  1. phes, meet trapper Old Shatterhand and Apache chief Winnetou... this is a pic from a comic, but the stories were written by the germany's most read author Karl May. This guy is a household name in Europe, but for some reason, he never succeded in turning the success worldwide...
  2. shall i try and get this topic back on track? if you want old grey, buy classic space. by far the best source, unfortunately, also expensive... and waaaaaay too valuable to use the parts for anything but classic space!
  3. ah... reminds me of Winnetou... that alone is enough to look for this set...
  4. sarcasm? nooooooo... i think 12 bids is rather a lot... you always have to hope there are a few people who want your product very badly. then they'll bid against each other and push price even higher
  5. i like the indian sets! they're greatly detailed, even tho i did find an indian torso a while back in a pab with the lego logo on his back :P
  6. rather popular... 12 bids...
  7. ok... so no money to do her lawn.... but what about getting money for washing her car? btw, phes, i was under the impression that you have a business. i did check your website...
  8. oh man... yellow castle, the galaxy explorer, the red and blue house... *satis* i used to have set 540, the one on the catalog... i think that's the oldest set i have...
  9. none of these would ever be in my all time top 10. they're all classic because of the story, the mix of knights fighting in space, the characters,... but i wouldn't say one of these left a mark... it's great entertainment, but in my opinion, they're not really great films... i'd go for ep4 or ep5
  10. brickshelf, i'm afraid...
  11. i got the viking longboat a few days ago. btw, are we, belgians the only ones who are calling this a "Drakar" or "Snek"? Even a Danish bloke like TT has no clue what they mean... Anyway, i talked about this on msn yesterday with yoda and tt, and at one point we discussed what parts of the ship we did not assemble. then we started talking about what this cage is supposed to do. i guess every one thinks it's for prisoners, however, the theme doesn't show any prisoners, it's a "minifig against monster"-theme, unlike the castle theme. then this pic at the back of the box got me thinking: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...=ST&f=10&t=1827 the pic to the right indicates that the monster more or less protects the diamonds against the vikings... so what if this cage isn't for prisoners at all, but to allow a viking to get the diamonds at the bottom of the sea. The cage would protect the man against the monsters (compare it with cages photographers use if they want to take pics of sharks...)
  12. ah... :oD i see! :oD brilliant!
  13. that's how it looked back then... I think... I can imagine, at least... maybe... sure, no problem, but you'd expect a little bit more activity in a village, like children running around, carts filled with trees, branches,... horses,...
  14. did you castle freaks see these houses? i'd love to see those in a decent context: a few gray walls, a few streets, people,... an interior would also be very nice... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=77800
  15. it's in any case the first viking village i've seen... the idea is great, but i think it's a bit boring... not enough people, not enough detailed houses, not enough colour
  16. it's a general store of which nobody knows... :P it's not on the internet and it only has a few shops in the country. The shop that is closest to my house in the only one of the group that still has these lego sets, to my knoledge. it's called 't Centrum, perhaps Korne may have heard of it. it's generally a rather expensive shop but for some reason, they still have some old sets. until a few months ago they had dozens of old sw sets like the bikes. they're all gone now, i've made sure of that. Most of that ended up in Sweden at Ras74's house. At that point, they also had smaller western, castle (think it's KK1) and rockraiders sets, but that's all gone as well. Prices for all these sets were high: the ep2 starfighter for instance, was between 25-30
  17. well... i've been buying several copies of set 6706 for the last couple of weeks now... for every item i pay 5
  18. how much was it, in the end?
  19. thanks for the review! I think it's crap
  20. great find, yoda! i won't buy it, but perhaps we'll see this set in the shops before january
  21. and while you're at it, dear mr. lego, could you please rerelease the old sets as well?
  22. i'd buy this for 40$, no problem! you can always buy bricks for your fort whenever it suits you, but getting this large number of minifigs, including two cannons, at once is rare... but i guess it depends on what you want: if you're only interested in collecting the sets and hardly do mocs, then sure, this is not what you're looking for...
  23. that's really nice! however, i think 4 studs is really small... you'd see that very well if you take a pic of the front. suppose you take 6 studs...
  24. then what? selling them all to get enough money to buy a decent camera, so you can take pics of them? :P
