, Bespin Guard Battle Pack and various locations (Vader and Luke's Duel, Lando's Appartment, Torture Chamber, Scrap Metal Line, Corridors, Landing Platform etc) to be released with more characters. I reckon the Hoth set will have Luke, Han and a Wampa, filling out the Hoth minifigs with UCS Hoth Base having Han in the blue jacket and Luke in his recovery robes. The Battlefront packs are intriguing! I'd guess four minifigures, each different. I don't know enough about the new game to say, but if it's anything like Battlefront or Battlefront II, it could be, say, Stormtrooper (blaster rifle), Scout Trooper (sniper rifle), Imperial Engineer (blaster pistol) and Shock Trooper (heavy weapon).
  23. I thought Leia first of all as well, but I guess the Reddish Brown hair, which leia hasn't had for years, says otherwise. No bad thing in my opinion!
