General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Maxim I replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Some remarks about this (as I am planning to make an original Silent Mary, so without the ghost stuff) - there is no need to replace the guns with molded ones. Those molded ones are too big for vessels. Many Lego ship builders are using round 1x1 bricks to represent guns. - sailors almost never could walk straight on the lower decks, so keep this in mind, otherwise your vessel will become too high I know it is gossip, but the link I sent a few days ago indicates there will be a new movie... but also that filmong hasn't started as they are still adding new members -

Interesting theory... Do tell me more about this hahaha I thought that if we gave them 80% in cash and the rest in apples, they would be happy... Turns out not everyone likes apples and we will have to rethink our strategy. Thanks for the advice!

A royal fortress protects villages within its radius against raids. But I am correct that this does not count for vessels, am I? In other words, does the Royal fortress of Mardier at Island 11 protects the vessels of Mardier who are blockading Fuerto Unido and Trador? Tbh, that would not make sense as guns can't shoot that far... And the raiding protection could be explained by the "the troops can patrol the area", but as vessels are on sea, I don't see how those troops can aid? If I am wrong about this, then could someone explain me how Trador can be blockaded when there are 300 soldiers stationed in that city?

Hi Mesabi, welcome to BoBs! Galleons can fall under a T or an A. (if you need a name, you can call her Atorana hahaha :D ) It is not really the T/A/F/WR that matters. Historically seen, one can adapt a vessel easily to make more space for cargo or for guns. The more important question is what size it is. This index should give you a nice idea of what the sizes of vessels are for each category. Historically seen, one can not easily adapt a vessel making it longer or taller or putting an extra mast on it. In other words: the T/A/F/WR is not something someone will make a remark about, but licencing it as a class 5 while it has only the size of a class 3, will be questioned. I hope I have helped you with this!

So there will be a POTC 6 with Johny Depp and Orlando Bloom if we may believe this gossip site https://www.google.be/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/752859/Michelle-Keegan-Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-Johnny-Depp-Dead-Men-when-is-release-date/amp so lets cross fingers we see a Lego FD set in a few years :) -
@Elostirion - @Bregir - @Sebeus I - @SilentWolf - @Sir Stig - @Tomsche - @CelesAurivern - @Legostone - @TitusV Dear shareholders, Due to unseen circumstances, the shares will not be able to reach you this month. For the length of the blockade of Trador, your gains will be stored and released once the blockade is over. As this blockade is an assault on your properties, those who aid Trador in getting rid of the blockade will be rewarded with extra doubloons. When interested, please contact our local embassador (aka me in private message). We are very sorry for the delay of your rewards. Dear regards, Sir Yohannes Ethiximus, Mayor of Trador (in other words: the months of blockaded Trador will be stacked till the blockade is over. I gave you my word that those revenues are sacred, so even in those dark times, you eventually will receive the missed revenues once the blockade is over. I do hope however that I will receive some international aid helping Trador).

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Maxim I replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A big reason I build with Lego is because I don't work with one historic example and build a copy of that vessel. Even for my (A)QAR, I am taking elements from different examples and incorporate them into my ships. So that means a lot of trial and error until I found something I am satisfied with. Lego is an easier medium than wood for that. The main reason however is because it is LEGO :D :D I create a story and those ships are part of it. They have to fit in my created Lego World along the houses, ... . It would be a shame if I got wooden vessels next to my lego houses :p --- Disclaimer: first drafts are started on a ship I am already talking 2 years about, and which will be a historic accurate vessel. But that vessel still have to be able to sail next to my other vessels, so this one will be Lego as well :) -
You are welcome :) this is better than the character of Sir Stig being assassinated (as he is the mayor of Bardo, the only settlement on the tiny island of An Toli) :p

Just to help you for this challenge, the setting is King's Port, so I fear you have to change your story a bit :) anyway, nice MOC!

Some sweet WIP's here :D Time for a prefab hull wip After modifying the LOTR Corsair and Carribean Clipper, it is time for a more realistic/beautifull Queen Anne's Revenge. The AQAR (short for Adapted QAR) has now around 38 guns and will probably end with 50 guns. -
Excellent question :D Due the delay, you have received 25 db's and will receive 25 db's from now on off :)

It was the talk of the town the last couple of weeks. Princess Sofiana, a niece of King Alphonso of Mardier, was about to marry with Captain Emilson. Captain Emilson was a son of a wealthy family in Mardier and owner of a private fleet. By giving the hand of Lady Sofiana, King Alphonso hoped to led Captain Emilson join his war against Eslandola. As a wedding gift, the Emilson Family received no less than 1000 doubloons from Mardier! The wedding itself was a big succes. All noblemen from KP were invited, even the rebels. After a long day, the newly wed couple went to their suit in the Royal Horse Inn in KP. It was a very quiet night. A few strangers walking on the street, minding their own business or trying to arrive at home on time in order to avoid an unhappy wife. The doors of the Royal Horse already closed. And inside, only the barman and a musician were spotted. A very quiet night indeed. The couple slept very well, knowing a royal Mardierian Guard was well erm guarding the balcony. What no-one knew, was that an assassin prepared the perfect murder for weeks... Very smoothly he managed to remove some wooden planks he made loose in the past so he had access to the room without anyone noticing him. Once arriving at the bed, he choked the unfortunate lady. Smooth, quickly and without any sound. A bit later, Captain Emilson woke up, discovering his wife to be dead. He yielded, drawing the attention of the Royal Guard. As there was no way someone could have entered the room. The guard quickly determined 1 and 1 should be 2 and he arrested Captain Emilson for the murder on his wife. The fact that Captain Emilson had a reputation of liking SM, wasn't helping the poor guy... Aftermath: Captain Emilson was found guilty of murder. His last words were: "it wasn't me". His brother took command over his fleet and sailed away from KP under a Pirate Flag, having sworn to avenge his brother. Mardierian traders are his favourite prey. ------- Thanks for watching! C&C welcome!
