many thanks, Master Yoda... i'm getting this one in a few weeks... i'll try to get the falcon first... no wait... first i'll ask my wallet... what's your feeling on the length of the nose? I think it's a bit short compared to the span of the ARC; perhaps 1 or 2 studs extra? might i suggest a modification on the nose? Perhaps you could replace the white plate 2x3 by a 1 x 2 plate; shorten the plate (2x 8?) above it with one stud (1 wihte plate 2x3 + 1 white plate 2x4). You would now have a 2x3 space just above the dark red nose plate, right? i would place two slopes of this type: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/50950 + a white plate 1 x 2 the line of the nose should be looking very smooth now... i'll have to wait a while before i can actually fix this though...

you're right. i just lost an arm (http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/30377) yesterday, because of that...
-
by the way, i'm really, really, really, really looking forward to seeing the vault... if there's ever a nuclear war, i'd be willing to give up my place in the bunker in favor of all these sets :P :P those have got to be saved for the next generations of mankind... :P a remark about the first series of photos (the shop): when i was there, the boxes didn't have all these parts. some did have mixed parts that were not really useful... i hope we'll get the ones on the photo...
-
that's a different story, but... suppose... suppose they'd show us, off the record, the official viking line or crawler... they will most likely ask not to take any picture. However... if they don't, then we'll shoot an entire Hollywood film :P
-
i don't think we'll be allowed to take pictures of "sneak peaks" during the tour, Jon...
-
don't wait too long with the Falcon... it still is in the shops but I have a feeling that 2005 will be its last year, especially with all these new sets... if it even reaches december 2005... a shop keeper told me they're not going to make room for it anymore and several shops don't even have it anymore... I myself am also thinking of buying this set... it's a lot of money...

I have a couple in blay from the KK2 castle, but the rest are black or gray. It's a great piece, they should really be in heavier supply. so you both don't have the second slave I (7153)? there are yellow and white in that model...
-
no no no no no... it doesn't work like that... if you wanna have a sneak peak of... whatever... you're going to have to come with us :P :P
-
i've got this feeling that Master Yoda will post so many pictures on this forum that the Eurobricks gallery will become even larger than the brickshelf gallery. :P :P you'll be begging to please stop posting billund pictures, you'll see :P i think we'll be home sooner than the cards... we might get on line in Billund, perhaps? i don't know if that's possible...
-
i guess it depends on what you mean with quality...
-
perhaps, just to be clear about this, we should make a list of all LAP-candidates. that can't be difficult!:P :P
-
could you please explain the difference? :P
-
I see, but people could thing its an insult :-D :P yeah... i know... i already excluded a second "f" for "fat", even though it's a knickname... fondly given by pilots to the b-52 i think...

this is from the military: BUF: Big Ugly Fella :P :P

i don't think that is the case. it seems as if TLC says to us, adults: "feel free to buy whatever you want, we'll build more sophisticated and complex models, but don't expect models only for you" bpp's? you need a real word ... 900 years of wisdom, Master Yoda, and this is the best you come up with? :P
-
that's true. I don't know why TLC is so much against the notion of lego for adults. the company has repeatedly said that lego is a toy for children. TLC could set up a line of products specifically meant for us, adults, but for some reason, she's not. and it's not only Hasbro that tries to satisfy both consumer groups, many companies in the world of model kits produce goods for different ages. I also can't find any other official explanation than "we're just producing toys..." that makes it all a bit frustrating for me, because I'm stuck with this question and i don't find a decent answer...
-
for themselves obviously... 8/10 boys buy by lego, means children and adults buying lego for boys (kids) 1 out of X Adults, means 1 afol buying lego for him/herself i know it doesn't sound very positive for us, afols, but it surely explains why we're not really priority number 1 for TLC
-
if you're talking in terms of plastic... TLC has been awarded for having the best plastic product in the world. number 2 was, i believe, tupperware in fact, the article said that the durability of the plastic has become a negative factor in the sales. after all, these bricks won't have to be replaced... to my knoledge, the company is outsourcing to Tchechia...
-
But there are MORE children into LEGO. Unfortunately. the fact that lego is a toy for kids shouldn't prevent the company from doing something for us as well... let's not forget this: there's far more potential in the adult's segment than in the kid's section. let's put this relationship adults-kids like this: 8/10 boys buy lego how many adults out of ten buy lego, you think? 1 out of 100? 1000? 10000?
-
we've talked about this before as well, remember Master Yoda? about 480 threads will be needed, so that leaves about 1000 pieces for the rest. that's about the size of the Turbo tank...
-
perhaps he was just sitting in the center of a dance floor :P what i really hated when i was a teenager was "interpreting signals coming from the other side" and "sending signals to the other side" as well... thank god I've passed all that...
-
Would they really reveal it there? i don't think so, but , off the record, we might get to see something? this is just wishfull thinking from our part... ;)

2004/2005 Hunting Star Wars Sets and availability

we're voting for the greatest Belgian these couple weeks and the old discussion about french fries came up... again... we'll never know who the real genius was... but... 1) it seems "french" in french fries comes from the english "to french" refering to the shape of french fries... 2) i like them too :P 3) Danish beer isn't that bad. However, dutch beer is the worst. don't like Heiniken... so, Bloody Jay, where in Belgium did your mom live? -
between you and me... i'm hoping for a sneak peak in Billund :P :P
