  1. The proper name for the 'Dodgy' effect is 'Nimble' (the term Sandy uses on the Feather of Lithe consumable). Speaking of misnamed effects, on the Prophet robe, is that "Enlightened" supposed to be Transcended? There's two different definitions of that effect; the rules page and the Divine Cannonade define Transcended as "restores 1 Ether per Round", while the description in the Marketplace for Myrrh defines it as "doubles current and max Ether" (i.e. Mulled Wine for Ether). I propose that the second effect be called Enlightened instead. LINK
  2. You're not relying on Dodgy to prevent all the damage, it's just helping you stretch your health pool farther. Blessed is great, and it synergizes well with Paragon (not to mention that the cape is Mime-only), but the cape is still great with a dedicated Mime-tank.
  3. That's what makes the cape so great compared to the other Dodgy - granting items--it's both.
  4. Yeah, Dodgy AND SP is fantastic for tankability. Dodgy alone is helpful, but it can put you at the mercy of the dice if you don't have the defense to back it up; alongside armor, though, it basically makes your health pool last about a third longer, since a third of the time whatever chip damage would have accrued will instead be diverted. I have to say, I am curious as to what battle style Docken will primarily use as a Mime. On the one hand, the Knight's style is the only one with the Deflected Damage roll (for that 1/6 chance to totally block damage), but Rogue gets gold on SHIELD and Clerics get Special Guard. BTW, the Paragon helmet is pretty good too, just not as much as the Mime cape.
  5. Arthur stops to try to reason with the Regulator. "And what if there's more in the Council chamber as we speak? I hate leaving anyone to die, but being too late to save the Council would be much, much worse, for everyone."
  6. Arthur grits his teeth, then wheels Shanxian onward, looking away from the bloodbath that was to come. "Damn. I hope there's a good reason for this. I really hope we're going in as saviors, not slaughterers, otherwise I've severely misjudged what I was signing up for. Please tell me the reason we're hurrying is to save lives, not to end them." He quickly hands pushing duties off to Atramor, reaching his hands into his pack to rearrange his belongings just in case something unexpected occurred.
  7. Am I the only one who's noticed several of my Flickr image links breaking and needing to be replaced? The images are still in my photostream, but the image links themselves seem to have changed.
  8. Or, you know, gender-fluid. Because that's a thing. That people don't realize exists. Even though it does. *cough* Or maybe we're putting too much thought into this. (Though I have to admit, having an actual gender-fluid character in a Pixar movie (or even a Disney one) would be pretty awesome for me. Now that I think of it, there haven't been any Disney or Pixar characters confirmed to be on the genderqueer spectrum, have there?) Anyway, I should point out that this scene (in rough animation/storyboard form) was what we were shown at D23 last year. Finally everyone else can see why I was so excited about it! (And on the subject of that post: see, I was obsessed with Let It Go before the rest of the planet.[/hipster] ) I got this weird vibe that the kid's parents divorced and the one he's living with remarried, resulting in both of them trying to "buy" his affection. Again, probably reading too much into it, but it would sort of make sense (especially if said parent ended up on top in the divorce and/or remarried into money).

  10. "Hmph. I like this one. Not his answers, but that can't be helped. Captain Cecilia Sloane. Head of the Towr Guard--what's left of 'em. My men are downstairs trying to contain the outbreak. I'd be with 'em, but this big baby made me bring him up here to Ming's personal lab right before we sealed the Sanctuary door." "Hey! I'm still the Mayor of this town!" "You're also a gigantic pain in the megablocks, so shut up and let the competent people speak." The mayor spluttered and stammered, unable to construct a coherent comeback. "Oh, Mallora...oh my little girl..." "It'll be all right, Dad. She's clever. She'll figure something out." "Damn...all that work. Are you sure they're all completely irreparable?" A sharp slapping sound was heard, and several seconds of scuffling. "You bastard, Ming, my daughter is out there and all you can think of is your precious project...!" "Where was all this hesitation when your other daughter and I first brought this to you, hm? After all that's happened, now you don't want to have my back?" "Leave me out of this please..." "Oh, stuff it the both of you. Sure, Manfred, Kennedy may be a hypocrite, but that doesn't make you any less of a bastard." "Um...I'm Amara Jing..." the softer feminine voice answered. "Damn...well, can't say I blame Gideon for not trusting us, but it's a shame to hear they got to him and his family. The other two...it sounds like Kent's double, and maybe one of those bandits we had locked in the basement. Remind me again why you didn't destroy that one after the first wave of experiments?" "Mental reconditioning, Phase Two. We had this project all planned out, you know, we're not complete idiots." "Hmpf. Some plan. Well, to answer your question, lady, we're at the top of the tower, barricaded in. When the experiments started breaking out, we rushed everyone we could into the Sanctuary, the room behind that big heavy door you would have seen when you first came in. Unfortunately, a few of them managed to bust past our guard lines while we were sealing all the doors, so we have no idea how many may have made it inside--or outside, for that matter. There's a back way out, but I can't protect three civilians on my own--we've barricaded the lab, and hoped to gods the townspeople could handle the ones that made it inside the Sanctuary. I'm not holding out hope, though--it has to have been days, and you're the first ones who've come for us." "I don't know what you've read, but I guess I should probably explain what exactly happened..." Just then, a loud explosion resounded through the building, the echoes seeming to originate from the hallway to the left of where the party had entered. Dust rained down from the ceiling as the whole building vibrated. In the silence that followed, the faintest sound of clashing steel could be heard. "No time for that, Amara. Sounds like they just blew the basement staircase. That means containment's failed." The party heard the woman take a deep breath. "I'm not sure exactly where you're at, but I'm guessing you can't be very far in. There's a hallway on the bottom floor that curves around the outer edge of the Tower. At one point, though, it turns sharply right. The door at the turn is the Security Room, and that's where you'll find the controls to open up the Sanctuary Door. You'll have to make it through the Sanctuary to get to where we are. My second-in-command, Lieutenant Huxley, should have the key to the Security Room--if he's still alive. And hurry--Ming claims his family built this place to be indestructible, but blowing up a building's basement generally doesn't bode well for the structure on top of it." Would the party ask any more of the four individuals speaking through the vents, or would the move forward with their mission?
  11. Welp. I lose.
  12. "Long time no see, Byblos. How has Bookmark been working out?" Arthur plays his Sandman (Ethereal 4).
  13. "What's our endgame, Lady Shanxian? Where are we going in such a hurry? Wouldn't it be more advantageous to defeat these enemies now and not have to risk fending them off later?"
  14. FM Note: You may indeed consume consumables before battle, but I should point out that the dice rolls for scrolls are not affected by Lucky or Jinxed.

"Your tacticals--what's the situation out there? Have my men managed to hold them back? Are there any survivors in town?" "What about the prototypes? Were they able to subdue any without damaging them?" Though only silence sounded at this statement, it did not take a diplomat to discern the disgust being directed toward this speaker at the other end. How would the party respond?
  17. "If you're going to poke around his business, maybe you should poke something else into him--you know, help solve the 'problem' you think he has," the Dragoon remarks irritably.
  18. Arthur nods and quickly wheels Lady Shanxian out of the room, pausing only to check Phang Ten for a pulse. OOC: Quick question, are the bots between us and the entry hall, or are they about to chase us to the entry hall?
  19. Arthur springs into action. "Atramor, go try and warn the guards, see if you can beat the machines to the lobby. Skrall, see what you can do for Lord Phang Ten, then help me carry Lady Shanxian to safety." Without waiting for anything else, Arthur opens the door to Shanxian's room, using force and his pickaxe if he needs to.

  25. My thoughts exactly. But, like I've said, I'm primarily here for those Level 9 card rewards--if I could only pick one, it'd have to be the Dark Lance from the Dark 9 card. It's literally my only goal within this tournament (since the Ethereal 9 card is impossible to win within the tournament and the Icy 9 reward is marginally inferior to the Dark Lance for my specific purposes). Oh, and in marginally off-topic news, y'all should check out the videos on Splattoon--that's basically how Arthur's inky-form will work from now on.
