  1. The Bossk head's been used for Scheuster, the butler to the Ziegfrieds, but he's explicitly been stated to be the result of a magical experiment gone wrong, not a lizardman, I think.
  2. What is it with QMs ignoring the SP of Heroes with low SP already? Like, Hoke and Purpearl and Arthur have really high SP, so it makes sense to throw in a "ignores SP" once in a while, but I don't think the 138 party has 15 SP combined between all of them. (There was a similar scenario in another Quest not too long ago, but I can't remember now when and where it was--in other words, Endgame, I'm not just picking on you specifically, it's a trend. )
  3. OOC: Hybros SOAH should have some experience on it from the kills. Felix should be at full health from the Phoenix Essence. Arthur shouldn't be Encouraged anymore, though I'll remedy that soon. Arthur remains on guard, staying near Ella and U'Voros. "There is a rift between Dastan's rulers and her people. It's up to you and U'Daras to mend that rift, before it grows into a festering wound like it did in Xu." Miirym follows the others inside. She looks to Vipera as she flies at her side. "<That was unbelievable. Arthur has spoken of your spiritual power, but I never dreamed of being able to affect mortals in such a way. Is this something all Dragons born to Dastan can do, or is it your individual talent?>"
  4. Miirym is awed by Vipera's display, so much so that she fails to notice her own kill OOC: Unless I'm mistaken, Armored A should be dead since Miirym hit them while they were Fragile). "<How...how is this possible?>" she asks her fellow Dragon, even as she prepares to use her Breath on Civilian Mob B from the Back Row. Lady U'Daras signals for U'Voros to join her in a joint strike against Civilian Protestors B from the Front Row. Mallelio tries healing Torc again.
  5. Flipz' Guide to Dual-Strike: Weapons: On Hit, Critical Hit, and non-AoE SHIELD and damage-dealing "4" rolls: Calculate like a normal roll of that type, then calculate an identical roll against the secondary target. On Damage and Special Damage: calculate Damage/Special Damage as normal, as if the weapon was not Dual-Strike On AoE SHIELD rolls and non-damage-dealing "4" rolls: calculate as normal, as if the weapon was not Dual-Strike Marauders: On Damage and Special Damage: calculate one Damage/Special Damage roll, then calculate an identical roll against the secondary target. On all other rolls: may the gods have mercy on your soul. And yet you still forget to factor in Fragile to Miirym's damage. In all seriousness, I really appreciate the simplicity of the Dragon rolls as well, but I think there's some good room for Artifact - based customization as well. I've already mentioned that something adding the Fly rolls to the Dragon would be pretty neat, as would something that adds Burning to their attacks, or adds a Power bonus if they attack the same target as their Dragoon. Doesn't have to be much, just something simple that differentiates one Dragon from the next a little.
  6. "Looks like Hoke and Hybros have things in hand. I'll take care of Lady Felix," Arthur says, using the Phoenix Essence from the Hollow Blade of his Duplovian Swift Halberd on Lady Felix while swinging the weapon itself at Civilians A from the Front Row. OOC: on mobile and about to eat dinner, other actions soon, sorry.
  7. About twenty thousand grains of 1950s-era Russian gunpowder gods I'm a nerd. Yes, I'm immensely grateful to the guinea pigs early adopters whose troubleshooting will ensure my Heroica participation goes uninterrupted. I hear that many have died to bring us this information. ...say, where is Brickdoctor these days? I'd love to throw the Fields at him, take my own shot at Docken now that I know tanks' fatal weakness.
  8. I'm not installing Windows 10 until a.) I stop hearing horror stories, b.) all of my apps and games are updated, and c.) I can be sure I'll be back on my feet in time to host. No 10-fueled angst for me, thanks!
  9. Nope, he's already been crated, labeled, and shipped to the warehouse--two rows down and six over from the Ark, I think, third box from the top. [/joke]
  10. FM Note: Sorry for missing this. Current Sign-ups for Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory Ezeran Yavarr, Level 1 Mage (MysticModulus) Torald Waruelf, Level 1 Barbarian (Alfadas)
  11. It is indeed. Sent in the pitch, just have to double-check my photos and do a couple re-shoots and it should be 100% ready to go. Well, I mean...to call mine "sets" plural is sort of a disservice to sets in general...in this case it's more like "how many different ways can I re-shoot the same set set of two vegetation-covered baseplates to look like different places". I suddenly have a new respect for Jurassic Park's obsession with setting all their action scenes in the jungle.
  12. Aaand now I remember why I always ask other people to build my sets: all of my lighting setups suck. The good news, though, is that I got a lot of photos taken, so at least there's progress on that front. (The neutral news is that this isn't for the upcoming Diana Quest--that still needs significant set help--but fortunately I've basically designed this entire project over three or four days total, so it's not that much time taken away from their development. )
  13. Just so I'm completely clear on mechanics, a Weather Mage's Mist won't make undead vulnerable to non-imbued weaponry, correct?
  14. I've always seen throwing a bone as being like throwing something right at someone's face to make them flinch.
  15. No. Dividing damage makes it stupid easy to become completely untouchable. Look at it this way, HP x10 makes Hero SP be on par with enemy SP--it definitely puts a dent in your damage output, but it doesn't prevent you from taking damage entirely.
  16. Mallelio heals Torc, or the ally with the lowest remaining health.
  17. A bone is basically a stalling action--i.e. you use up the bone, and that enemy is unable to deliver a Free Hit against you for that Round. On the one hand, it's a guaranteed way to keep an enemy from Free Hitting you without the risk of rolling Damage or Special Damage--on the other, you have no chance to roll your own SHIELD or other good rolls. That said, if you throw a bone at an enemy, it only prevents the Free Hit--if someone else targets the enemy after you, having thrown the Bone does nothing to prevent them from rolling Damage or Special Damage; the bone is basically wasted in that case.
  18. OOC: Civilians B should be Bleeding -20 and should be down by 40 HP because Fragile. Also, I'm confused on the Miirym math--she rolled Damage, so shouldn't the mob have dealt 42*2=84-10=74 damage to itself? Or did she roll Breath (in which case, she would have dealt 38*2=76-10=66 damage to the mob)? Grinning madly, Arthur wheels and stabs his Dauntlet Index into Armored Protestors B from the Front Row. "Hybros, think you could Blind and Frail the first set of Civilians? I think Lady U'Daras has your target set." Miirym sweeps back into the air, circling near Vipera as she uses her breath on Civilian Mob B from the Back Row, planning to switch to Armored A if her target is defeated, or Civilians A if Armored A is also gone. U'Daras boldly charges Armored Protestors A from the Front Row, ready to switch to Civilians B if her target is down or Civilians A if they, too, are down. U'Voros, for his part, tries to hold back Civilian Mob B from the Front Row, but if they're down he checks on U'Or (does nothing) again (unless Civilians A are Blinded, in which case he attacks them from the Front Row).
  19. More like the lunatic philosophizer obsessed with chaos theory who contributes little but is somehow well loved enough to be brought back from the dead to star in a sequel. I mean, I can take the parallels further if you want. Genius mechanical engineer (close enough to being a mathemetician), shamelessly flirted with a main character's girlfriend, adopted a little girl of a different race than him, would be excellent at Cinema Sins...
  20. There have been quite a few interesting tools added to the game over the years, but most of them end up as drops in Quests. I like that; it makes the Artisan's SHIELD roll make (a little) sense, since Gnomeo would only teach the Artisan about the tools he actually sells, but at the same time that doesn't limit tools to only be available from Gnomeo himself. So by all means, post your ideas, so I can steal them for future loot drops.
  21. I strongly suggest some sort of Battle Points system for the Arena akin to Glory Points, instead of flat rewards for X number of wins; not all Heroes are alike, and so they'll want different rewards for their wins.
  22. Why is the Arena still closed? Multiply player HP by 10 and use normal rolls, disallow Gold stealing, boom, done. Unless the rework is more about reworking the rewards system to be more like Glory Points, in which case I approve.
  23. Arthur sees the opening Hybros and U'Daras have created and salutes them both. He signals a charge, leading himself, U'Daras, and U'Voros to attack Armored Protesters A from the Front Row. Mallelio heals Hybros from the Front Row, while Miirym, awed by Vipera's spiritual power, inadvertently ends up attacking Armored Mob A from the Front Row instead of the Back.
  24. That awkward moment when you're reading old posts and realizing you spent nearly a third of your Heroica career roleplaying this universe's version of Ian Malcolm...and in a weird way, still are.
  25. It'll still be a long while before that opportunity comes to fruition--it'll probably be another year at least before I've finished both 139 and another Quest. (Alternatively, I could host three more Quests, and I do have two well in the works, but that still will take quite some time. )
