  1. excellent review! 8-
  2. g... this is really big, bigger than you'd expect ... 8-
  3. you didn't have any stability problems with the train on those rails? i mean, it's not as if the rails are strongly supported in order to carry the monorail... my worst nightmare, i guess, would be a train falling down from the highest rail because the latter wasn't supported enough to carry the weight... :-X do you have more and detailed pictures of this moc, btw?
  4. what i like about this: 1) nice cockpit 2) great design 3) finally something different Not too fond of the 'smugglers' aspect though. He should have limit the moc to just a garbage truck, perhaps with a small vacuume cleaner attached to it rest of his gallery
  5. i don't think you're supposed to swoosh this thing around... :-P
  6. well it's not really a classic space fig... it's a white astronaut, sure, but he has a modern white helmet. white classics were already gone when this helmet was introduced...
  7. not even to mention that you never, ever dismantle your Message Intercept Base for whatever moc :-P the best base ever!! hang on... do i feel another poll's coming up? :-P
  8. welcome! i see in your bs gallery that you're a space ship builder! that's great!! *sweet*
  9. the freezer is, btw, very regularly on sale at ebay. if it's not a priority purchase, i'd say keep an eye on the ebay offers for a few months and you'll most likely find one...
  10. happy birhday! *sweet* i hope you get lots and lots of classic space ships today... :-P
  11. sorry to revive this, but did you guys read this? http://www.br-eng.info/words/?page_id=29 it seems Lego blocked his address... hm... I wonder if this has anything to do with the Christmas train instruction some one on EB found there. they were really not happy with that...
  12. how's the stability of the thing yoda?
  13. great find! yep, it's pretty cool! i never used classic bricks like this, but the moc clearly shows you can take an entirely different approach to space ship building!!
  14. are you guys thinking of setting up a 'modules' project that we once wanted to do for the Billund event? if so, now would be the best moment to work something out so every one has enough time to think, buy and build...
  15. isn't it time we close this discussion? it's quite clear that whatever the arguments or frustrations, there will not be a seperate SW forum here on EB. i also think that every one has had the chance to speak his mind, why don't we just leave it at that?
  16. it reminds me of my younger days also. it seems to me that the builder is still in the early stages of his building carreer, so the best thing i can say is to keep on building and enjoy! :-P
  17. as far as I can remember, it's really expensive... the bags have become very small and i once calculated that you needed to get 300 1x4 plates to make it worth your while compared to bl, so classics bricks would be rather expensive ... actually it's not meant for us, Lego specialists, but for the general public who has no clue about bl...
  18. well actually, we have many small train stations with only 2 tracks, through out Europe. Most of our railroad systems are organised to not only travel from one big city to another, very often, there are small stations in between, or the line itself is linked with smaller lines, bringing passengers from villages/small towns/industrial parks/... to the larger lines. Sometimes these stations don't even have people working there. In that way, i think all these stations, except for the last one, resemble a typical small station quite well. Sure, a train station of a big city is a different story, but Lego could never turn that into an actual set.
  19. thanks for linking us up! "oh come on!! you gotta be kidding me!!" was, i think, the sentence most often used... :-P this is the illegal element they're referring to with the Constellation example: however, i can think of several other examples in old sets, so i'm guessing these rules are from the mid 80's or so...
  20. well, they're on the right track, that's for sure, I wouldn't say they're quite there just yet: 1) the small sets may look nice but don't sell at all, in spite of what Lego may claim. we've got a shop here called 'Bart Smit', it's a really huuge chain and they've got this box in which they just dump all small sets because they don't sell. you can buy an item for not even 5 euro. people don't seem to want them. i've even heard some one saying they're thinking of destroying the sets, because that box has become waaaay too small... Lego should stop producing these -5 euro sets in large quantities and produce more large sets. 2) they should seriously reconsider the way they're selling sets to shops. no wonder they're making lots of money these days, they just tell shops they have to order the non-profitable sets together with the sw sets, so it's not lego that in the end sits on an over stock, it's the shops... 3) their logisticks/distribution still is a mess, very often, shops have to 'reorder' the stuff they already ordered several times. a worse case scenario is hearing a year later that the sets are out of production... i wonder if these 'reorders' are actually part in their sales statistics. 4) too many short-lived themes. they should have some patience and build a decent fan base with their best themes. Vikings could have been one. they should also keep 'city' sets in a normal scale... 5) quality has gone down, we've said that a million times
  21. welcome! we not only try to give new info asap, we also try to post reviews as soon as we get the sets, in case you'd ever doubt about getting a specific set...
  22. there's a TRU at Torcy as well, about 30-40 minutes by RER if I'm not mistaken. it's in a new shopping mall, 5 minutes away from the train station, just in case that would be closer to where you're staying...
  23. heard it as well, even though it's not particularly world news. People get injured on the road on a daily basis...
  24. Ah well, nobody's perfect... :-P Welcome to EB, the friendliest LEGO place on earth ;-) welcome! *sweet* just ignore our city mayor here, we were kinda hoping that once he was turned into city mod, he'd be staying there ALL the time, so he wouldn't bother the other sections of this board, unfortunately, he still feels the need to annoy us every where else as well... :-P that's the one negative element on EB , i'm afraid... :-P
