That awkward moment when you go to update the sign-up list and then accidentally forget to add the person who you were updating the list to include in the first place.

It may not have rooms, but I imagine that some people get away with catnaps in the corner. A fair number of Heroes do have established external living arrangements--Ellaria, Karie, and recently Arthur have at least mentioned them. Beyond that, I'm sure that a lot of Rangers are fine living off of nature outside the city, and the Rogues probably get by just fine sleeping in the streets. Maybe that's the real reason the Arena isn't open anymore--it's where the Veterans shoved all the homeless Heroes.

Hmm... Maybe the puppetmaster gets overwhelmed by the logical contradiction and Logic Bombs himself out of existence? It's not a "class negative", it's a simple application of existing rules. Black Knight SHIELD applies Stunned to the Black Knight, while the armor (or ANY artifact that grants immunity to Stunned) prevents the Black Knight from being Stunned. It's no different than if the enemy had a skill that said "[enemy] deals *Stunned* to anyone who successfully attacks it".

And actually, on the subject of Quest 135...not to screw y'all over entirely, but Pretzel and Thormanil are Soul Linked...shouldn't they both be puppetstring-ed, then?

The thing is, it reduces strategy. All of a sudden, you're not thinking ahead, you're just pointing your character at a target and then waiting to see if they die and/or get the party killed. That makes the "mindless repeat" 'strategy' even more likely than it already is. Like I said, our Heroes are not idiots. If they can respond to the events of battle quickly enough to pick a new target when their old one is down, they can plan ahead which one they'd want to swap to.
-
See, that's not how it's traditionally run, though. Traditionally, if they didn't give a conditional target, it moved to the next in line...even if it'd kill them. It's Artificial Stupidity, and it's not necessary. It actually reduces martial Heroes' strategy options significantly if conditionals are removed.
-
It is. As a QM, it feels super cheap when a character is KO'd or nearly KO'd (or just rolls a catastrophic Special Damage) because someone else's kill redirected them to an enemy they otherwise wouldn't have attacked.

U'Daras wheels and, still from the Back Row, targets Civilian Mob B. Seeing an opening, U'Voros joins Hybros in his attack on Armored Protestors A from the Front Row. Arthur feels Miirym's smoky breath at his back as he hovers in the air. Unlike his previous attempts, where he'd relied primarily on his Plaything-granted strength to soar, he felt the strength of Miirym's wings beating to keep him aloft. She's growing, getting stronger every day. Hope I can do the same. Back to the battle at hand. The Dragoon spots his targets, doomed from the moment they'd stepped into his sights. Miirym, too sees the opening, and as she circles she finally drops the Dragoon into position. Arthur lands, his armor and unsolid form absorbing all of the impact, and keeps low to the ground as he shoots forward, turning his vertical momentum into horizontal speed. He draws his arm, spear still in hand, far, far back...and then , stabbing several soldiers in a single strike. As soon as the three are struck down, Arthur pulls his spear free and twirls it, locking his eyes with the soldiers to the south as if to say "who's next?".Miirym, impressed with Arthur's battle prowess, manages to breathe her breath at Armored Protestors B from the Back Row, hoping she could spur on her partner to another strong strike.

Beautiful roleplaying.

The thing is, without them you get moments of idiocy like Clerics healing a party member after a Druid in the party rolled a SHIELD earlier that Round. People aren't usually THAT stupid, so it makes sense that they'd change their action based on the circumstances.

OOC: Hey, Zeph, can you list the dragons' future improvement factor in the stats for posterity? Arthur stands proud and firm against Disgruntled Soldiers B, stabbing his Dauntlet Index at them from the Back Row. "I fought at Drakencourt, too, you know, and many other battles besides. I protected the Princess there, too, and I'll do it again and again until she's safe from your treachery." Miirym breathes a blast of smoke at Civilian Mob C from the Back Row, while U'Daras attacks Civilian Mob B from the Back Row. U'Voros does nothing from the Back Row.

Khorne, have you considered hosting a Nord-based Quest where (some of?) your sets are drawn rather than photographed? At the very least, it could be a really, really cool way to handle things like ancient legends and flashbacks.

OOC: Arthur should be wearing Hoke's Medal of Glory in place of his Tin Gloves; this means his Defense is down to 49. Will post properly when I'm back on my desktop.

"I'm Bat - dragon."

"Yes, but the emperor said the whole reason they dislike Ella is her connection to foreign--" Arthur suddenly stops himself as he hears the words coming out of his mouth. "By the gods," he says, suddenly disgusted, "I sound like the damn Bonapartes. Catering to selfish bigots...what next, am I going to start harassing innocent ship captains because they refuse to kiss up to me?" Arthur shakes his head. "Lady Purpearl is right, we can't let anything happen to Lady U'Daras or Princess Ella." Arthur prepares to go out front to join the two soon-to-be Empresses.

Charis and Xu have dragons as well. Fine, I'll just keep using GIMP. I keep catching myself waiting for Pie to post in 139, before I remember that Atramor is still on 132. Not sure why it keeps happening, but there you go.

I'll reiterate everyone's praise for you, TPRU, as well as everyone who participated. Normally Mafia is just too harsh and hectic for me to really get into as a spectator, but not only did I end up following this game closely as soon as I stumbled upon it (mid Day 8 or 9, I believe), but it's now made me want to go back and read through all of the Ragnarok games just to see the whole story. Well done, all of you.

It's almost time. ...I had waaay too much fun making these.

A familiar-looking farmer--at least, familiar to a few in the Hall--enters the building and checks on his sign-ups, sighing at how few there were. "*sigh* Might as well have an ale, since I dragged m'self all the way out here..." He sits down at the bar for a drink, but just a few minutes later a pink envelope bursts into existence next to him, disgorging an inked quill that floats to the Quest board on a gust of wind and proceeds to write a note beneath the second notice in purple ink. A moment later, both envelope and quill light themselves aflame, curling quickly to ashes. "..." Old Mack Donauld stares warily at the dying flames, then gingerly pushes his untouched drink away and quickly leaves the Hall. "Miirym...!" Arthur races for the doors, but stops himself, barely able to contain his worry. "Wait. No...we can't. This whole problem is that we're foreigners, and the Dastanians don't like that...Ella's right, our interference will only anger the people of Dastan more...but at the same time, I can't bear to leave Miirym out there alone..." Arthur looks nervously at Tarn, his desire to protect Miirym just as strong as the Raider's desire to protect Ella. He then looks at Natasha, thinking back to the opinions she'd expressed the previous night. He stamps the butt end of his spear on the ground indecisively, ready to spring into action if either of them decide to act. ----- Miirym, meanwhile, has mulled over many things. She begins murmuring to herself, audible to her fellow Dragons and perhaps the few people directly below, but none else. "<All things exert will. Mortals are the most aware of it. If I am to bend their will...>" Without warning, she wheels and dips low, flying near to Ella and U'Daras so as to make mental contact with them. "If we are to bend their will, we must seek its source. Ask Sven the source of his discontent." After circling long enough to deliver her message, Miirym swoops back to the skies once more, rejoining her sisters in their circling.

I'd say a lot also has to do with the world being more filled out, meaning more time has to be spent dealing with the repercussions of previous Heroes' actions (and/or explaining them to the Heroes who come later down the line). There's also a higher standard of quality over time, so this tends to result in more work put into the setting and a corresponding amount of time exploring that space.
-
Was just about to say this as well. Now seems like it'd be an excellent time for the "Rush Hero" skit and discussion, though.
-
We've had monthers, and 141 is going to be similarly short.

It's SP in the Accessory slot. That's actually kinda rare, and SP:4 is nothing to sneeze at, either. Also, it's universally-applicable SP. I realize that's becoming more and more common now (hell, Atramor made it his entire build), but it's still not half bad.
