  1. *wub* love this! this moc shows you that even something quite boring as a landscape can be turned into something really special rest of gallery
  2. well honestly, i only had one motorcycle of fabuland as a child but my niece had lots of this stuff and it just was great! the figs were really, it was all so innocent and simple but at the same time allowed a child so much room for fantasy and imagination. Sure the bricks were big, but that allowed to build larger houses with 2 or more floors which was quite impossible with the small normal bricks, because it would take too much time. That being said, even though fabuland is very popular on the second hand market, it think it's now more for collectors than for kids. Many afols would by it today out of nostalgia, but i think the kids today would find it stupid and boring.
  3. yes i believe they were and i think the producer of the engine no longer exists.... but most of all, i think the monorail was highly expensive for the day... 7000 BEF or about 150-160 DM in the mid 80s :-X think that was most of all the problem.
  4. To give you guys a bit more background, Brickminer was a staffmember on Eurobricks untill not so long ago. He's no longer an active member here, so i'm afraid it's useless to ask questions about his work, but if you do a search on EB you'll most likely find the topics for these western sets. Feel free to tell lego you want them to produce these though.
  5. what was the timeline for these projects? when did you guys start with the project and how long did it take to get a final product?
  6. yes, i know the feeling! It's like seeing a guy sell his (space) collection on the internet and wanting to buy all that stuff and not having the money to do so X-O no , i do not cope! :-X
  7. i think all space fans agree with you here. my guess is we'll get a big space ship later on, as the first drawing sorta suggests.
  8. lol so you finally decided to build something for that playmobil thing you got at the first event? X-D
  9. well somehow we ended op in the steak house every night, yeah.... come to think of it, the food of the other restaurants was... not so good... and the steak house is really expensive. have we ever tried the dinner at the village? we can always try, i guess... i do hope it's cheaper than steak house...
  10. can't wait to get these in my hands!! the skull looks really cool, wonder if it comes with a trans clear display foot... and there's bound to be some interior, right? the base looks nice but fairly basic. in any case a great parts pack, and i love that little fighter :-$ i'm missing some sort of platform at the base for that plane, though
  11. only 3? Are you Sure you didn't just use the rest in one of your mocs, my old pointy eared master? by accident? X-D
  12. well i think it's a beauty and it's not that expensive because the theme never turned into a classic
  13. on behalf of the space fans here, thanks! :-$ X-D
  14. well if you read EB's reviews of sets you'll find that we've got quite a few people here with some well founded insights, remarks and, if you will, critiques, good AND bad, even master Yoda. Right now he's just pissed because for once it's space that's making the headlines, not star wars X-D don't take it too personal.
  15. insectoids is seriously underrated imo. the figs are crap (i just don't like the heavy drawing on figs and the heads were not brilliant either) but the sets, especially the largest is worth the money. another theme that's really underrated is the explorers theme. Love the colors, love the figs and that large ship is sweeeeeet and really really really big! Spyrrius is also underrated, especially the large robot if you're just going for that one set... hm...: 6927 for some reason, not really popular and most defenitely in the shadows of the spaceships of those days. but it's a nice one, in nice colors, but obviously, fairly simple. 6949 this is a must have, if you're asking me. nobody cares for spyrrius, but this one is actually pretty cool. it's not as if there are many hidden features in it, but building this was a nice adventure
  16. well the question is, is the space set closer to the market street, including the quality and the details, or will it be closer to the multiset we had with the train, meaning lots of basic parts but not al that many expensive space parts and fairly basic models...
  17. well, if you must know, i was hoping that i could use bionicle parts for space ships. bionicle parts very often have cool details, like hydraulic pumps or something looking like metal constructions you can use on the outside of space ships. they are in other words, interesting as greeblie foundations. Masks i can use as protective shieldings of space machinery.... the only problem with bionicle parts is the ball at both ends of a part. and the colors are really cool too, even though they don't always mix very well with the normal space colors. don't remember what parts exactly i saw , but these i do remember: 1 2 3 4 5 6 and yes, i know master Yoda since the first event, we've even slept together.... in one and the same room! X-D But usually i keep Yoda in a plastic box with the ballpoint pen stuck at his feet, and with the other sw sets i keep for the collection! :-P ofcourse, i should have asked Ras but he was already sharing a bag with Mike X-O X-D
  18. well i think the word rank fits just fine. the more posts, the higher the rank and the more abilities on this site. That way, you grow on this site and we get more time to get you integrated into the community...
  19. well this is great news! i just hope it's closer to the space afol community than mars mission, which is basically just a theme for children. the stuff giddens produces is of a completely different scale... we'll see what comes of it but it's great to finally have the "space"-banner appear in Lego's universe again in its 50th year of existence...
  20. btw, did you update your list recently? what's left of the collection?
  21. will the coast guard theme be available in France, Yoda? in the regular shops, i mean? there's something fishy going with this themewe won't be getting the entire line of that either
  22. absolutely! especially with these sets that are only available for the next 7 months or so... and the country differences... well... they make no sense... Belgium will only get 2 out of 4 Indy sets, Germany won't seem to get the new castle sets... except for financial arguments i don't see any logic behind it....
