  1. I wouldn't mind Dragon Aid getting replaced with something more like Petit Breath, or even better evolving like the SHIELD roll does--it's a bit underwhelming to roll a 4 for poor Thormanil in 118 and realize that he's nearly 10 levels higher than me and yet is only doing 10 more damage on the same roll. I think the biggest problem with the Dragon is that there's nothing the player can do to improve it. Have great weapons? Cool story, bro, you've got a 1/6 chance to actually hit with it in a given Round. Got a sweet tank build? That's nice, let's take you out of the picture with your mechanically best roll (High Assault). Oh, you're Encouraged now? That's okay, your Dragon isn't. Literally the only thing you can do is try to level up so your Dragon gets stronger; WP, effects, and non-dragon elements don't matter, and SP and immunities only matter for you personally (since you can't reliably tank Free Hits). That said, I do think we need some more testing to see what exactly the Dragoon can and can't do, and what exactly would make it better. I know we've jokingly talked about an all - Dragoon Fields run of me, Thormanil, and Hoke, but maybe running a test scenario of that exact thing would be a good way to see just what we need to do to fix the class. It's probably also worth noting that in 118 so far I've balanced around Ellaria, Hybros, and Docken, but not Thormanil. Food for thought.
  2. QM Note: You are correct. Can't front on the Empire, to all you Vader-haters out there, we'll blow your planet up. Must have had the wrong edit window open when fixing the poison damage. Will roll soon.
  3. Welp, thus ends Dragoon Arthur for now. Really thought this class would be more fun to play. The roleplay is fantastic, but it's so limited in battle--not at all what I was expecting. Also, good to know about Aura not stacking. It reads "doubles current health regardless of maximum health," so it's not an unreasonable expectation that it would double an already - doubled HP amount, but as 37 showed, it can get a little ridiculous. I have to say, if Do survives much longer, we'll have to call him "Daring Do".
  4. ... ...yeah, my class' rolls suck. All of them. "Miirym!" Arthur scolds in exasperation. "Now is not the time!" The little reptile sniffs indignantly and breathes a smoke ring at Arthur in retaliation. Arthur again repeats, hoping he could physically hit the Jun-Chi at least once before everything wears off. Same Battle Order
  5. QM Note: Fixes made. Black Knight is still alive (but Bleeding and Blinded for another Round), and Docken has a double Aura (which I don't think we've seen since Quest 37 ).
  6. QM Note: Free Hits; as I've seen it played, a Berserker gets locked into their target from the moment they target it, even if something (i.e. an AoE Sleep or Stun effect) interrupts the attack. Whoops. In fairness, I should have noted it back in Round 2, so I'll assume Round 3 as the start of Thormanil switching weapons (since Round 2 was clearly player error).
  7. *Whew*, lots of code-fixing that Round. I really shouldn't have run the previous rounds tired.
  8. QM Note: Sorry for the (very!) late update! I'll autoroll a round to compensate, since nothing major really changed. Also, Stunned re-fixed. I've also fixed the Alchemists' health (silly QM, poion-immune enemies don't take poison damage! ), and added an indicator to the Golem Berserker to indicate whom she strikes against; speaking of which, because I forgot to account for Huxley's Hastening in Round 1, she's actually fixated on Hybros, not Ellaria as previously noted. Round 3 of Key Combat: Hybros (Darkness) vs. Golem Alchemist B - Damage (Hybros: no effect, Golem Alchemist B Asleep) Hybros (Darkness) vs. Golem Alchemist B - Special Damage (Golem Alchemist B: no effect, Asleep) Thormanil Nihai (Gladiator Trident) vs. Golem Black Knight - Damage High Assault (Thormanil: avoiding all damage) Bartholomew Docken (Darksteel Crossbow) vs. Golem Black Knight - Special Damage SHIELD (Aura - Docken: Aura) Ellaria Arbour (Ignis Fatuus) vs. Golem Junior Skirmisher C - Damage Special Damage (Ellaria Docken: no damage, Stunned removed) Ellaria Arbour (Ignis Fatuus) vs. Golem Junior Skirmisher C - Critical Hit Special Damage (Golem Junior Skirmisher C: 12*2=24+30=54*2=108-20=88 damage + Poisoned 25) Golem Lieutenant Huxley + Golem Berserker vs. Hybros Bartholomew Docken: no damage, Asleep Golem Lieutenant Huxley vs. Thormanil Nihai Bartholomew Docken Bartholomew Docken: no damage, Asleep Golem Alchemist C vs. Bartholomew Docken: no damage, Asleep Golem Lieutenant Huxley: -2 (Poison) Left Rear Counter: -1 (Poison) Golem Black Knight: -1 (Poison) Right Rear Counter: -1 (Poison) Golem Berserker: -1 (Poison) Left Front Counter: -1 (Poison) Golem Junior Skirmisher C: -76 (Poison) Right Front Counter: -1 (Poison) The Monk kept missing, while the Dragoon prepared to deliver a fatal blow to the Black Knight. 12. So basically just like Heroica.
  13. OOC: Upon further inspection, Arthur should be at 29 health from Round Five of the last battle; I seem to recall catching it before and then forgetting to bring it up.
  14. My gaming time in the very near future will probably be devoted to learning the basics of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, since I want to use the 112 battle mechanics in a reasonable manner (well, that and I was able to get both it and all of the DLC for US$12.49 yesterday ). I'd also recommend Dungeon Defenders (the original, not Eternia or Dungeon Defenders 2 pre-alpha) for Heroica fans; it's a style of hybrid action-tower defense that I think would translate well into Heroica, if only someone takes the time to adapt it. (I have plans to do so eventually, of course, but I wouldn't mind at all if someone else wanted to do so before I'm able to. ) It was insanely cheap yesterday, but it'll probably go on sale again on the final day of the Steam sale; be sure to pick up all the DLC, including the Tinkerer's Lab DLC (which isn't included in the complete collection on Steam), for the full experience.
  15. QM Note: Upon re-reading Quest 120 and realizing I was failing to remove Stunned properly, I have retconned the results to reflect this minor alteration. If I can get an action for Docken, I'll go ahead and roll the Round.
  16. "I'll try and get the Jun-Chi Bleeding while it's still Sealed. After Feong's down...hmm, maybe start on Chie?" Arthur stabs his Gladiator Trident at Jun-Chi from the Front Row. Battle Order: Arthur Skrall Skrall Atramor

The poison corrodes the counters, but it would take time for the sinister substance to completely collapse them. Seven enemies and four counters stood strong against the party. THE BATTLE CONTINUED! 18. QM Note: Battle post updated with pictures--hopefully this should make things a little clearer. (Yes, it's ugly, I'm rendering it with POV-Ray as soon as I can. ) Also, I've decided that melee attacks that destroy a counter will inflict Bleeding on the destroyer, but ranged attacks (including Dragon damage) will not.
  19. Arthur realizes the odds against the party and immediately throws his Pumpkin Bomb from the Back Row. "Skrall, I want you and Atramor Lucky. Atramor, once you're Lucky, see if you can halve something's health. Oh, and try and get one of those Tao Warriors down a bit before the bomb sets in, we'll be focusing them first while they're incapacitated." Battle Order: Atramor Free Hit Arthur Skrall Skrall Atramor
  20. QM Note: As it so happens, I was able to mostly finish an LDD model after I got home last night; I'll finish it up and post it first thing in the morning, should clear some things up. Those were the dice rolls determining how many items they'd start out with. I'll clear those away in the morning as well. 1. Assistance. 2. Halved from what's shown now (they don't ignore Row). 3. Good question; I'll get back to you on that in the morning. 4. No, nor will poison. 5. Will fix in the morning.
  21. Those are some pretty handcannons. Those handcannons would probably be classed as masterwork, likely originating from an expert craftsman; since the Bonapartes are the largest purchasers of handcannons in the Free Islands[citation needed], it would most likely be someone connected to them. That being said... I approve of this message.
  22. Arthur quickly applies the Bright Polish to his Shadeaux Cloak. OOC: Other loot will be divided later, after this fight.
  23. "The fact that you're willing to talk at all speaks volumes, Lady Shanxian. You have my blade," he says, ready to face the guards. "Skrall, why don't you drink up now and maybe equip my gloves while you're at it?" Miirym cocks her head thoughtfully at the assembled Aoi, then spreads her wings and leaps to Lady Shanxian's shoulder, clearly protective of the woman but still ready to assist as necessary. OOC: for roleplaying purposes, Miirym will be launching her attacks from her perch on Lady Shanxian's shoulder.
  24. Y'all have no idea how many iterations this battle went through. Merry Christmas to all of you currently celebrating! I'll check in once or twice tomorrow if I can, otherwise I'll see you Christmas Day!
  25. QM Note: As I mentioned, I'll be unable to roll for 18-24 hours, starting now. Unfortunately, I was unable to mock up pictures, but I'll at least try to get some enemy images after I get back from my trip. (I'll also check in once or twice via mobile to clarify anything that needs explaining.) Prepared, the party pursued the fresh trail, finding after a few minutes a partially-shut door. Pushing it open and piling inside what was clearly a small laboratory of some kind, the group found an array of foes prepared for a fierce fight. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! The Enemies: Golem Lieutenant Huxley *Immune to Weakened, Blinded, Fragile, and Jinxed* *Back Row* *Ignores Row* *Deals Stunned* *Assistance* *Poisoned by 1* *Reinforced* *Lucky* *Hastened* Type: Humanoid Level: 54 Health: 639/710 Defense: 25 Special: Phalanx - The Skirmisher crouches behind his shield in close formation with the rest of his party, halving his and their damage taken during the next three Rounds.
