Exactly :-D *twisted* No comments on yours snefroe1??? Ouf got past this one :-D :P i am pleased... however, the pharaoh was not... "what does Yoda mean with "Philosofical Pharaoh?" that suggest there also is "pharaoh the brave", "pharaoh the great I, II, III,...", "Pharaoh the wise", "Pharaoh the warrior",... there is but only one pharaoh! it think this smurf is planning a revolution... against me... and he will take the throne as "the green pharaoh"... that's it! I'll alert my guards to arrest this... creature... and i'll feed him to the crododiles!! by the way, Master Yoda, did anything bad happen to you today, like: did you die? did you loose all your lego? did you loose your airline ticket to Billund? did you notice this morning that you've run out of coffee and French bread? -

the question is, how are we going to control Master Yoda... before you know it, he'll start to add new photos as well... or... second titles... :P "Furry Yub Yub", Darth Ewok? is that a title you'd like to identify yourself with... let's say to a girlfriend... family... anyway, it seems Master Yoda is having a great time with this... Makes you wonder when he actually gets any work done, tho... Poor CEO... :P -
i think they will modify them, but probably next year, because TLC will be needing hot sets to turn the star wars sales into a success after the movie hype is over... a modified A-wing and b-wing might just be these hot sets ... TLC has already indicated that she will continue to remodify old sets. I can't think of many sets that size to modify. the Falcon has already been modified, we've also seen a Imperial inspection, snowspeeder, slave I, tie-fighter... there really isn't much left... (AT-ST would be nice as well, but I think it might be larger and more expensive than the original one) The question is, how far is TLC willing to go with these sets? are we talking about an entire remake, or just a rerelease? My guess is that it's just going to be an "imperial inspection" kind of remake... There's also a rumour about a rerelease of the AT AT in 2006 or 2007... we also don't know what TLC is planing for the EpIII sets in 2006. I never bought the sith infiltrator... it just looked like crap... it seems that it was...

i think you're both refering to the scouter bikes in set 7128 (speeder bikes) of 1999 and set 7139 (ewok attack) of 2002, right? i think what makes the original set (7128) so great is that you've got two bikes and two troopers, for only 10 dollars. that's a brilliant army building set if you're interested in setting up a large scale fight with scout troopers, At-st's... After all, there aren't many sets with more than two troopers of the same rank, especially scout troopers. the second set is a brilliant addition to that, because this time the main focus is on the other side, the ewoks. Put these two sets together, buy a couple of each and you've got quite a potential diorama. in other words, they complete each other. smart thinking, TLC :P the models of the bikes... hm... i prefer the 2002 version, because of the lines of the model, but as vader316 said, there's hardly any room for another improvement. the thing is that it wouldn't cost you much to change either one of them into the other... that's the difference with the Falcon

I'm supposed to be there at 10.22 with BA flight number BA8222. Shall i wait for you, master Yoda? double t said the village is only 1.5 km away, so we can probably walk to the village and meanwhile get to know each other...

don't forget, the first Falcon was produced at the very beginning of the lego star wars story. Many parts weren't even specifically produced for the star wars line, like these four roof parts... Most parts belonged to old lego themes... sure, it looks a bit weird... especially after five years of lego star wars... in my view, the second one looks a lot better, even though it still has unsolved problems, like the cockpit. but at that time, TLC already had an entire line of new parts with lots of new possibilities... they both have their merit, they're both extremely important to TLC and Lego star wars, they just belong to two different time frames; as such, it's become impossible to have a fair comparison... it's like comparing a ford model of the 60's with the latest model...

You called me, Master Yoda? according to the photos, it's up to u what you do with the engraved parts. you can decorate them even further if you want (perhaps you can buy parts in the Billund brick shop for this), but i don't think this guy is going to do that. sure, a tile would be nice, however, you also have to hang it around you neck or so... so you probably need two of these: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2432 -
thanks Bloody Jay. I'm still in trouble with the landing lights, though... i thought of using a bracket like this one (http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/554) and a round plate 1 x 1 but that blocks the folding mechanism of the gear... i'll also add a survival/first aid kit behind the pilot but i don't know how to do that right now... TLC should also design a jump suit, cause my poor pilot is flying without a parachute!

i only try to live up to your expectations, Master... but in the end i'm just a humble working man, compared to your 900 years of experience... one problem, though: the hinges. if i use the old model, the canopy doesn't really close the way I want it to. it goes up a bit (1-2 mm). it's annoying... if i use the new model, there's too much pressure on the structure.
-
normally i try to limit modifications, especially with this one, cause, in all, the original model is great 1) changed the legs, they were too "brickish" for me 2) moved up the engines to the spot behind the leg, otherwise the canopy wouldn't open; this means you've got the mid section and a pod with leg and engine on each side 3) changed the entire underside, including the entire cockpit and the hinges, also moved the 2 x 4 wings to close the gaps at the end (see steps 18/19 in the instruction book... think that must be it... oh yes... dropped the white disc on the yellow wing as well

here's the interior of the cockpit. i dumped the stick in favor of the F-16 approach: left tile controls the engine, right tile is the steering; in the middle a Head Up Display and behind the tiles, a cockpit light sorry pilot, no seat :P
-
a third: this is of the underside of the midsection; a few posts ago i said that both the yellow bird and ARC needed modification there, because the traditional bricks crewed up the lines of the ship

i just bought the falcon as well... 84 pounds! it saves me 25 euro! However... the pharaoh wasn't happy at all... In fact... he was furious... "This is the second time that this green smurf used his mind tricks against me! First the Billund trip, now the falcon! i swear i'll have to send him a good old fashioned curse, like any decent pharaoh would..." :P :P

there is, by the way, a problem with the ratings... these ratings are based on absolute numbers... so if you have 3 reviews of 9/10, then that set will be at the top of the list, it's not fair to all the sets with, let's say 20 reviews and an average of 8/10, which is, in relative terms higher than the first set

Master Yoda, what's the resolution you're using? I can't seem to upload photos because they're too large... Bloody Jay, you're right about the tank's strong points, but i think a good set needs to be at least good on all major elements, including cockpit design,... i've never understood why the first X-wing scored so well in the community, even though the landing gear was really a joke, there was no ladder to get the pilot on board,... Sometimes, the community is too easily satisfied :P
-
Sure it does not but it looks really bare with a unfinished touch. Its just a matter of putting several pieces all around to have it more complete. Just like the Catamaran, I guess I'm a purist on those details Well the catamaran looks very unfinished in the midsection, but I think the Turbo Tank looks pretty damn good. what do you mean "it looks pretty darn good?" :oo there hardly is anything you call "a cockpit"; there's no window what so ever (basically a few transparent tiles); there are no door handles,... it needs a lot of work...

right now, i only have two yellow birds... i've already modified them. perhaps i can post them in the MOC section...
