Still, however, the Druid out of all of them managed to both cause the most damage and inflict a tremendous amount of poison damage upon their foe. The Junior Skirmisher scrabbled uselessly against the Warden's shield, perhaps feeling the same way about him as the party did about the Phalanx. 2. Round 6 of the Anticipated Apple Ambush (Battle 4, Famine): >Darksten (Crossbow) vs. Cheshire Cat A (Back Row) - Hit (Cheshire Cat A: 6+14=20 damage) Bugbear Healer A + Bugbear Healer B + Cheshire Cat B + Dryad vs. Darksten: 7 + 7 0 + (13+16=29/2=14) = 21 - 2 = 19 damage (KO!) Darksten's last shot lands true, but to no avail as the monsters crowd round and tackle the weary Ranger to the ground. In the last delirious moments before all fades to black, he sees a mighty pitchfork descending from the heavens to unleash its wrath upon the foes... THE BATTLE IS LOST! -------------------------------------------------------- The party awakens to find themselves back at the Donauld farmhouse where they first began, Billy the Goat dashing frantically back and forth from one to the next to the next with a wet sponge in his mouth. The goat hurriedly drops his sponge when he notices the Heroes regaining consciousness. "Baa! Baaaa baa baaaa! Baaaaaaaaaa! [Oh! You're all awake! Everyone, come quickly!]" "Howdy ho, Heroes. Good to see you back. Good to see you alive, actually. When we found you out there, we weren't entirely sure ya'd make it. I wish our reunion could be under happier conditions, but I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you folks." "Cock-a-doodle-doo! [it brings me no pleasure to say this, but under Article 1, Subsection 3 of the Laws of the Fields of Glory, you will have to leave the Fields of Glory to recover from your injuries.]" "Darn tootin'. You Heroica folks may seem darn near invincible, but even y'all can't repel injuries of this magnitude. It'd be far too dangerous to let you back in there after what happened in the orchard. Go home, get some rest, and maybe come back when you're a little more prepared for the challenges ahead. In the meantime, though, I'll leave ya to Missy." "Oink oink, Oinkity Oink! Oink oink oink, oinkity oink oink, oink oink oink oink oinkity. Oinkity! [Thank you, Old Mack! Even though you were defeated, you may still exchange the Glory Points you've earned for prizes, or you may choose to save them for later if you wish. Just let me know what you'd prefer!]" The party members make their selections, and begin the slow trek back to Eubric. 4. So, for those people interested in helping out, I've made some minor tweaks to the Infobox_item template on the wiki. For an example of the template in action, check out the Phoenix Essence page; admittedly, the rest of the page still needs some work, but it'd be awesome if we could all band together to create articles for all of the consumables listed on the Consumables page. Even something as simple as what we have helps in creating a comprehensive searchable resource.
  5. "You and Hoke both. Doesn't mean I'll ever live down freaking out so much about fighting a freaking floor." He grimaces, remembering how many other things he'd said and done that night that he'd never live down. Well, I guess I've made some progress. On the plus side: I don't hate Atramor anymore. Never thought that'd happen. On the minus side, we seem to have swapped places. Miirym looks at Arthur in puzzlement, but makes no reply. Her master was a mysterious creature, that was certain. Perhaps with time, she would come to learn more of his secrets.
  6. Evokers can use anything Mages or Rangers can, so it's not quite so bad. That said, the last truly Evoker-boosting item was the Divine Cannonade from Quest 75, so perhaps it's time for some enterprising new QMs to come up with new Quests and new equipment.
  7. QM Note: Running the Round a little early since I may be unavailable later this evening; I'll assume Thormanil repeats, dual-striking the next enemy in line since a Hit will kill. Round 6 of the Security Room Scuffle >Docken uses Grand Potion on Hybros - Success! (Hybros: 25 HP restored) Thormanil (Shishkebab) vs. Golem Skirmisher A (Front Row) - Special Damage Hit (Golem Skirmisher A: 16+43=59+1=60*2=120-20=100 damage (KO!); Golem Skirmisher B: 16+43=59+1=60/2=30-20=10) Hybros (Darkness) vs. Golem Skirmisher A B (Front Row) - Damage (Hybros: 44 damage; Golem Skirmisher B: must retrieve weapon) Hybros (Darkness) vs. Golem Skirmisher A B (Front Row) - Special Damage (Phalanx - All enemies: Phalanx in effect next 3 Rounds) Ellaria (Ignis Fatuus) vs. Golem Skirmisher B (Front Row) - Special Damage Special Damage (Phalanx - Golem Skirmisher B: Phalanx extended by 3 Rounds) Ellaria (Ignis Fatuus) vs. Golem Skirmisher B (Front Row) - Aim Hit (Golem Skirmisher B: 12+30=42*2=84-20=64 damage + Poisoned by 15) Golem Lieutenant Huxley: -1 (poison) Golem Skirmisher B: -16 (poison) Golem Junior Skirmisher A: -1 (poison) Golem Lieutenant Huxley vs. Bartholomew Docken uses Feather of Flight: Success! (Golem Lieutenant Huxley: flees) Golem Junior Skirmisher A vs. Thormanil Nihai: 30-18=12 damage; 12 damage reflected back to Golem Junior Skirmisher A Though on the brink of defeat, the Golem Skirmishers managed to put up a fight. Though the Dragoon stabbed his lance clear through the first Golem and into the one behind him, it was one of the few successes for the party. The Warden healed the Monk, only for the latter to take even more damage; as the imp limped towards his opponent again, he allowed enough of an opening for the Skirmisher to signal a Phalanx for the few remaining foes. The Druid attempted to land some last-second hits before the enemy could step into their protective stance, but only one got through, the other prompting the position to extend even longer. Saluting to his surviving men, the lieutenant's golem doppelganger scooped up his previously-abandoned weapon, flashed a feather in his foes' faces, and fled down the hallway to the right, taking his key with him. Two enemies remained, but their Phalanx was now in effect for six Rounds. THE BATTLE CONTINUED! The Enemies: Golem Skirmisher B *Immune to Weakened and Fragile* *Back Row* *Ignores Row* *Assistance* *Poisoned by 16* *Phalanx (6 Rounds)* Type: Humanoid Level: 44 32 Health: 258/550 Defense: 20 Special: Phalanx - The Skirmisher crouches behind his shield in close formation with the rest of his party, halving his and their damage taken during the next three Rounds. If Special Damage is rolled against him again while his Phalanx is in effect, his Phalanx is extended by another three Rounds. 16. FM Note: Using a Shovel would be equivalent to using a Potion or any other item.
  17. I don't think within the cup, but I think between cups maybe.
  18. Which is why I think a "first card wins ties" rule would be a good addition to Decamon after the first cup; it fixes both major problems with the Ethereal type: the Ethereal 1 being useless, and the Ethereal 10 being unbeatable. Is there a way I can just choose which five cards to hand Atramor for the sake of convenience and expediency? He literally auto - wins three rounds in the hand regardless of what I pick. (I'm just joking, of course--getting a decent pick-off or two via Rounds I can win would be a more than fair consolation prize, and I wouldn't want to give up on that. )
  19. More than decent, I'd say. Not too thrilled that the winning players all seem to be getting pitted against each other now instead of in the championship matches/cup, either, but that's just how the tree goes, I suppose.
  20. Dumb question: is 120 the record for enemy Defense in Heroica? Because if so that's actually kind of impressive. Maybe I should hollow the Defensive Golem out and wear him like a suit. While I'm here, here's a couple of miscellaneous Artifact concepts I've worked up but don't really have a place for: Cinnamon Toothpaste - (Attacks originating from the owner's dragon companion deal burning equal to 1/5 the dragon companion's level; accessory, suitable for Dragoons only) Armlet of Draconic Rage - (Changes Dragon Aid to Dragon's Wrath: Petit Breath; accessory [handwear?], suitable for Dragoons only)
  21. Secondary characters have to start at Level 1 with the basic item loadout; it's not possible to start a new character with anything beyond that.
  22. Round 3 of the Anticipated Apple Ambush (Battle 4, Famine): >Lind Whisperer (Ethereal Deack) vs. Dryad (Back Row) - Hide (Lind: hidden) >Grimwald Gjinko uses Scroll of Sleep on Bugbear Healer B (Back Row) - Success! (roll of 1, Grimwald: -1 Ether) >Darksten drinks Potion - +10 HP Bugbear Healer A + Cheshire Cat A vs. Lind Whisperer Grimwald Gjinko: 7+(13/2=6)=13 damage (KO!) Bugbear Healer B + Cheshire Cat B vs. Darksten: 7 0 +(13/2=6)=6-2=4 damage Only Lind seems to recognize the futility of the fight, the Rogue hiding in fear as the remaining enemies beat up his allies. Perhaps it was time to seek fortune and glory elsewhere in the Fields? Five enemies remain against only two Heroes, one of whom was only at half health. THE BATTLE CONTINUES! 23. Oh, right. Come to think of it, a lot of people must have been tripping when they joined Heroica (albeit in a different sense than that, but still ).
  24. I don't remember Dyric's entrance, was it tripping on the floor? Or was that a reference to when Arthur came in tripping people with his staff?
  25. Sighing at the situation, Arthur stabs his Gladiator Trident at the Offensive Automaton from the Front Row. Battle Order: Arthur Atramor Skrall
