  1. i think it's sad we only get one minifig with this hospital car. in a real one you get at least a driver and a medic... Still, many interesting parts for a decent MOC hospital...
  2. thanks for the review, j! hm... looks like a very nice set, except for the wings but you can easily replace them by customised wings... the landing gear is also too simple... apart from that, this doesn't look bad at all...
  3. just looked at lego.com again... it seems to me that these robot heads can't turn left to right...
  4. He he, suprising how fast that adds up, eh? When I have a certain part that I need quite a few of, I use the BrickLink Catalog to hone in on the item I want in the colour I want, in the quantity I want, for the least amount of money I am wanting to part with..... If there are several items, I start with the item I want most of using the aforementioned method, then when I get to that seller's store I check and see if they have the other items I want..... I end up meeting in the middle, maybe paying a bit more, but getting it all from 1 store as to not pay multiple shipping charges. Shipping can be a reall killer. Actually there are some sellers that I am sure use the S&H to make up for their "sale prices".... Fact is BrickLink is just too handy... You can stay at home and have access to almost anything LEGO you want or never knew existed until you do a little "Windows" shopping. Without exception I never just stick to my wanted list, there are always a couple of things a seller has that I "need" (Well I am already ordering. I will have these parts too for what I may build later...and any other logical argument I use to convince myself it is OK to click a few more items into the cart). that's basically my method as well... however, i also think about other elements: 1) i pay an extra 10
  5. not having any stud there will make it more dificult to attatch the baseplate to other plates. it just looks weird
  6. did you guys see the corner of the grey baseplate of the hospital? No studs! never seen that before...
  7. Personally, I blame it on the camera...it makes normal grey look almost brown/tan! i agree. try putting in it in real sunlight, but without the walls reflecting sunlight... what colors did you mix: dark grey (used and new)? bley (used and new)? damn! just read it's not yours... |-/
  8. it's great!! :oD :oD i mostly love the interiors of the castle. they're huge but not stacked with too much furniture, it looks really medieval. you are going to expand this Moc, right?
  9. well... it's probably cheaper that way... for the company that is... I think printed minifig torsos were more expensive...oh well... that's true, but they're already in production, perhaps they're even using left overs from the construction theme... in any case, i don't see why this is such a big deal, construction guy or city bloke... why do you guys care so much about this?
  10. Poor statue. It doesn't have any arms! I wonder whether Lego will ever make a set like this one that has town and castle together.... I also like the brick built horse...Now that's Lego! it's funny... this horse has stickers on it for the eyes... the horses of yellow castle didn't have those....
  11. a very old set indeed! very rare as well, if you're asking me. I only remember this set from scans on the internet, i never saw this one in shops or belgian catalogs. i'm not even sure they released it in Belgium... anyway, what i like about this one, is the combination of city and castle! :oD is there an interior of the house as well, like a table,...?
  12. That's... That's disgusting! *sick* well... it's probably cheaper that way... for the company that is...
  13. i'm afraid so. Columbus went to the opposite direction because the Portugese were in control of the searoutes to India (via the Cape) and the moslims controled the Suez, so it was practically impossible for Spain to get ships to India via the traditional ways. Colombus, an italian, had no choice but to go the other way, hoping, he'd be able to reach India and China. In the end, they were all after the same thing: luxury goods. however, the Portugese were mainly interested in organising trading posts, the Spaniards wanted to colonise areas all around the world... Later on, once both nations had more or less maped the world, they made an agreement that would close the routes to the East for Spain, but she would get the americas as a compensation, except for Brasil.
  14. well... he wasn't allowed to go the usual way, was he? He was, after all, not on his way to India...
  15. i'd like this one, if you don't mind :P http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=137234
  16. besides, one could be the prototype, the other the real thing...
  17. i'll assume they're the real thing. i like the airport fire truck, still i'm dissapointed about the mid section; the technic pieces should have been hinges... the hospital truck, is very nice! i'll buy a few of these! it seems to me that something pops out between the two wheels...
  18. sure, but based on current activity, you'd almost have to conclude that this is a pirate forum... quite a few castle voters hardly ever post here anyway...
  19. is this legal, did they get some sort of an agreement, or wasn't that nessecary?
  20. Cool find Sam ;) Already a wave 2 planned the same year, that is awsome !!!! I love his line !!! I wonder what this $99.99 set will be like, I guess it could be a huge playset with lots of vehicles !!! or just a huge mean machine :oD Can't wait for pics !!!!! well i gues we get a lot more when that website is available at the end of the month...
  21. not really my kind of taste, i'm afraid to say... what's so interesting about this one?
  22. hm... two days have passed and only 8 people already signed up...
  23. not bad! not bad at all! sure the hull isn't sophisticated but this lady has style! i don't think western ships used that configuration of sails, tho , but i've seen worse...
  24. i saw the galaxy explorer in a shop, in the late 90's, brand new... don't know what the price was, but even at full price, that was a bargain by 1998... didn't buy it, tho, i was in my dark age... i got out of my dark age a year later... it was gone by that time :()
