Welcome! This model, aside from the colors, is amazing. I'll be waiting to see progress. So, do you have any pictures, and if so, where? Anywho, if you want proportional control, you might want to implement something like this: Be warned, however, that it is huge, and frighteningly complex. It is indeed proportional. Yeah, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. And N2/Atomic bombs, but when are you ever going to encounter those? (always wanted to say that. ) As a matter of fact, the Crawler is going to end up costing about $169.99 USD. My reasoning is supported by the fact that 8070 is 120 euros, but costs $120 dollars in the U.S. Just look at the site, and it's (mostly) proven. Anyway, that's not what I'm excited about. 9396 is only going to cost $89 USD. Boo-yeah, I'll be buying that, maybe even two of 'em, so I could build a big twin rotor helicopter.

Well, Well. This is interesting. Brickshelf member tkel recently built a fully waterproof ROV. It's fairly large, but it has a very interesting method of keeping everything dry. This is the power module. It contains both motors, the battery box, and the reciever, all in a bag. (hence the name. ) For more pictures, visit the gallery. You just gotta love magnetic propulsion.

Valuation Needed

This stuff's freakin' priceless. At least, it would be to a serious MOCer. My advice is to hang on to the 8466 wheels, as those are expensive, and go great with 9398. As for the rest, go on Ebay and look up what you're trying to sell. That could give you some ideas. Oh please oh please oh please give me the unimog parts and the motors! I can maybe make a deal directly. -
Yep, but if you are takin' it apart this far, try switching the 2 16z gears with one 8z and one 24z gear. For best results, the 8z gear should be on the shaft going to the motor, and the 24z gear should be on the changeover shaft. I did this with mine when I was building it, as I had read the review beforehand and anticipated the problem.

Well, oops. I meant to say that it was radial, but typed out rotary Ah well, nobody's perfect. @Matt The Tuba Guy: That's one spiffy true radial. Here's a couple of tips on impovement: try using one of those old model team wheel hubs. the pin hole layout is identical, except for the center, which is a pin hole. Be warned, however, that the hubs are really hard to remove from the wheels, and are much wider and thicker than the wedge belt whee Edit: accursed phone makes me double post again.

I just reread one of the TB's posts regarding the crawler, and it included prices for everything, so: 9393 - Tractor / Buggy Partcount: 353 Retail Price: 29,99€ 9396 - Helicopter / Intermeshing Rotors Helicopter Partcount: 1056 Retail Price: 89,99€ 9398 - 4x4 Crawler / Truck Partcount: 1225 Retail Price: 169,99€ In USD, this works out as $37 for 9393, $112 for 9396, and a whopping $212 for 9398! Thanfully, there is a silver lining. These prices are from germany, and last year we all thought that the unimog would cost $250. Let's hope the same thing happens with the crawler.

I dunno about the proportions, but I like this set. He's big, yet poseable, and stable. However, the torso looks far to wide, and I really prefer Rocka XL's "regular proportions, but bigger" over this guy's "HULK OUT!!!" physique. Also, Rocka XL has a much better design, in my opinion. This dude just looks a bit to simple in comparsion. But overall, it's a great set, and the review was excellent.

Effe's MOC Corner

Nice axle, but what purpose does having the steering axis set at an angle serve? And why are there four links in front and a torque tube in back? An explanation would be very nice. -
Highest RPM electric motor?
Saberwing40k replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
well, from my expeirence, the 5 by 4 is the fastest. I don't suppose you're trying to make a helicopter, are you? -
Okay, I'm looking for the true R/C components in the sets in this topic's subtitle. I've looked everywhere, ebay and bricklink alike, and even the crappy ones cost in the hundred usd range. buying the components by themselves is sadly no cheaper. Does anyone have these three sets at any reasonable price? At this point, it would almost be easier to hack something out of a not lego car.
