WPx2 + Level is a Critical Hit, not an elemental modifier.

Speaking as an observer, it's not fun to read. Conflict between Heroes is great; constant, near-100% bickering gets tiring fast and really kills my investment in the Quest I'm reading. As well laid-out as the plot of 138 was, I probably wouldn't have bothered with it if I hadn't had my deal with Warlen to think about; the really interesting interactions (Karie with Warlen, Jinnipher with the NPCs/environment) got steamrollered into oblivion by all the fighting, at least until the end. The same sort of held true for 100 as well; it wasn't until the party was split (during the mutants section and then post-Vega) that things really got interesting to see. Actually, if you want an example of contrarian behavior done well, Endgame's Lethauros Quest (sorry, on mobile, so I can't look up the number) showed a really awesome side of Throlar; grumpy and uncooperative, but not to the point of spotlight stealing or breaking the flow. It's probably the best we've seen of Throlar, and we learned a lot about both him and the rest of the party because an ideal balance was struck.

I can confirm that at least one of my upcoming Quests (not 141) offers a chance for Wolfgang reputation.

Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion

Finding Dory sounded amazing at D23 a few years back. I mean, Dory's family. Dory's. Family. That's gold right there, especially if they've managed to keep the cast they announced back then. But yeah, the real hype here is CLEARLY Incredibles II.- 279 replies

Well, this is intended as a simpler newbie Quest, and it's not as intimately tied in to the rest of the game's story arcs as, say, 104 (though that's not to say it isn't tied in to anything at all ). It's much more along the lines of Quest 57 than anything else, which leaves it a lot more room to be mostly self-contained.

This is a short one--maybe 5-6 weeks if we hit the rough edge of time zones.

Eh. They reset at the end of the battle, it's fine.

Hmm... *scribble scribble* I've got a few Quests in the pipeline that would be really cool to see Karie on. Looking forward to seeing her in action! Also, good luck to all the raffle entrants! Arthur can't enter, for obvious reasons, but you can be sure he'll have some cash ready for the Bright Polish winner.

...Annienalbat? Working on it! I have all but three photos already taken, we're just waiting on Windows 10 to stop screwing with Sandy's computer. Umm...what Heroica universe are you playing in? Battles have been tending to get longer and longer for years, and only recently have we QMs managed to get the trend to move toward more reasonable time-spans.

Eh, decent items for sure, but none of them really fit my build anyway, so I'll join the "meh" crowd. As far as the talisman goes, is that a 1/3 roll every Round to revive the wearer, or just a 1/3 chance when you're actually KO'd? Either way, the balancing of draining the wearer's Ether only works on Ether-users, JSYK.

"Thanks, Hoke. I'll have this back to you soon." Arthur stows his Tin Gloves in his pack, equipping the Medal of Glory in their place.

Miirym starts, so intent on listening to the people in front of her that she hadn't heard Purpearl come up behind her. She begins preening herself furiously to hide her embarassment. Arthur happens to notice Hoke swapping his Artifacts around. "Actually, Hoke...would you terribly mind me borrowing that Medal of Glory for a battle? After delivering Hybros' medal to him, I have to admit I'm a bit curious as to what it's like to wear one."

I think Starscream ruined the trope for everyone, no one seems to know what a proper The Dragon is like any-- *muffled whispering* Ohh...ohh, we're still on literal dragons. Right, right. One thing I want to explore when I send a party to Charis is the cultural differences between Dastanian and Charisian dragons. To my mind, all Charisian dragons have some wyvern blood in them, which is why they grow quickly and have elemental affinities rather than the powerful spiritual abilities demonstrated by Vipera and other pure-blooded Dastanian dragons. Don't know if I'll be able to work it in directly (I've already got two sub-plots that for the sake of player sanity are only briefly touched upon as sequel hooks rather than full sidequests), but at the very least I can include it as a background info. By the way, Zeph, I'm really interested to see what you have worked up for the Dragons of Xu, how their species have adapted since migrating from Dastan.

Arthur raises his hands and bows slightly in apology, doing his best to speak diplomatically. "Forgive me, then, your highness. I am speaking of things I do not yet comprehend. Perhaps in time, I will come to do so. Hel, if the Wolfgang get their way, Eubric will come to be under a king's rule...and the oppressed in the city seem to be on the Wolfgang's side. Perhaps as that threatens to come to pass, I will better understand the plight of the Dastanian people." Sensing that it would be best to give the Emperor some space after the Dragoon's blunder, Arthur drifts over to Natasha just in time for Tarn and Ella to enter. Arthur waves Tarn over. "Tarn!" he calls loudly, just as he had the last time they'd met. "It's good to see you again. How have you been since we helped the Princess retrieve that storybook from beneath the sea?" "<Right of the People?>" Miirym quietly asks Vipera, not wanting to disturb the others' discussion.

As she sits listening to the Dastanians, Miirym hears something...a soft whisper, like wind passing through mist. What was that? she wonders, looking to Vipera and Torc to see if either had sensed something similar. With only that moment's distraction, however, she resumes her attempts to listen once more.

Vorpalis had two claws and two feet, for a total of four limbs in additon to wings--thus, Dragon. Wyverns have two limbs in addition to wings. (Admittedly, I myself am unclear on the matter of wing claws on actual dragons, but I digress.) IIRC Lethauros was the same. This new dude, if he really is a dragon and not a wyvern, apparently had four limbs in addition to four wings, and then lost two of his limbs. EDIT: Okay, seriously, what is up with the editor today?! *checks* Yeah, still on plain-text mode...Firefox be derpin', I guess...
-
That's not a dragon. It's a wyvern. And wyverns in Heroica are canonically non-intelligent. Get your dragonclature right, buddy. EDIT: ...aaand the editor eats half the post.

"Hmm...perhaps it really is a cultural difference, one that goes beyond my ability to understand. My people have a long, ancient history, but the past several generations have actively tried to distance themselves from it. In theory, I can understand clinging to a system that works, but in practice I have only ever seen it lead to tyranny, oppression, and decay--Xu was a prime example, before the revolution. Dastan is the only place I've known that didn't follow that pattern, but now it seems that my old impressions were, perhaps, misinformed." Arthur relaxes visibly at the news of the Emperor's trust in the tinkerer, but tenses again momentarily at the 'golden' description. "Golden...? Well, I am glad to hear that this new inventor's intentions have been proven noble. I would still like to meet these people, of course." Vipera's words remind Miirym of Arthur's mother, as well as his own discussions about Diplomacy. He learned much from such a strategy in Xu...perhaps I may do the same. Miirym nods to Vipera and attempts to listen more closely to U'Daras, Mallelio, and U'or's conversation, to hear the words of their hearts along with the words of their lips.

"Indeed. I'm still a little unclear as to the people's problem with Lady U'Daras and her ascension. I've seen her battle and heard her speak. If she were a Hero, she'd be prime Veteran material--the woman was prepared to single-handedly turn nearly thirty men's attacks back upon themselves without a trace of fear, and her words bear the wisdom and authority to bring even the most unruly ruffians in line. She seems as true a Dastanian as you or Emperor Alandri or Emperor Phyllius--I simply don't comprehend why the people fail to see her as one of their own." "As regards this...admirer of Blackenord's work, you'll have to introduce us when he arrives. I'm a great proponent of the potential of automata, particularly those of the Tritech Corporation in Eubric, but Blackenord's designs have a particular history with both me and Dastan...one I'd prefer not see repeated." "<So similar to, and yet so different from, the rebellion in Xu...>" Miirym turns to Vipera. "<I would seek your assistance. I have...dabbled in speaking to others through my mind, but it is taxing on my mental and physical strength. Arthur has told me of how you once linked the minds of nearly two dozen warriors in the great battle for this palace. I cannot yet do this for so many or for so long, so I would seek your assistance in communicating my experience to the others.>"

I hope you're happy, Zeph, I specifically went back through pretty much all of the final battle of Q30 just to make sure I remembered where Arthur had and hadn't been within the palace, and who/what he'd fought where.
-
Arthur bows low before the Emperor. "It is both an honor and a pleasure to return to Dastan, Your Highness." He pauses, chuckling. "Although it is a bit surreal--only moments after we entered I could see where we fought Blackenord, as clearly as if it was still taking place. I'm just glad none of the fighting ever extended into the dining room itself." "So, I hear that Princess Ella and Tarn are to wed. How go the wedding plans? Has a date been announced yet?" Miirym flies around, staying near Vipera and U'Daras. She remains silent, in consideration of Vipera's words of wisdom.

#residentmunchkin - Had this one for about a month now, I believe; it refers to my ability to make rather absurd stat builds in Heroica. Not sure who gave it to me, since most of the usual suspects have gone inactive (come back soon, we miss you! ).

But it's more destructive to the body, which she had to be able to use afterward. Also, wasn't it Diane who had the heart attack, not Throlar? I'll show myself out...
