  1. If you're really looking for someone "weak" to sell the Foxtail to, might I suggest Grimwald or one of the newbie Heroes of the Baltarok trilogy? All of them are talented, dedicated players who are in sore need of some good loot.
  2. That's how Pie killed Triad, too.
  3. "Master Grimwald, heal Charles and then use your remaining three actions to Sleep Umbraloid and Blind Cryoloid--if both those succeed on the first try, Frail Cryoloid. Lady Erdathcath, if you could swap out your amulet for another Artifact (perhaps your Mage's Muffler?) and then throw that horseshoe, we'll be in a much better spot. Minoid, it's best if you use that Quick Bow to attack Umbraloid twice, from the back. If you hit any of the miners, though, heal them instead of attacking again." Arthur uses a Dragon Scale on Grimwald and then throws his Gladiator Trident at Umbraloid.. Battle Order: Arthur Arthur Minoid Minoid Grimwald Grimwald Erdathcath Erdathcath OOC: If Minoid rolls a SHIELD on his first action, his second action moves to below Grimwald's heal, and should be to use a Grand Potion on Brittany unless Charles wasn't healed, in which case he should use it on Charles.
  4. "Minoid, use Lady Erdathcath's Quick Bow on Cryoloid from the Back Row, and with the extra turn use your Ambrosia on me.. If Cryoloid isn't Jinxed, though, just use your Ambrosia on me."
  5. Arthur drinks a Smelling Salts and then throws his Gladiator Trident at the Umbraloid from the Back Row. Battle Order: Arthur Grimwald Grimwald Arthur Erdathcath Erdathcath Minoid
  6. Arthur resigns himself to the hopeless battle.
  7. Three or four Quests as a Mystic Knight. Hoke's actually one of the least powerful Heroes, actually--he's got high WP and SP thanks to his class, but he's a glass cannon, he's really easy to take out.
  8. "These miners are dead, whether we save their bodies or not. Even if we somehow manage to kill you Oculoids without harming the miners, it won't break them out of their trance, will it?" Arthur's tone is tired, resigned. There was no victory to be had here--there never was. OOC: I do need clarification here before I can make a choice. Also, apologies--I don't expect to be able to be active until Friday at the earliest, or Tuesday at the latest--I have two basically pre-written responses I can copy and paste in to make my choice depending on the answer I get, but after that my hands are tied.
  9. OOC: Super super sorry, I'm majorly swamped today and Monday (US time). I WILL respond to this, because it's a great roleplay moment, but it may not be until late tomorrow evening, or else early Tuesday morning. Again, sorry for the delay--this whole week's going to be bad, but Monday and Wednesday will probably be the worst.
  10. The foxtail is an absolute requirement for anyone on a Zepher Quest. (Also, will respond to 99 when I can--I'm super swamped at the moment. )
  11. "Anyone whose mind isn't has lost their free will already." "...you're absolutely terrible at diplomacy, you know that?" Arthur brandishes his trident, ready for the fight.
  12. "The people before us who exist right now may be happy...but they're not the same people they were before you enslaved them. Of course, you've already heard this conversation--when you violated my friend's memories." "Besides, any being who demands respect and/or adulation from others is an automatic a**hat." OOC: Why yes, this is a Take That at certain real-world people and organizations, how ever did you guess?
  13. Surprised, Arthur falls to the floor, a smudge of black dripping from his nose. He quickly wipes it away before glaring at Erdathcath. "Erm, was I the one with glowing eyes? No..." "Neither would I--I think I recall Karie mentioning something like that, but it's hard for me to remember. She doesn't like talking about her experiences with these creatures, for obvious reasons." He thinks back to their last conversation. Could he really be behind the creation of these creatures? Was this all somehow a trap--a trap meant for him? It seemed a ludicrous thought, and yet he had challenged that dark being mere weeks earlier... "Whatever's causing their madness, I fear we'll have to fight them to cure them of it."
  14. "Lady Erdathcath, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these people are Hexed. Perhaps by that drawing? If I had to guess, I'd say the Oculoids are probably behind this somehow."
  15. "Indeed, though I'd like to take a sample of this rock with my Pickaxe first if you think it's safe. This collapse seems to carry a few more unusual minerals than the ones above."
  16. Endgame? You still there?
  17. After some calculation, Arthur scratches out a few more circles in the dirt. "That should get us through safely."
  18. Just noticed: in the Fields of Glory, the Bloody Bugs should have taken damage from the Ice Bomb, 10 since they're Vermin. Also, interesting enemy concept: an enemy that has one fixed type (probably Mechanical, Ancient, or Ethereal given the ability) and a passive special that switches its secondary type every Round--either picking a type immune to the last attack to hit it, or else just one chosen at random. Would make for a very interesting fight in a party full of Mages.
  19. "Hmm...I'll hold on to that rope for now, but it's probably best if we went through the cave."
  20. OOC: Healing outside of battle is indeed a Cleric and Druid Job Trait. "I don't trust the looks of that scaffolding, not without a Mage to try to rebuild it. But I suppose we can check it anyway." Arthur uses his Magnifying Glass to search the damaged scaffolding for anything of use.
  21. "Chin up, Master Grimwald, you stood up to Baba's saurian summons, you can stand up to this great brute."
  22. Endgame has a tradition of allowing ludicrous amounts of snark toward his mini-bosses, who am I to break with tradition, even if it means snarking at the opportunity to toss out snark? And wow, did I really manage to start two new pages in a row?
  23. "Sure, why not, I'm feeling bored. If he's too easy we can just monologue him to death," Arthur snarks loud enough for the colossus to hear.
  24. "Is anyone else getting a weird urge to slam a staff into the bridge and yell a super-cheesy melodramatic line?" "Minoid, is that the thing that attacked you before?"
  25. I just want a final ruling before I decide whether to start imbuing stuff in my weapons or my Artifacts.
