Ragnarök Now Redux - Day One
LegoDad replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
This quote from Wilhalm defending and backing somebody that I find to be a bit scummy at this point bothered me. It didn't quote when multiquoting on my last post for some reason, though I was sure I selected it. Anyway, I have a handful that I have pointed out that could have gotten my vote at this point. Wilhalm drew the short stick for now. -
Ragnarök Now Redux - Day One
LegoDad replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
As Helga also pointed out, why get defensive right away? Odd. While this could be harmless, it struck me a bit like fishing for some info that past players would have that newbs would not. Dufa and Snotra took issue with this as well, and they everybody's favorite vote right now came in and gave it a bit of a defense, which always bothers me. I feel the same way about these early defenses. Why come to someone's aid if you don't know their affiliation. If something needs clarified, ask for clarification, don't run to their side when they're being questioned. Mist defended herself of this, but it is what it is, a Day 1 defense of another player however you look at it. I'm not sure why you would come out and defend yourself against nothing? Though I do agree with you that Wilhalm is one of the oddest so far, but for different reasons. Sigrid's one (and only?) post was off the wall, wasn't sure what that was about at the beginning of the day. Agree with Dufa, seems like a forced vote. I've only felt weird about voting once, and I was on the Loki side of things. Mainly, there hasn't been a whole lot that has REALLY stuck out, but there have been some little things that I have gone over above. I think Naemr, Mist, Wilhalm, and Chlodochar are acting the most "off" today. I don't want to get caught up in bandwagoning at this point, though, since we can change our vote and there is plenty of time if things need to change. I will Vote: Wilhalm Bloodaxe (Whitefang). -
Ragnarök Now Redux - Day One

I apologize for limited participation, the Red-Shirt clan hosted Thanksgiving today and has been very busy. I promise to be much more invested tomorrow and get a vote in. From what I've followed, though, I haven't seen much other than a few posts that have stuck out that have already been talked about. -

Thanks, it actually tastes better than it smells, fortunately. -
Ragnarök Now Redux - Day One

Sure am glad I haven't been afflicted with any of these ailments that are troubling some of our fellow Vikings. Unfortunately, the smell of the cow urine is making the place uninhabitable. Helga, are you done brewing that crap yet? Glad I have my helmet to hurl into. Speaking of medicinal herbs, do we have any others to calm some of you down? -

Lefsi Red-Shirt is here. Can't believe I didn't get any horns on my helmet. How am I going to gore people in battle? -
Ragnarök Now Redux - Sign-ups
LegoDad replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
1) What is your previous mafia experience? I have been in 4 games, as Scum, Town, and 3rd party. Have taken a bit of a sabbatical, but I'd like to play again as more time is allowed this time of year. 2) Are you able to engage in the game for the next six weeks or so? (the game may be briefly put on pause over Christmas) Yes, good time of year for me to be active. 3) As a mafia player, which Norse god/goddess do you identify with most? Ullr(Ull). God of the Hunt and Archery(depending on the source). Love hunting me down some scummos. To sum up, I would love to join if accepted. -
Phew. Glad I'm not the only person who had this problem. I got one in a lot of sets I bought and noticed all of the purple was either of 2 shades. I thought I had received a mish-mash of a couple sets made into 1 bus. Makes it look really bad, though, since the shades are so obviously different.

Picked up 7094, 7079, 7097, and 8823 a while back at a garage sale, $20. Tattooed trolls were there, sadly, most of the other figures were not. Sets were about 99% complete, only a handful of pieces to complete them. Already have King's Castle Siege, but getting Troll Mountain Fortress was cool.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
LegoDad replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for all the pictures. I have to say these don't interest me a whole lot, but there are some great parts and figures that would be nice to have. I really like the hoodie piece on Wyldstyle, and the cowboy robots can be used for more cowboys as I'm always looking for more of those.- 2,626 replies

Death Star, for sure.

Really like the R2 head, but still going to be an extremely cheap wave for me. Death Star Battle Packs is about the only thing that even interests me this time around.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
LegoDad replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Scarecrow seems to be pretty popular out here in the middle of the cornfields, it's the only figure I can't seem to find. This series is really growing on me, though, great figures and great accessories. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
LegoDad replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just checked my TRU today and still no luck with Series 11. Surprised since they have had them before the official release with earlier series. -
I was happy to pick up a 6277 Imperial Trading Post from Craigslist for $25 this morning. In amazing shape, looks to have been built maybe once with a box/instructions that are still in pretty darn good shape. He also had an Exoforce 7707 and Bionicle 8759, both still sealed, though Bionicle's box had been opened, bags were still sealed. Both for $15 together. 'Twas a good day.

Thanks for the link. I'm very underwhelmed, though they are obviously preliminary. I was also hoping the mini fighters would be a true "midi" scale, and not a figure plopped on top of a mini ship. It's too "Fisher Price"ish.

I did this exact thing when I was a first time scum and PR, all rolled into one. It was very easy for the veterans to pick out my scumminess, and I died fast. I really like the role play we were given for this game. I enjoyed my song writing, too bad the world was cut short of my genius.

Thanks for the list, and looking forward to the new official pictures when they come out. Aside from the battle packs, though, this will be a very cheap wave for me. I don't really worry about Clone Wars sets and the Ep. 3 sets that are coming don't have much interest either. I had my hopes up that the ISD was going to be system scale when the first rumor broke, but unfortunately it looks like Lego is coming back with a type of Midi scale set, which is not interesting at all. Will continue to spend money on other lines it looks like.

Finally, A victory. Even though I didn't survive, so it's a bit bittersweet. DarthPotato, that was my first question on the deadboard. "How the hell was I not protected?" I had a lot of fun being involved in a town block that actually had good information and was so looking forward to taking down scum, especially after we lynched Tammo. Congrats to the team for taking them out, and looking forward to the next game.

MLB suspends A-Rod and 12 others in Biogenesis investigation
LegoDad replied to Leo604's topic in Culture & Multimedia
No surprise at all, the crappy part was that I had Ryan Braun and Everth Cabrera on my fantasy baseball team. -
Oh, don't get me wrong, they seem to be selling very well around me. You can hardly find the Cavalry sets. I have seen Comanche Camp and Colby City 30% off, but that was only in one Target, none of the others had any sales going for LR. I have heard about many Target clearance sales including LR, though. Just seems odd since they've only been out a little while.

Good score, that set was up on Craigslist forever, I wondered when somebody would pull the trigger. With Walmart having their clearances start here, I picked up Unexpected Gathering $49 Forest Police Station $54 (4) Uruk Hai Army $21 Batwing over Gotham $25 Millennium Falcon $99 TIE Fighter $35 Seaside House $35 Cavalry Builder $13(retail, but they are pretty nonexistent around here) more Series 10 army builders
