  1. Probably whenever he figures out that Heroes are all masochists and/or rampaging maniacs.
  2. Clearly Benji has never met Arthur.
  3. "Where's XX when you need him?" Arthur mutters, examining the doors and elevator with his Magnifying Glass.
  4. "Indeed. We shall press forward."
  5. OOC: . Arthur frowns. "Minoid, are you sure you're in full working order? You really should know who I'm talking about, despite your insistence on playing the pronoun game. We just had a dramatic reveal of the name of The Regret (also known as the White Devil), the creator of the Oculoids, not five minutes ago."
  6. "There's something I should mention...something I saw while I was Hexed. He knows we're here. Keep that in mind as we proceed."
  7. Clearly the solution is to add the Fairy type to the game. Elements are fine, no reason to mess with something that works. If we want an Aquatic enemy that resists Fire, add Immune to Fire or a passive Special.
  8. Clearly Dreyrugr has never met Arthur.
  9. OOC: Erdy should have gotten 71 Overkill gold, Grimwald should have gotten 6 Gold from the Noble Mask. "I'll take the spear, yes--that will be most useful to me in the future. We might consider redistributing our Artifacts as well, since Master Grimwald seems to be running low on Ether. In the meantime, Minoid? Blow open the doors--I want a clear path in AND out of here before we move on." Loot Distribution: Grimwald--35 Gold, Nostrum Erdathcath--35 Gold, Emergency Essence Arthur--35 Gold, Dauntlet Index
  10. "Erdy, the claw's all yours. Grimwald, Minoid, why don't you join me in taking on the Magic Dauntlet? Frail it with your last Ether if you can, but go ahead and attack it while it's Blind." Arthur swoops in and whips the Magic Dauntlet twice from the Back Row before returning to his formation. (Zoot's Rebel) Minoid shoots the Magic Dauntlet with the Quick Bow from the Back Row. Battle Order: Grimwald Grimwald Minoid Arthur Arthur Erdathcath Erdathcath
  11. Well, ceremony's over. (Been over for a few hours, I've just been napping.) I'll be heading out to a grad party later tonight, but tomorrow it's (mostly) business as usual for me.
  12. Scuba, you should have held a contest to rename Lifestealer. Charged an entry fee, or even made it a straight-up auction.
  13. Me, too. I miss Hoptet as well. Maybe he'll reactivate in time for Kinto's Shadeaux Quest! By the way, if anyone's looking for me tomorrow, I'll be at commencement for most of the day. (Basically I'll just be standing around for three hours waiting for some guy I don't know to inevitably mispronounce my name, but eh. At least my fellow theatre majors will be going through the same thing with me. )
  14. I actually disagree slightly. Instead of tweaking your enemy builds to make the Heroes' strategies fruitless, why not throw in a few enemies that make that particular Hero useful against them? For example, you host a Quest and know that a few of your Heroes often use Winged Sandals; when you're balancing battles, why not throw in enemy Special that uses Bound or Slowed, assuming it makes sense for that enemy? (Not a perfect example, of course, but it gets the idea across--once in a while, let the Heroes feel like the work and cash they put into their gear was a worthwhile investment.) Speaking of effect-based Specials, those really seem to drop by the wayside at higher levels, don't they? Maybe that's just me, though.
  15. The dice know better than to defy the power of plot.
  16. OOC: Magic Dauntlet (left) should be Bleeding, Arthur isn't Hexed, and the Puppetstring should be gone. Also, am I right in understanding that Erdy and Grimwald get a 50% chance to dodge the Hexing even if they roll Special Damage? As Arthur snaps back to reality, he takes a moment to get his bearings. He looks to Grimwald, surprised and grateful. "You saved me. ...Thank you." Arthur's focus returns to the battle at hand. "Right, I want that claw gone, but since it's Counterstriking and we can't Blind it, I'll have to kill it myself. Master Grimwald, do you think you could Frail it for me? Go ahead and move on to the Magic Dauntlet on the left once you've got this one taken care of. Minoid, right now it's better if you don't do anything unless the Left Magic Dauntlet is under 50 HP but not weak enough that the poison will kill it (in which case, try to finish it off), or unless it manages to Hex Erdy, in which case attack the Puppetstring." Arthur throws his Duplovian Swift Halberd at the Claw Dauntlet from the Back Row. If successful, he follows up with a whip of his tentacles (Zoot's Rebel); otherwise, he tries again. If in either scenario Erdy is Hexed, his second attack will then go against the Puppetstring with Zoot's Rebel from the Back. (For clarity, if the Left Dauntlet is under 50 HP AND Erdy gets Hexed, priority goes to attacking the Puppetstring.) Battle Order: Grimwald Grimwald Arthur Arthur Erdathcath Erdathcath Minoid
  17. Well, naturally--that's how I usually price such things.
  18. It's an easy several hundred Gold, what do you expect people to do?
  19. *Re-checks 93* So I'm guessing that this time it won't get a sequel?
  20. And by entire loadout, he means that guitar. Oh man. I know that by hoping for things I basically guarantee it won't happen, but it'd be so damn awesome if Grimwald rolled two Critical Hits in 99. Perfect moment for him.
  21. OOC: No free hit on Grimwald, the Magic Dauntlets are Blind.
  22. You do realize that the shippers will just take that as a challenge, don't you?
  23. That all the smart Zeigfrieds are siding with the Shadeaux. Or at least the sons of Valentine...
  24. Arthur slightly alters his path see edit above. Erdy's actions (if action is redundant, move to next action on list), for both actions: Blind Magic Dauntlet (right)>Blind Magic Dauntlet (left)>Frail Magic Dauntlet (left)>Frail Magic Dauntlet (right)>Frail Claw Dauntlet (Right). In all cases acting from the Back Row.
  25. This. I have a couple Specials written up as a general idea of what I'd like them to do, but they're riddled with blank spaces I can fill in later for things like damage amounts or specific effects. For example: Gale Wings - [enemy name] flaps their mighty wings to increase their speed, gaining a Free Hit at the end of the Round. Lightning Breath - [Enemy name] breathes a bolt of forked lightning, hitting the Hero and the Hero below them for [##] Lighning-elemental damage and the [effect]-effect. This way you can figure out WHAT enemies you want and what sort of abilities you'd like them to have, but can then tailor the numbers to suit your actual party.
