  1. well i guess my main reason for suggesting this is because the list is already getting long and barely a few people have seen the topic. IMO, it's no good if we get a list of 200 stores or so, in that case, you can just as well copy the feedback system of bl... i would prefer a shortlist of five bl shops you find the best, no more... in that case, i think, you'd only get the highly recommended ones. i think we should also mention that it's not a topic for serious discussions about opinions concerning shops. i mean, i don't think we'd wanna go to a situation where a shop owner defends his policies to a complaining member. i think it's best if it follows the idea/spirit of the sharpshooters list: just a nomination of a shop, a bit of info and that's it.
  2. wouldn't one category a bit easier? just a fairly limited list of the best shops on bl, instead of two categories that are difficult to distinguish anyway? i'd like to add the "German Brick Circus" in ... Germany... *sweet* for being fast and good service in general
  3. yeah... thought something like that, but just wasn't sure... didn't know this was limited edition in the US though...
  4. well due to copyright reasons i cannot just put it on the internet |-/ , but the set is exactly the same as the usual one, it just looks like the US version + the text 'limited edition". maybe they got it from an American catalog or from a supply that was supposed to go to the Us, but that only solves the US element, not the limited edition thing
  5. finally got my hands on a boxed Western Legoredo fort, for only 35 euro. I did ask why it was prized so cheap, she didn't know. i built the set, there was nothing wrong with it... I guess i was just lucky... *sweet*
  6. hey people, i was browsing in a toy catalog from a Belgian toy shop called 't Bazarke" and in there's city's petrol station with a 'limited edition' drawing. It also has a warning sign (probably the normal choking hazzard) but i can't read it. I just don't know what this is about. The station wasn't a limited edition, was it? *wacko* it also looks like an American box, because it shows the piece count, which is unusual for European boxes. Anybody any clue to what this is all about?
  7. nonononono master *yoda* , you haven't been reading the entire topic in detail, have you? |-/ :-P this postal thing is a small plane, the planes that are part of history are medium sized planes, like the one in the first post's link. these small planes are quite nice though... :-$
  8. i bought several things from Slim and i'd have to say he is exceptional. I usually get my parts within three days after payement (me living in Belgium) , that is pretty fast considering other shop experiences . *sweet* I'd recommend him, really. i think this is a great topic, thought of doing something like this in the past as well, but always backed down, because it's very tricky. i mean, it's not our intention to use EB as an advertising source, right? so how do we prevent people from using EB like this in this topic by posting, for instance, with an alias, advertising for his/her own shop on BL? I also think you need to add extra info. Where's the shop located? In Europe, US,...? That's a big thing for me, considering import taxes, ... How fast are they really? if i order now, when will i have the parts, if i pay the same day as i have the invoice? For me, THAT's important, not the notion 'they are fast'. I'd like to hear what jp thinks of the topic though. It's not spinning out of control, and that's great, but I do think we should get his ok for it, since he is ultimately responsable for the site. and maybe we should then pin it, if that's not the case just yet.

it's a fair question, np *sweet* but considering the lack of replies i'm afraid we don't have that many people here... |-/ X-O
  10. it seems to me that lego builds larger planes because they're more attractive to children. Don't think adults like the big sized models as such, but in this case, their interior is quite nice, so i don't think there is a very big resistance against the 2007 planes. I also think that the "big aeroport-era" is over. Last aeroport was basically just a building like any other. there was, for instance, no tarmac. afeature we'd seen on all previous aeroports...
  11. hm... this minifig has binoculars in his hands whilst standing in the nest. |-/ i think the whole point of the titanic sinking was because this guy did NOT have binoculars, so he couldn't see the iceberg in time... X-D apart from that, very impressive! 8-
  12. usually, when i get a package from the USA, it takes about 14 days by airmail, i guess it may be the other way around as well... btw, you may have to pay import tax....
  13. i think you can forget these. Lego has those large parts now to build larger planes and i guess they're easier for children than the older medium sized planes. besides, everything Lego is big these days. even cargo loads...
  14. 8-
  15. well i'd like to get my plane tickets asap (they're now only 96 euro which is insanely cheap 8-
  16. well in that case, the answer is easy. if you want to limit your lego collection but keep on collecting, then sell your overstock and use the money to buy the pirate sets you don't have just yet. if you're not really interested in getting ALL pirate sets, then sell your overstock and buy some castle or whatever it is that you want to buy. just some friendly advice from a fellow historian :-D
  17. oh well... there was a time when everything was red: red cars, red creatures, ... so it's yellow now... I don't mind...
  18. i'm a bit puzzled by the cargo doors of the green plane. I don't see how they can rotate the way they do on the pics without haveng a gap in the roof, allowing the door the extra space it needs to rotate... same with the police plane, but i don't see any gap there...
  19. any one else thinks this was a marketing trick from Lego? i mean, they just kept it online for a limited period to get a decent load of opinions, good and bad, to boost the excitement about the 2008 catalog, without really risking anything in the process... |-/
  20. hm... the indy sets are by far the best :-$ the city sets.... hm.... the green cargo plane looks great! i'll just change the wings. the other Post-Cargo sets... not sure ... i think the best thing is that we do have Post-Cargo sets in 2008, the models could have been better. The police sets don't look interesting to me. the creator sets are a bit disappointing to me. the yellow house is still quite nice, but none of the sets i find really 'must have sets' I like the impulse sets! :-$ hope to buy lots of them! :-$ the sw sets don't really look exciting. they may be great for the sw freaks on eb, but i don't think the general lego fan is all that excited about those. the exo force sets... hm... i'll have to take a closer look first. don't see all that much right now. still, i'm already surprised to see exo force sets for 2008. Thought its life was running out. the duplo sets... i'm kinda interested in the transparent tower of that fire station. :-) the technic sets don't look all that great... the castle sets.... hm.... just don't know what to think of them. Maybe it's because i'm the space guy not the castle guy... don't really care about the rest...
  21. i was thinking about that as well. i guess it's an entrance to the police parking lot or something. in any case, it reminded me of the city sets at the end of the 90's, more or less a jack stone kinda thing... Hope lego reps read this topic and decide not to push these two sets into the catalogue.
  22. besides, why would you wanna have a police truck this size in your town? :-|
  23. oh my god these sets are crap :-X please please please make them go away.
