EuroBricks - The Event - Are you comming?
snefroe replied to DoubleT's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
i'll take a plane... i did try and find something by train, but that's a LOT more expensive and it would take many hours more... the same thing with driving to D -
i don't think you should worry about the payment, tho. i'll also won't be able to send it before the 1st. double t only asked me to pay 25 euro instead...
-
you've got a point, however, i don't feel that TLC has done enough to integrate both into one theme... but it would be a very good idea to do so. for instance, TLC could create a set with a warehouse and train rails attached to it, and on the other side of the warehouse, there could be a road and a truck waiting for the goods. you'd basically have a city side and a train side in one set.

perhaps you're just a lousy builder :P :P darth ewok, how 'bout your general feeling about this tank? how's the steering of this thing? does it ride smoothly or do you really have to push this thing forward? are there special things on it that you can't see from the outside?
-
i'll be there too. Master Yoda was too strong for me. :P one problem, though: Apo said that he was going to get drunk on that occasion... I guess I'll have to find a way to erase that moment from my memory afterwards. It's either that or risk permanent brain damage :P

i wasn't talking about this type of report, though. this is just a general report with some very interesting, but general, numbers. i would like to see the real balance sheets... yes, even France companies have to send those every year to the gov. After all, companies have to pay taxes,... let's not go into this further... perhaps when we're in Legoland... this report is also interesting though, we've got an answer to at least one question: Europe is by far the largest market of TLC. talking about clickits. TLC has been suit for this theme by two American women. not sure if we can expect more of it... other messages, like sports has been doing great, puzzles me, 'cause i've been told otherwise... i'll take the rest of the night to read this report, we may get a lot of usefull info out of it...
-
Master Yoda, do you have the clone turbo tank as well? is there a detailed cockpit in it?
-
in Belgium, that would be at the end of June, i think... and it would probably take another 6 months for the gov. to approve this, i guess... it's highly unlikely, tho, that TLC will disclose the entire report. she will probably review the report for public use...

it took me a full day to build the ship, and it took me a full day to dismantle it :P i did sort every part immediately... to go back on topic: the reason why we're going off topic with this, is that nobody knows right now if, where and when the second eurobrick event will be held. That will most likely be more than a year from now anyway... Plenty of time to talk about that in the future... Let's have a little bit of respect towards the people who are organising this first event before talking about and thinking of a second eurobrick event... >-| here, you've got your answer: we hope there will be more to come, there is no plan for a second yet...

Has The Lego Company gone a bit stupid?
snefroe replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
and oh yes... it seems "Dreamland" has a pick a brick, for the moment. it's not a real pick a brick, it's a huge box with hundreds of different pieces (torsos, plates, technic bricks, HP stuff,...) in it and you have to select the pieces you want. these pieces are very often left overs... so if you're living next to Dreamland, better check it out asap, 'cause most interesting pieces will be gone in a matter of just a few days... -
Has The Lego Company gone a bit stupid?

here's another funny story i found on belug.be a couple of guys bought all sorts of goods from internet shops with fake credit card numbers. DVD's, hifi, clothes, whatever you can think off, including Lego from Lego.com. they bought bricks and sets for a total amount of 25000 euro!! in fact, they were caught thanks to TLC. the company thought that it was a little bit weird to get orders for the same shipping address, but at the same time, all these orders were paid with different credit cards, as if one person had more than a dozen credit cards. And of caurse, they never saw any payement. So they told the police in Belgium and the guys were arrested. Wow!! Lego for 25000 euro :P http://www.nieuwsblad.be/Article/Detail.as...icleID=G00DJK29 -
then i'll just buy a second one :P

talking about the ISD... i just dismantled mine... yeah... i got a phone call from Lord Vader. He told me that was dead and therefore wouldn't be needing his ISD anymore... so i took it apart... however, i do think that he wasn't very happy with that, cause when i was getting it off the table, one of the plates scratched my hands. i'm bleeding to death now... :P :P

well... there are other lego theme parks in the rest of the world as well, so it's possible... but all in due time...

Official site now up for Lego Star Wars video-game
snefroe replied to Precious Jazz's topic in Culture & Multimedia
i was also hoping for real free missions, missions where you can just blast lots and lots of droids, missions that are not directly linked to the star wars movies -
thought i'd use this thread to let you know that according to people at Belug.be, TRU in France is going to set up a pick a brick, confirmed by a local employee, and his headquarters. there's no official date yet, but the decision to set one up has been taken... right now they're mentioning the TRU at Englos, that should be close to Calais...

something weird hapened just a few minutes ago, when i was playing the demo. anakin and c3po are on their way to the brown transport ship, and suddely c3po changes, first into a rebel scout or something and quickly afterwards into Jar Jar binks, so i can't get out now... I'm stuck ... i can't go back... i can't seem to reach a higher level, even though i can clearly see a door... help... :() -
Probably because (as has been said before) the AFOL/TFOL share of the market is not that significant to warrant special treatment (and isn't helped by idiots that rave on about how they hope Lego suffers a financial loss this year) when we're in legoland, we might be able to find some one who can tell us how big the AFOL-market share is. then we'll know... perhaps we'll also get some insight on sales/audience... but, as other people have been saying, we've all discussed this a thousand times already... let's hope we get the star wars sets soon, so we can finally divert our attention to new topics, instead of running around in circles...

i would suggest to wait with all sorts of announcements (t-shirts, arrival dates, cell phone numbers,...) untill the 1st of April. by that time we should have an overview of who's going to participate. then we'll be able to distribute what needs to be distributed... A brand new and seperate thread for just the participants would be good as well, or perhaps you should close all the existing threads by then? 'cause, all these different topics and threads are making it kind of confusing...

Ferrari Truck now available at Shop@Home Europe
snefroe replied to medib's topic in General LEGO Discussion
that truck has been available in Belgium for ages. just saw this one in a retail shop yesterday... was that not the case anywhere else? we also have the police motorcycle: 3.49euro. not much. there's also a major price battle going on for the fire truck. officially, it's about 20 euro, but i've seen it at 16.99 last week. i bought it a month ago for 14 euro, now it's only 12.99! the only problem is that it's hard, and i mean, very hard, to find! Sorry if this off topic, btw -
to be honest, guys, i lost you all after the first page of posts :P as an historian, i'd like to add just a few lines here: 1) comparing vikings with pirates is historically nonsense 2) people in the lowlands never used the word "Viking", but the word "Noorman", which means "men from the North". 3) vikings were feared because of their courage in battle, fast ships, but many vikings settled down in the lowlands and France and became one of the founding elements of the international trade in those days. many always seem to limit the viking culture to a gang of barbarians who murdered and pillaged. that's just like saying that all Americans are brainless cowboys who only care about their own money... Unfortunately, even TLC did not make the effort to give a more balanced view of what is part of her own history. 4) Pirates are in no way representatives of any culture, they're just an element in some historical events. would you compare vikings with modern pirates as well?

Has The Lego Company gone a bit stupid?
snefroe replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
i've just tried to find the barracuda legend on s&h Belgium and it's no longer available. it's no longer available at s&h US either, so it seems. so these prices aren't that surprising. you should see the prices for the first Star wars Falcon! that's just the way it is... >-| -
Master Yoda, you are too powerful for me, however, i'm not entirely on your side, and make no mistake, it's the dark side :P , yet... let's wait and see what double t says...
