come on, yoda! slave 1; xwing, ywing, bwing, vwing, tie fleet, MF, atat, atst, atte, ... the list goes on... in the end, all i see is that the number of rereleases, redesigns compared to the total number of new sets every year is quite high. Basically, they're just looking at profits here. Sure, it's nice to see a taun taun set. as if that is going to have a major sale, if it's, for instance, 30 euro...

What ever happened to Dino Attack?

1) it's very quiet about the line these days. so they're either keeping the second wave very secret or there is no second wave. That wouldn't surprise me, though. I don't think it sold very well here, except for the smallest sets 2) i do hope we're done with the dino line. it was highly pushed by lego, with even a different line in the US, but i never saw this one as a potential legendary theme. in fact, i think it'll only reach the footnotes in the history of lego just for that... 3) we still have the sets here. hope they disappear soon -
Take a look at this: i like this thing for two reasons: the shape is quite unusual and not so easy if you want a good result... the greebs are very good. Usually everybody just adds greebs where he can leave them, and very often, that works, cos nobody knows what this or that particular pieces does exactly, so it's not really important where what is... But this guy more or less integrated his greebs into the structure of his ship look at the side of the ship! that's pretty good! i'm not really a fan of the interior, though, for one, i'm getting tired of SNOT techniques. it's ok for the outside, but i don't like it inside a ship second, i can't find head or tail inside the ship. where exactly is the command post located, for instance? i also don't think the gallery shows the entire inside. Maybe the rest of the ship is filled with bricks...

yeah... i'm mostly waiting for more parts, tho... i tried to build a moc yesterday and i just didn't find the right colours/parts... however, i'm afraid that that doesn't really have anything to do with software but with production and finances... oh well... patience...

yep, many analysts say Henry fooled the ref into having been hit in the face, leading to the free kick for 1-1... the same thing happened with Ivanov earlier on in Portugal-Holland. the thing is, these players are so experienced that they can even manipulate referees into giving yellow and red cards... The Germans are also extremely irritating in that regard. they constantly go to the ref asking for a card for any opponent whenever a teambember is down... that's why we really should have tv assisting the refs in the future, so we can at least put a stop to that...

Magnetron? Sorry man i think magnetron doesn't exist in Lego space...can you explain what is magnetron? ah, thanks to all to your replies, is nice to see people posting about the space theme we'll soon have our own corner, just need to sort out a few things...
-
ah... so it's probably like the Flyin' Dutchman, the famous ghost ship:
-
yeah... i also tried to build those space ships from the people of Vinea. I'm still hoping to build several of them when lego produces the parts to do it...
-
that's a very cool ship! 8-

Yoda is correct. Han and Leia will be the Hoth versions and look will be in his orange flight suit. "and Look will be in his orange flight suit." we're going phonetic now? :-P so, basically, this is an "imperial shuttle kinda set", so we'll have a slightly, or not even at all, modified xwing + a buch of minifigs... I think Lego assumed that we'd all want more leias, hans, and orange pilot suits... based on prices of BL, that's a correct assumption.

funny..; the title of the image on the belgian site is "Classic castle".. maybe they're doing this set as a favour to all these classic castle fans?
-
you're right, it's a mistake...

well actually, we had 5 analysts here and they all predicted Spain would win... still, if you think about it, the french are highly experienced in these situation, Spain on the other hand, never comes very far in these international contests... I think that france has finally found a way how to play, and two people are in fact responsable for that: Zizou and Vierra. I'm not sure if you guys noticed this, but just before the game started, Makal

Lots of new sets available on S@H
snefroe replied to Christian's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
thanks for the info... these two viking sets are quite expensive though, 25 and 40 euro... i just did a quick run up of the top 25 in the SAH countries, and what strikes me is that batman sets didn't do very well, contrary to sw... -
i don't think it sucked because of a civilian space theme, but simply because the sets were not good at all. Look at the number of space freighters these days...
-
i don't think so: 1) rock raiders,... didn't do that very well either 2) i think they just wanted to have a new start in 1999 when sw appeared in the catalogues... everything else just had to go... since then, they've seen that several old themes actually were popular, so maybe they'll bring a few of them back in a few years, but not quite the same sets 3) they have pirates in duplo so they're anti pirates ...
-
i hope to have some more discussions on these themes soon, but why not start right now, eh? ;-) i'd say in terms of minifigs, i lik the futuron the most. i never tried to replace the heads with newer ones, but the torso looks great, and i've got some nice memories of these figs :-$ Blacktron 1 was great also... i think it mostly went wrong with insectoid , unitron, roboforce, ufo and spyrius. they were all pretty bad. as if lego didn't want to leave one mm
-
yeah, but it's not so difficult to get these pretty cheap, just buy the parts at BL. the only really expensive parts are the printed ones... the rest are basic bricks. what makes the set interesting and valuable are the instructions and the box
-
well it seems they've been severely briefed about several typical negative elements in a game , like stalling, hitting people in the face,... so now many refs are pretty shaky... they're nervous about making mistakes and having to leave the cup because of it... Ivanov, if that was the ref's name , is a typical case: he started to give cards very early in the game for practically nothing and then just couldn't go back to just giving warnings. whenever he saw something pretty bad, or thought he'd seen something pretty bad, he just couldn't give a simple warning anymore, but had to give some colour of a card... it's a cascade, really...
-
yep it's quite nice! if he has all the boxes as well, then we're looking at several 100's of euros...
-
nononono! are you insane?! you don't open the box! you just gently take it in your hands, threaten everybody who comes near it, stare at it for a while, listen to the parts falling from side of the box to the other and put it back into the vault... untill tomorrow... then you open the vault again... you just gently take it in your hands... oh well... you get the story by now, don't ya? :-$

Hehe I'm not interested in the entire collection, just parts of it which uses a lot less space :-P And yes, she's willing to let me use her address. I've done it in the past, and not just once :-P As for the shipping: Delsey and Samsonite are companies that can help with "family sized containers". And since Mrs Hobbes and I visit at least once a year, my parents-in-law visit at least once a year (this year twice), and sister-in-law visits us at least once a year, that's 3 to 4 trips a year which make logistics a peace of cake :-P So, there :-P ;-) still, chances are that every one will bid on these sets once they're seperated, prices will go up... so we'll just see how this story develops... and maybe... just maybe ... i'll go and a find me a good American friend I can take advantage of... :-P

well, i kinda like the brown elements though... It gives a typically boring installation a more colourful look without turning it into a 'Picasso'...
