  1. "Hm. My good friend Thormanil's served them well, and was rewarded handsomely for it. Given that they seem to actually care about others, and the fact that unlike the Hinckwells none of them have tried to run this sword through me--" Arthur indicates Sir Roderick's sword, currently hanging unused in a scabbard at his waist, "--they seem like the House worth supporting."
  2. "The Shadeaux, eh? Can't say I wouldn't mind the opportunity to help them out...and you, of course. What was their order, and how can we help get it to them on time?"
  3. "Odd shape for a mountain, but I suppose there're stranger. What kind of things d'you mine out here?"
  4. "With respect, I think I'll decline." Arthur moves to the bow of the ship to wait out the voyage, periodically scanning the horizon with his Telescope.
  5. OOC: And would we be rolling against the sum of the two numbers, or just the numbers individually?
  6. OOC: How many cards total in the deck, and how many of each card is there?
  7. @Myrddyn: The min-max is strong in this one. (Also: this is exactly why I keep so many extra Artifacts and weapons on me. Take your situation now, now imagine it with Arthur's stuff to back you up. Yeah, that's what I thought. )
  8. I find it highly appropriate that this final battle takes place in the Quest called "A Trip to the Circus".
  9. So just making sure I'm understanding the win conditions for this, since they seem unclear: the Heroes on each side of the bridge need to defeat 10+ the number of rounds it takes to defeat the enemies (and do so before the other side takes the watchtower) in order to win?
  10. How is that any different than Heroica? No, seriously...
  11. Aww, I thought you were giving us Augustus for double-Skirmisher action.
  12. "That'd be us. Anyone else we need to wait for before we cast off?"
  13. "Chef, eh? Guess it runs in the family." "Thanks for the help, Augustus, Octavyn, it was great getting to catch up to you. We do have a boat to catch, however, so unless you'd like us to charge your fishing rods with Ether or something, unfortunately we need to move on. Farewell!"
  14. "Augustus, you mentioned you work as a fisherman part-time. Might I ask your other profession? Assuming you don't work for our friend Masson, of course."
  15. "I would appreciate it, yes, I enjoy being able to supply my party with the resources I myself cannot use. Besides, in others' hands those Healing Staves well-complement a certain sword I have, not to mention the Duplovian Helmet." "Arthur," Arthur says in introduction--somewhat unnecessarily, but politeness deserved politeness. "You should nudge him towards the inevitable wedding plans--he could probably put the Foundation Day Ball to shame a hundred times over, if he put his mind to it." Arthur grins mischievously. "Excelsus, that was it--the note said the captain would be wearing green."
  16. "Octavyn! What a surprise! Well, not my usual heroics, but yes, heroics nonetheless. I'm a Skirmisher now--Lord Knyghton let me train with the other Lion recruits a couple weeks back. How have you been? Masson keeping you busy?" "Ah--my apologies. This is Octavyn, he's a friend of mine from--well, a previous Quest of mine. Managed to work things out between his employer and the Town Watch, and take down a couple of Wolfgang goons--though the Watch seems to be going downhill as well these days, it seems." Arthur shrugs helplessly. "Nothing I can do about it anymore, I'm afraid."
  17. Jebs! Aw, you just missed a great Quest leaving.
  18. "Afternoon, gentlemen. Anything biting today?"
  19. The real reason they're fighting: Zepher and Pie can't decide which one gets to be the one who kills off all the NPCs. (There, that almost makes up for the Theatre skit I photographed but can't use anymore because too much changed since then. )
  20. If Shawe would just hurry the hell up and give me some sweet boots, it wouldn't be an issue. (Speaking of which, I hate to be that guy again, but how ARE the rest of the Tidings gifts coming along, Sandy?)
  21. OOC: I think Erdy's experience should be 20.33, since 20.5 isn't possible; additionally, she has multiples of some items (i.e. Grand Tonics) listed separately throughout her stats. Also, Grimwald's Power calculation is off, should check to see what the WP of his broom is. The stats on my Hero Statistics page should be correct now, but I'm about to lend out a bunch of stuff. Arthur nods respectfully to the newspaperman, but does not respond otherwise. "Grimwald, good to see you again, it's been a while. Apologies, Miss Druid, I'm sure we have run into each other in the Hall, but I can't recall your name at present. Arthur," he says, extending a hand to her. While the others read the newspaper, Arthur sits down a moment to part out his pack. "Forgive me, I've recently switched specialties, so a lot of this is not currently useful to me." He passes out his Unlucky Horseshoe, Staff of Ennon, Scroll of Frailty, Scroll of Sleep, a Scroll of Blindness, a Scroll of Confusion, and a Healing Staff to Erdathcath and his Staff of the Cultist Battlemage, Lens of Speed-Reading, his other Scrolls, his Scarf of Misfortune, and his other Healing Staff to Grimwald. As he passes out the latter, he smiles. "This seems to be becoming a habit, Master Grimwald," he remarks. "Which one of you would like to wear my Noble Mask, and which one my Duplovian Helmet? As you both have Healing Staves, there's no reason to worry about the immunity to healing on the latter." OOC: Actually, give me a moment to sort out my Consumables field so it's less messy. OOC 2: Done sorting, thanks.
  22. I've had to stop using my own stats in testing battles a long time ago. Also, just delete the consumable categories I just added to my Hero Stats page, they're for my own benefit; this just puts the items in a slightly more logical order.
  23. Thanks. Also, good god I have a lot of stuff. That's been one of the best parts of the trilogy, though!
  24. Having slipped out of the Hall unnoticed, Arthur quietly picks up an Ambrosia from Portia's before moving on. (138-65=73 gold)
  25. How much are Scrap Metals worth again?
